currently I have a 360 so I was wondering if it would worth to upgrade to Xbox One.
also I have an older style TV setup, so I'd need to buy a new TV too. The wifi connection isn't great where the system is as well, so I'd need to fix that issue.
reasons for upgrading would be for newer games coming out all the time I'd love to play but can't currently. like sports, wrestling, The Witcher 3, Gears of War 4, Red Dead 2, Arkham Knight, future Grand Theft Autos, etc...
Also I see most of the games I already have that I haven't played(backlogged) on 360 are backwards compatible on XB One

For now if you at least have a 720p or 1080p tv, upgrade to the XB1 S. If you must buy a new tv get a 4K (HDR) tv & get XB1 X. True 4K gaming only on the XB1 X. XB1 S is only 4K (HDR) for streaming movies & Blu Rays.
You can always benefit from a new tv on either XB1, but the price of tv plus the price of the XB1 X is gonna be at least $900. My HD 32” Sony tv from 08 or 09 works/looks fine on my XB1 S. I got my XB1 S last Black Friday for under $200.
Also if you do get a XB1 S, get 1 that at least has 1TB of HD space. The 500GB isn’t enough. (XB1 X come with a minimum of 1TB). You can get an external HD anyways, but internal of 1TB is much better to start out with. Most all games install to the HD are 40-70+ GBs each. Yes all games install to the HD.
Graphics wise XB1 is way better & much more noticeable then the 360. Add a modern tv & picture wise you’ll be able to tell the difference much easier. In order to stay relevant, you have to upgrade & it’s well worth it.

You can find S’s at or under $200 all the time. I’d go with that. I wouldn’t do X since they announced they’re working on new hardware. $500 may be a waste if they’re planning on releasing a new console in a year or two.

I haven’t see any XB1 S (new) for $200 or less since the holidays. And even if you find 1, it’ll have the 500GB HD.
Most XB1 S, are in a bundle pack & have a minimum of 1TB HD & include a digital game or 3 months of Xbox game pass & 3 months of XB live, for 300$.
A 2TB XB1 S w/ or w/o a game cost (+/-) the same as a XB1 X & aren’t an easy find.
XB1 X (system only) 1TB HD, $450.

I'm honestly surprised that there are people who still play Xbox 360. Unless it's not affordable, upgrading to current gen is absolutely worth it. Once you compare firsthand just how much better current gen games look compared to the previous generation, you'll wish you'd upgraded earlier. And given how most series (if not all) have moved onto the current generation and stopped making games for previous generation consoles, you're missing out on more and more.

thanks for the advice everyone. I can definitely afford it, but just been putting the upgrade off. this picture is kinda similar of tv I've got. Curtis Mathes box tv with all plug-ins in the back. the people at my local gamestop said that yes I'd need to buy new tv.  |

235guy Microsoft recently said that the next generation Xbox will be coming in two years. If you've waited this long you might as wait for the new one. And if you really don't want to upgrade your TV for some reason there are adapters that will allow you to use HDMI connections on your TV. But, seriously, you need to upgrade your TV.
