That is a valid point, but the answer to that is they are immature kids who do not know any better.
Then again you worship the one character on Lost I wanna kill myself, to each his own I guess

I'm still a fan of his on-field talents. If he's innocent of the charges against him, he's still not the best guy off-the-field... But as a fan of football, he's still a player I will cheer for.

press conference from Arthur Blank right now. Not really saying much, other than that they were going to suspend him for four games before goddell made his decision. They also did discuss cutting him, and all other options.

I don't know what makes me more sick. Vick he needs to be thrown into a pit of dogs fighting and see how he lasts. If he ever plays a game again I will never watch football again. Some POS Falcon's fan was saying "If he comes back and we have a good year will get over it" F**K You!!! I hope that fan gets bite by a dog!! My favorite sports team is the Chicago White Sox, and if they find out Paul Konerko did the same thing and he lead them to 5 World Series, I would still never watch a single baseball game again. When people don't see the problem with the Vick or Benoit situation, it is because of ignorance, immaturity, and nothing going on in their life.

Yes I guess I can see how animal fighting is on the same level as killing your wife and child. Good point man.

He has been charged with a crime and he is claiming he had nothing to do with it. Good thing the law books in our country have an "innocent until proven guilty" rule or we'd sure be sending a lot of people to jail.

He's going to plead out eventually. When he does, he'll be suspended for the season, and then eventually next year cut by the Falcons.

i have been shocked by how swiftly these allegations have destroyed Vick's reputation. listen, I know the allegations of dog fighting and animal mutilation are heinous, but I at least expected Vick to get support from some homer Falcons fans and some homer Virginia Tech alumni.
and there is barely any of that. the indictment yesterday, held about 20 miles from where Vick grew up, was swarmed by crowds booing him and protesting his freedom. imagine how its going to be when/if he goes into a packed stadium for a road game in Green Bay, Philly, New Orleans?
there are just so many levels to this, that its hard to imagine it resulting in anything other than the complete and total denigration of Michael Vick. Nike may very well drop his entire sponsorship. the NFL could suspend him; the Falcons could release him. and, worst of all... he could be spending a lot of his days in an 8-by-10 cell.
moral of the story: don't be a stupid fuck

The fanbase in Atlanta has always been pretty evenly devided on vick before this. But i think this is the final straw for many people, including myself.

Tony Taylor's expected plea of guilty -- and with it, his future cooperation with prosecutors -- adds to an already impressive array of evidence against Michael Vick in the federal government's dogfighting case against the Atlanta Falcons quarterback.
Taylor is due to enter his guilty plea at 9 a.m. Monday at U.S. District Court in Richmond, Va. His hearing was added to U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson's docket Friday, a day after he and the other three defendants including Vick pleaded not guilty before the same judge.
Taylor was, according to the federal indictment, in the middle of the dogfighting scheme from the beginning. The indictment says Taylor, along with Vick and co-defendant Quanis Phillips, in 2001 "decided to start a venture aimed at sponsoring American Pit Bull Terriers in dogfighting competitions."
When Taylor describes these conversations with Vick and Phillips, it will be powerful evidence against Vick, establishing the conspiracy and opening the door to a mountain of other evidence against Vick. Taylor can establish the conspiracy all by himself, multiplying Vick's problems as he attempts to answer these charges.
The indictment, issued July 17, charged the four men with conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities, and conspiring to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture. The maximum punishment is five years in prison and fines of up to $250,000.
It will be powerful evidence against Vick, putting Vick and his money squarely in the middle of the scheme and its growth and development.
The charges in the indictment also show that Taylor can describe Vick as personally present at fights and at executions of dogs who did not perform well enough for Vick and his cohorts.
In addition to the tactical reasons for his plea, Taylor has been reported to feel that Vick betrayed him. Shortly after the first raid on the Vick fifteen-acre compound on Moonlight Road in Surry County, according to various reports, Vick had Taylor thrown off the property. It was part of Vick's effort to distance himself from the dogfighting operation, an effort that also includes a hasty sale of the property. The sale has not yet been finalized.
Even in the hearings on Thursday, Taylor was separating himself from Vick and the others. Vick, Phillips and Purnell Peace all appeared in court dressed in suits and ties. Taylor showed up in baggy, low slung jeans and a wrinkled yellow shirt. Vick, Phillips and Peace ignored Taylor during the short hearings and never looked at him as they gathered in the courtroom before the hearing began.

Yeah, that's just more bad news for Vick. But, I expect him to plead out in a month or so. It will never actually go to trial.

i really don't give a crapabout it, really. call me an insensitive bastard if you want, but i'm not one to stand on a moral soapbox and rant about animal brutality and whatnot, i'm not affected by it in any way. i've hated vick for a long time before this, if anything this is just bittersweet. although i didn't exactly want to see his career end or anything like that.
i'm more upset that the news is going to be seemingly unavoidable for the next year or so.

Same. I have a Vick jersey for reasons I'll never know. I think when I bought a Steve Nash Mavericks one I got the option of getting another jersey half off or something. *shrugs*
