Its not really a race thing, but if it was Manning or Brady they wouldnt get nearly as much **** towards them Are you serious? You...you cant be. Vick could be hot ing pink and he still did what he did. Race does not matter. Although, if it were a white player, it would be worse. Since Vick is black, they gotta watch what they say. If they were white, all the big guns would be out. I don't think it has anything to do with their race for most people, but I definitely DO agree that Brady and Manning would be forgiven much easier than Vick will. It has to do with them being the "media sweethearts" they are. ESPN had no problem burying Vick further and further because so many of their analysts were already all over him about his off-field incidents as well as his on-field lack of passing accuracy. If it was Tom Brady that killed some dogs, ESPN would definitely still talk about it... They'd definitely still say that what happened was "disgusting, wrong, etc." -- but they wouldn't talk about it NEARLY as much.

Just stating that Manning and Brady wouldnt be bashed as much. Not because they are white, but because the are "bigger" stars.Fact is Vick ed up and deserves punishment, but had it been one of those two punishment people wouldnt make as much of a deal about it. As my buddy said in regards to PETA: "They won't nearly make this big of a ing fuse had it been one of their favorites."

The only thing that hasta do with race is that, just like throughout history, races tend to side with their own and the African American community has supported Vick probably more than it should, but the white community would support the Mannings or Bradys too.
Now, I am not saying that all blacks think Vick is innocent, but like I said people tend to support their own race.
Also, the Manning/Brady debate is skewed because neither of them have been shitbags like Vick has been throughout his career, now hes not Ron Artest but hes not the same type of player as Manning or Brady

Vick does have a history and that certainly played against him. I agree that Vick would've been in a better situation, with the media at least, if this was his first offense. Though, if you remember, Manning has been accused of sexually harrassing a female employee at the University of Tennessee while he was there - but most people forget about that, while distinctly remembering Vick flipping off some annoying fans.

Well something 10 years ago in some hick college, or the Ron Mexico/weed bottle/flipping off your own fans.
Vick's gonna lose that one

Well something 10 years ago in some hick college, or the Ron Mexico/weed bottle/flipping off your own fans. Vick's gonna lose that one Definitely... But it's just the stuff people remember, to me, is kind of funny. The media picks their favorite players and the fans nutcling to them regardless of what happens. Yes, Vick was very much hyped - but he was hyped as a crazy athlete; not as a "good guy" like Brady, Manning, etc. I think there's definitely something to be said about how the media portrays the things that happen. I sincerely believe that if ESPN didn't shove the Vick story down everyone's throats, there wouldn't be NEARLY as much outrage about the whole situation.
