I am friends with Duke The Dumpster on Facebook, and he said that apparently there were plans for him to go heel in '96 and join up with Ted DiBiase, I wonder how that would have went down if it had??
I wonder if those plans got squashed when Ted left the company?? Or maybe when Austin arrived in early '96 and was put with Ted. Either way, it's a shame the Duke heel turn never happened. Just because I would have loved to have seen how they would have made a garbage man become all rich like with Ted DiBiase.

Would have made sense. The garbage man gets tired of the struggle and meager living and sells out to Dibiase. Sounds like a late-95 WWF storyline!

I doubt it would work, no offense but this would’ve sucked

It would've been interesting since the trashman gimmick was going nowhere so a change wouldn't hurt but in the end they made the right decision going with Austin instead.

He still turned heel didn't he? So it sounds plausible that could have been the plan, but Dibiase left for WCW. Would have been an interesting pairing, shame it didn't happen.

I just never understood why Duke wasn't billed literally as a "Duke". A heel gimmick with an ally for Jerry "the King" Lawler or a face as Lawler's opponent vying for his crown.

Him as an ally to King with the name Duke sounds interesting. Only interaction we got was the brief feud they had in 94 stemming from him dumping trash on Lawler on an episode of Superstars lol.
