and then the susan chick or whatever in a sarcastic voice was like "well i'm sure papelbon didn't mean to, i mean he would never do that"
shows you how pathetic they are, they had a game going on and they were talking about papelbon pitching last night for the red sox.

If your gonna check someones bat, check Pena's not the crazy Asian with 4 HR and like 10 RBI speaking of which where in the hell did Carlos Pena's career year come from? say what you will about TB but i like how guys like Pena and Ty Wigginton flourished there when given the chance. even ing Greg Norton managed 17 homeruns last year.

it's funny he was a bench player last year for us in september callups (pena) now he has more homers than manny and ortiz this year.

Everyone on the Reds forum was pissed as hell last year when we signed Hatteberg and not Pena after we traded Wily Mo and put Dunn back in LF. Hatte's been great, but Pena could probably mash 40+ HR's playing at the GABP.

How do you think a Yankee fan feels watching him put up these numbers after using a platoon of Phillips, Phelps, Giambi, Betamit, Mientkiewicz, Duncan, etc... at first base all season long. I wouldn't have given up on Pena just yet.

You'd think that someone in our system would have picked up on this last year...

I would have given him a chance over ing andy phillips. Unfortunately Phillips must have incriminating photos of Joe Torre.

Unfortunately Phillips must have incriminating photos of Joe Torre. To be fair, Pena is a player who has failed with several other teams outside of his good year with the Tigers back in 2004. But I do agree that it's ridiculous to think that Kevin Long probably KNEW he could fix Pena and the Yankees didn't even bother to call him up. He had to be called up by a certain date last year or he would become a FA and the Yankees wanted to keep Andy instead.

During last nights Yankee Radio commentators John Sterling and Susan Waldmyn were still complaining about Chamberlin being ejected. I feel the ump made the right call, 2 pitches near a guys head is a disgrace, then nimrod Torre complains about the umpires doing it.
The Yankees are a bunch of overpaid egos on one team ( surprised that Wang, Cano, and Cabrera haven't been traded yet), I respect what The Devil Rays are doing given their young stars a chance to shine with a few veterans in the mix.

You're surprised that Wang and Cano haven't been traded? You must know nothing about baseball, my friend.

that was a great game, I was holding my breath for the last few innings. Man, you can hold your breath for a long time. It seems there has been a lot of no-hitters/near no-hitters this season.
