Greatest (and most shocking) Stat of the Week: Cleveland Indians are 4-0 against Johan Santana. They were the first team to beat him three times in a season, now they've beaten him every time they've faced him, which really says something.

Now batting for the Yankees: Centerfielder, number 00... Lorenzo Alcazar. They should have me pitch, because Phil Hughes is garbage. I don't understand him, he is like the number 1 rated prospect in all of baseball and he can't beat the Royals, Devil Rays and Orioles. The Yanks sweep the Red Sox and then lose to some 22 year old kid named Dingleberry McGee with a 9.35 ERA and no major league wins.....thats been the story all year. The Yankees have NOT taken advantage of the bad teams, thus making it rather irrelevant when they do pull of a sweep of the Red Sox or take 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 from another very good team. Devil Rays, Orioles and Blue Jays will spell the end of the Yankees 2007 season. Because Mike Mussina and Phil Hughes couldn't get out 22 year old kids with .200 batting averages. Phil Hughes clearly is not ready to pitch in the Majors, as was evident when he had his anus handed to him in every single appearance in Spring Training...and now has done so in every single MLB appearance, except for the Texas game and against Cleveland. AND even after all the bitching I did saying how the injuries in April and May killed the team....even AFTER all of that they STILL had a shot, but with the Yankees having one of the easiest schedules on paper....they really are doing their best to try and piss away every opportunity to make the Playoffs.

Because Hughes is a rookie... not all Rookies start out hot. What, you want to trade the kid because he's having a rough first year? He's 21 years old, and has showed some promise. I think he should be removed from the rotation asap, but I wouldn't give up on him just yet.

gotta give him time. Nolan Ryan started out wild as hell. Just for an example

Oh I'm totally not giving up on him, I think he will be good in a year or two, but he's killing our playoff chances by going out there and constantly getting shelled. Depending on what Ian Kennedy does tomorrow (I'm going to the game tomorrow by the way ) I would take Hughes out of the rotation and put Mussina in his spot the next turn around and keep Kennedy in the rotation if he does well. If Kennedy does bad, and you also have Hughes who is bad, and Mussina who is probably going to stay bad, and Clemens who is only good 65% of the time.....R.I.P playoffs. Wang and Pettitte can't do it alone. The other guys need to man up and do the job.

If you believe in the law of averages, the Mariners should end their losing streak when they face the Yankos. I remember last year, they went on a 11 game losing streak in August, got a walk off win against the Yanks to end it, then took 2/3 that series, which ended up being their only highlight of last season.

Hughes was rushed, he never should have been up this year, at least this early. Just like Gallardo and Bailey, both of whom had problems, he is having problems too.
He is not ready, he needs another pitch and those 2-3 months he lost being hurt killed him.

Lorenzo I'm glad your not an Astros fan, honestly as much as I like you, I can't stand your frame of thinking as a sports fan.

He really did change, he was so positive and overly homosexual with his Yankee love, now he sounds like a bitter old woman
