I deleted the other one.
I'm going to start banning people from the sports board in entirety if they can't act like civilized people instead of 5 year olds. You all know who you are. All of the pricks here who think they know everything, act like jag offs when someone says somethnig they don't agree with, and constantly start fights or spam.
So play it cool.

Man such a sad situation that is with Mike Brown. Torn ACL most likely out for the season again. That is really really unfortunate. First time I've felt really bad for a professional sports player in a long time.

If you're not careful, you can get stampeded by all the bandwagon Falcons fans running away to new teams.

im not sure what occurred in the other thread, and therefore why it was deleted... so i'll just post my semi-annual(albeit belated) eagles rant anyone who knows anything about football will tell you that it is a three phase game: Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. you neglect any one of those 3 phases and your team will suffer the consequences. the Eagles completely neglected their Special Teams situation, with the exception of the punter now being Savio Rocca... but a KR and PR game thats been downright awful the last 2 seasons wasn't even attempted to be upgraded, and the front office went as far as cutting our only returnman with any "upside," Jeremy Bloom. so, I certainly am not surprised that a game that the Eagles more or less dominated, was lost due to stupid mistakes by Greg Lewis--a guy who has never, ever been a punt returner in his entire career... and J.R. Reed--a guy who was signed 5 FRIGGING DAYS AGO after not having played since 2004. I hope Eagles fans realize that this is not entirely the fault of Lewis or Reed. it was the fault of an unprepared and downright lazy approach to addressing special teams. I'm not terribly disappointed though. i've seen many, many worse losses to open a season. and I'd rather we lose a game with these kind of mental mistakes in Week 1, rather than Week 14 or 15. but if JR Reed and Greg Lewis are back to return kicks against Washington next week, i could very well go postal. but anyway, random notes... - the Eagles defense was stellar. the Linebacking unit featured 3 new starters, and they all played above expectations. Takeo Spikes was potentially in place for a few big plays, only to come up slightly short. Chris Gocong was surprisingly adept in coverage, considering the last time the kid stepped on a football field, he was playing DE for a Division-1AA team in 2005. and Gaither was active and stubborn against the run. - the depth on the DL is paying dividends already. Jevon Kearse looked very healthy for once, racking up a sack and recovering a big fumble. Trent Cole continues to be the best rotational DE in the game, racking up 1.5 sacks in limited playing time. Juqua Thomas destroyed Mark Tauscher almost every time he was in the game. and we finally got to see that "coming out party" game from 2005 1st-rd pick Mike Patterson. he made Darryn Colledge his bitch all day, and was a terror against the run; 10 tackles and a sack on the day. if we continue to get this kind of production from the DL rotation, i'll be thrilled - the secondary impressed as usual. we were without Lito Sheppard for most of the game, but since the Pack didn't have Greg Jennings in the lineup, it didn't really matter much. Sheldon Brown was fantastic, not only when manned-up on Donald Driver, but also playing inside on James Jones in the nickel package. looking more like the All-Pro Sheldon Brown of 2004, and not the mediocre Brown of 2006. and SS Sean Considine is continuing to develop into what i've dubbed "the white Troy Polamalu." - offensively? not much to say. McNabb was very up and down. he moved very well in the pocket, and had a few beautiful passes--the TD to Avant and one of Curtis's catches both come to mind. but he also got a lot of balls batted down at the line and threw a few balls into the dirt, which has always been something thats plagued McNabb from time to time. but, for a guy who is only about 9 months removed from tearing his knee to shreds, he played pretty well. - Westbrook was fantastic, albeit underused. ran tough between the tackles, caught the ball well out of the backfield, and was impossible to take down in the open field. In a game like this, where the score was tied for the majority of the day, its infuriating that Westbrook was not further utilized. the lack of any Tony Hunt at all was disappointing, too. - Charles Woodson destroyed Reggie Brown all day. Brown is a guy who has to step up for this offense to really click. he has made great strides every year since we drafted him, so after catching 8 TD's and averaging like 18 yards per catch last year, i have high expectations. he was a ghost on Sunday, so kudos to Chuckwood. - Kevin Curtis, on the other hand, showed signs of living up to the hype. his numbers could've been even better had McNabb been a little more on-target. Curtis consistently got open and showed unbelievable burst once he had the ball in his hands. I really look forward to seeing more from him. i'm ranting like crazy, like i figured i would... and this is all about a week 1 loss, for crying out loud. i think i'm obsessed.

Well, half of the Falcons roster won't be here next year, and I am perfectly fine with that. McKay has really made a lot of poor decisions, and we are left with a fairly old team with zero game breakers or anyone to build around. Sadly, there aren't even that many players on the team I actually even like. I am pretty sure Dunn's days in Atlanta are over after this season, and Joey is just keeping his spot warm. Rod Coleman, Grady Jackson, Milloy, and several others will be gone.

They're saying Everett is having sparce movement, and the next few days are crucial, but he may never walk again.

The Vikings have a pretty solid run defense, so I doubt he would have been too successful doing that. We have an undersized o-line, under-sized halfbacks, skillet-hands receivers that are terrible route runners, virtually no pass rush, a mix of old and inexperienced safetys, and a revolving door of stiffs at the 2nd CB position. With, or withut Vick, this team would have been terrible. McKay and Mora built a terrible team, and worse they built it around a less than competent QB who also happens to be an idiot on and off the field.

The Vikings have a pretty solid run defense, so I doubt he would have been too successful doing that. You don't think it's a coincidence that the Falcons are going to go from being the perrenial top-rushing team in the NFL, to being one of the worst? Vick was that offense, man. Bad as it was at times, he was the one who opened things up for them and you know it. Joey Harrington is a bad quarterback, but he hit Michael Jenkins right in the hands on that pass and he handed it right over to Antoine Winfield for a touchdown... The same kind of things happened last year, with Vick at QB, on a weekly basis.
