Thought it’d be an interesting topic to chat about. Anyways, I was diagnosed with ibs during my teen years. Over the years it’s gotten worse and managed to hold me back from a lot of things in life (mainly to the point of depression.) I’ve recently come to the conclusion that I could not be ignorant about the issue and something had to be done about it. I’ve started to invest in my diet and watch what I eat slowly. Breakfast seems to be the biggest struggle considering that it could be a trigger for my ibs. It’s still somewhat of a struggle to figure out what to eat in the morning... My question is, what do you guys normally eat for breakfast? Was there ever a time where you fell off in life? How did you overcome the obstacle? Thanks wfigs community

I'm making my way through a box of Cookie Crisp cereal, but this morning I had scrambled eggs and bacon.

I have IBS and many foods go through me to the point where I tell people when we go to dinner, I got 15-20 minutes from my first bite u til I’m in the restroom. I was a cereal hound for years, I have quite cereal and have also cut my dairy intake by 90% and have seen a massive change in the way my body works. We all know spicy food is the nuclear trigger for IBS, and I was actually able to enjoy hot wings and had no issues until the next morning. I have finally became “regular” and my IBS has calmed immensely. I have also cut a lot of sugery drinks, alcohol, and food with glucose or gluten. I honestky skip breakfast during the work week and may dabble saturday morning on sausage and eggs. I feel better too. I would suggest you retting checked for Chrones disease.

I skip breakfast during the work week. Weekends, I’ll pick up something, go to a restaurant, or cook a breakfast. Eggs, hash browns, some type of meat.

I get pre made meals from Fitlife Foods for breakfast during the week. My favorite is really the Marathon Morning, which is just egg whites, spinach, and turkey bacon and I eat that 2 or 3 times a week. I also do the Philly cheese and eggs, their breakfast turkey wrap, and every once in awhile the egg white sandwich they make between two wheat pancakes.
I'm not a good/healthy eater when left to my own devices. This is the only way I can do it without going straight shakes/smoothies. So I do breakfast and dinner through them throughout the week and try and be reasonable with lunch and then do whatever I want on the weekends. I usually eat pancakes, waffles, or some kind of Mexican style breakfast food on Saturday and Sunday.
I've never had trouble actually eating breakfast. I've always needed something within the first hour I'm awake. I just feel so much better when it's not cereal or a bar and I didn't realize what cutting that sugar out and getting more real nutrition in my food actually meant until I started doing it. It's different for everyone, though. I have no idea how ibs really works or what does/doesn't set you off, but I'm guessing you have to be very particular with your food and I'm sure that takes time and discipline. I wish healthy eating was more engrained in me but I'm from the midwest and I grew up eating like 2000 calorie meals every time I sat down. So it's taken me the last 15 or so years to really reprogram my eating habits.

I don’t have an appetite early in the morning so I skip breakfast and just have lunch at 10:00. Then I have lunch again at 2:00. Dinner is about 9:30

I really don't eat breakfast as much as I should, in fact it's quite rare and I need to start changing that. The reason I rarely eat breakfast these days is simply because I'm hardly ever up in the mornings now. I work 2 till 11pm shifts which means I'm usually up pretty late and thus wake up late the next day. Usually I'm not up until after 12. Even on my days off because I'm up until 4am watching Raw and 3am watching SD Live. I always say I'm going to stop doing that because Raw is usually so bad but I'm always so wide awake and end up watching it anyway.
On the days that I do get up early, I love to have a footlong mega melt from Subway. Italian bread, egg, sausage, bacon, cheese, black pepper and southwest sauce. So, so good.
If I'm making something at home, ideally I'd like a bowl of Rice Krispies or Corn Flakes, a nice cup of tea, and either some toast, cheese toasties or nice big plate of scrambled egg.
