Can anyone please assist me in finding out if this is true : I went into a Walgreens store this weekend and all they had were a lot of Becky Lynch’s and the manager preceded to tell me that Their Company won’t sent them anymore until they sell out of the current figure ? Is this true ?

My advice is to buy them, then drive them far away and return them. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Unfortunately the 3 local Walgreens that are in my area never saw Becky. It wasn’t like they had a ton of stock anyway, only 1-2 Sasha’s which are now gone and an E53. I had to get Becky from the secondary market. Luckily they got Maryse though. I was worried they would stop carrying them.

My friend worked at Walgreens for years, it’s true. They literally have to sell out before they even try to order more. So you could be looking at months or years lol. Luckily mine pushes items because they only order like 2 Basics and 1 exclusive and an Elite. Right now they have Seth Rollins, The Miz and Maryse. I never saw Becky,
I’m really against these Walgreens exclusive man. Walgreens either gets so many they never order again or they sell out before you even get there lol. They are probably the worst place to have exclusives that aren’t those stupid POP dolls. I think Mattel really ought to consider making Walgreens exclusives available at another more populated store. Meijer maybe? They don’t stock perfectly but at least it’d give two options. This “exclusive” crap is just sickening

Damn, that sucks. I quickly gave up on looking for Mayrese and found it on ebay for not much more. I looked forever for HBK and HHH. Now I find them, but couldn't find them at the time and bought them elsewhere. I'm just not going to deal with Walgreens anymore. It's not like Walmart where I could see myself going for another reason many times a week.

Makes sense to me, if i ran a store i wouldnt order more if i hadnt sold the previous ones, they need to balance things, ordering enough but not too many

My local Walgreens is pretty good with the exclusives, for the most part. I usually see each Marvel Legend Exclusive. The only Elite they've missed so far is Becky.

I once worked at a retail store and we wouldn't let stuff sit for too long before sending it back if we had too many of one thing. For example, a brand new popular album comes out, we'd get like 200 copies. Then it doesn't sell as well as everyone thought, and in about a month, we'd ship back all but 10. Other titles, we'd ship back all but one, leaving space for more titles. I think the problem with Walgreens is toys are not their specialty, and never will be. They just have a lot of random toys, so they're not even worried about that category.

That would work with sone stores im sure, but, i doubt the option to return unsold product applies to toys, which is why stores clearance them, there cant be many toy makers still using a sale or return system

Two of my three nearest Walgreen's have been pretty responsible. They didn't over order Sasha and haven't seen more than 4 Becky's on the shelf at one time. They do seem to be restocking Lynch's at the moment. That's a bit annoying since it was around one year ago I first started finding Banks and about 7 months since I first saw Becky Lynch.

They can't just let the exact same product sit on the shelves for years, i.e., Target with those Tito Santana figures...

But the same thing applies really, a manufacturer doesnt want to take unsold, old stock back, what on earth would they do with it all? Once a store orders stuff, its theirs, the only way to get rid is drop the price or clear it all out centrally to a discount store, you cant expect Mattel to take old stock back

Walgreens store manager here...
The Women’s Exclusive figures are all linked in the Walgreens computer system. So having three Sashas is as good as having three Maryses to the ordering system.
Walgreens ordering is automated. Typically for Toys, it will not reorder more unless the store is out of an item or maybe if there’s one in stock(unless it’s a fast selling toy).
This is why it’s not a great idea for retailers like Walgreens to have exclusives. Walgreens doesn’t send the toys back if they don’t sell, and cannot mark them down because they’re linked to the newer figures.
All of that being said, Walgreens employees can manually order. If you talk with a friendly Assistant Manager or Store Manager, they’ll likely order one for you. The problem is you’re at the mercy of the warehouse...if they still have Sasha or Becky at the warehouse that will be what’s sent to the store for the order. I do think most warehouses have the Maryse now.

I have a lot of luck returning to the same Walgreens every time for their next exclusive. They usually only carry one or two in stock.

Once a store orders stuff, its theirs, the only way to get rid is drop the price or clear it all out centrally to a discount store, you cant expect Mattel to take old stock back I'm sure once the company buys it, it belongs to them. And I'm not suggesting they just move it to the back, but there's a lot of things they can do with it. They can send it back to their distribution center so they can send the product elsewhere where they may not have as many of that item on-hand, or just sit at the warehouse and make another decision. I'm just saying, if the edict is having to wait until this 2002 item sells before putting out the 2018 version, that's just insane. 2 of the 4 Walgreens in my city alone still have scratch logo basics!

I know Bill said Walgreens wanted it, but if they wanted it so bad, they should be able to market them better and not just let them rot on the shelves forever without a new one coming out until everyone who wants one has paid a lot more extra for one on ebay or elsewhere, like I've done for every Walgreens exclusive. This might be worst than Target, cause at least with Target, there's an entire series to look for and you eventually find part of the series instead of just looking for a single figure forever.

I agree, if the distribution for store exclusives is minimal (most of these stores literally have one peg for WWE), then the process should change. It doesn't make sense for Walgreens because it's not like a good attractor to the store. If anything you'll be there to check when you're picking up an Rx or OTC medicine.
