Old shops

Scotsman Models! I miss the hell out of that shop and I think about it every time I'm down at A1 Comics. My dad introduced me to that shop in mid 1999 and I became a regular after that. So many memories of that shop growing up, the owners knew me well. But after they left in 2006 and let the younger boy and his dad run it, it went downhill and I stopped going altogether. It closed in 2010 with a whimper. That kid ran the shop right into the ing ground. Always hated him. He was such an arrogant tw*t. The type of person who completely ignored you if you said hello.

Pippin's didn't last too long either. I remember going in there in 2014 and George(the owner of Scotsman) dropped in and I immediately recognised his voice, turned around and said hello! I miss him and his wife, they were awesome and always went out of their way to get me the figures that I wanted.

Woolworths, Virgin Megastore, Tower Records, Dunkin Donuts, Global Video, Blockbuster.

He sells the main line elites along with basics and battlepacks. Loads of loose stuff too. He gets the odd gem from time to time too. I'm friends with Billy the owner and he'll give you good deals once he gets to know you. He actually used to work in that old computer repair store across the road halfway up the Gallowgate. He moved his stuff to the stall at the Barras around 2015. I've been a regular since.

Might check it out on my next Sunday off. It pains me to see that the shop where Scotsman Models once stood is now a clothes shop called 'Minted'. Actually depressing walking past it. Makes ya want to weep.

Damn how could I forget Index! How good was the smell of the catalogue haha! I'm genuinely contemplating picking up an Argos catalogue this week now just so I can smell it lmao!

Same with the Yellow Pages, they're tiny now. The internet has changed everything.
