I’m thinking with the decline of CDs and DVDs (even places like ASDA and Tesco who used to sell loads now have limited stock) HMV should start to focus more on clothing and accessories. I think they’d be a great seller of wrestlers.

I actually agree with you. They stock a large selection of pops and t-shirts. Plus the 'pure' loyalty card points would be a bonus. It would be cool if they did meet and greets/signings with WWE guys too when they got a new figure or exclusive. I could only see this being possible in the large stores but it would still be an idea.

The only problem I see with this is that HMV would probably charge in the same way they do with Pop Vinyls, IE; £5 more than everywhere else. Imagine the amount of cyber furniture that would be thrown around on the board if someone was charging £15 for Basics and £25 for Elites?
That said, I think the idea of some kind of HMV exclusive and in store signing sessions would be cool. Even if the exclusive was just something simple like a Basic repaint in some kind of exclusive packaging. Like... say, a Becky Lynch, or someone like that. Then have Becky sign at like 5/6 HMV’s on the next UK visit. It works on paper anyway...
But you know, previously I’d have always been of the opinion to just stick by Smyths and not bother with other retailers because at least with Smyths we knew what side our bread was buttered on, but with the current uncertainty we’re experiencing I’d welcome anyone else to join the party
I always thought Asda was making a mistake with regards to it’s stocking of WWE stuff. They constantly stocked the regular Basic line (at £3 more than most places) that you can pick up in various locations, but neglected to stock their own exclusives (well, Walmart’s exclusives) that you couldn’t get anywhere else. Always seemed like a misfire, but then again there may be obvious logistical reasons I’m not privy to that prevented that (that God awful Then Now Forever Basic series probably didn’t help)

I'm not sure that they stock less per'se, but what they've stocked has certainly changed in the last year. I know Asda and Tesco used to stock like the top 50/100 albums (or something like that), whereas they've cut back on that quite significantly, so it's more your tippy top bands / artists (IE: You'll have no problem getting the new Ariana Grande CD, but you might not be so lucky next time Paramore or Nickelback release a new album), and the rest of the space is padded out with compilations (Like the Best Skate Rock Anthems Ever, Volume 36, and the like)

The DVD/BD area seems as big as ever - especially the BD section, which used to be very small/select.

If you want anything alternative you're more than likely gonna need to hit HMV!

They certainly didn't have what they used to. The stores near me only sell compilation CDs and kids DVDs really - with some recent albums and films - but only the top top stuff. I do think in ten years DVDs and CDs will be non-existent, if not less than that. Hell, CeX near me is selling lots of DVDs for 50p now - they can't be creaming much off of that. The reason I brought it up is that HMV needs to switch it's business model quickly or it will be Woolworthed. Back on topic, maybe GAME could sell figures - like Gamestop does in the US? I think in ten years game consoles won't come with disc drives.

For every 50p DVD you see they're making 49p profit. Trust me, CeX is doing just fine lol!😂

Asdas can vary the big stores will have a bigger range of things, my one here is a superstore, but still smallish and downsized their entertainment section drastically a year or two ago fore example. And every time it stocks just one basic wwe line they never sell so they end of going from rrp to clearence quickly to make room for other stuff (thats more likely to sell)in ther small space they have for toys. I have seen the walmart exclusive stocked in their bigger stores though.

Before we could start talking about more stores stocking them, we need to think about why the stores that used to, dont, its because we, not me personally, stopped buying them, 'we' became lazy, needing everything delivered, people dont go to the shops anymore, stop ordering online and start going actual shopping, thats the o ly way to have stores stock more stuff we want
