This is a terrible idea, whoever thought Chase figures is a good idea is insane.
I say insane because I can't say what I really mean because I might get a warning.
Your making certain figures even harder to find. When does this madness end ? Kill all these exclusives, burn them all with fire.

Its a fantastic idea, it gets feet down the toy aisles, if they dont find the one they want, perhaps theyll buy something else, for those hardcore that really have to have it, theyll get it another way, it has no negative effect on Mattel whatsoever

Possibly this... 1 Dusty, 1 Seth, 1 Sami, 1 Kane, 1 Nakamura, 1 Shelton (Chase or regular, not both), 1 exclusive, and leaving 1 spot for someone to be doubled packed. I wonder how the chase figure will work- will it replace the regular figure or will every 4 cases have both the regular figure AND the chase figure?!

If walmart and target where actually good at getting new wwe figures on a regualar basis then maybe it would not be so bad. But they both are not that great and target is the worst retailer for getting exclusives in 3 years in a row trying to make it 4. Scalpers are going to scoop these up and resell on ebay in droves. Making something harder to find is not or never will be a good thing.

Lol even if they killed all store exclusives, the regular elite line would still have figures that would end up being scalped and sold for much more on eBay. I dont see why this place is so negative all the time. For god sakes your getting figures that you wouldnt get otherwise because we all know they won't sell as well as the main roster, weekly features guys. It'd be nice to see the forum just be grateful for once with what we are getting and just enjoy your toys. St the end of the day that's what they are. I feel like there are far to many members here who loose sleep over things like this.

I think this would be a great idea to get foot traffic into the store, since retail is struggling. The problem is distribution is so bad. This should be a ton of fun for collectors, and maybe in the Jakks days this would work. However my Target and Walmart both have Elite 59 figures on the shelf with Elite 55 and 56 sprinkled in. It also doesn’t help that Target has this weird thing recently of not putting full sets out and keeping half in the back. I feel like this is mattel’s way to improve distribution, but I feel like it will fail. I hope I’m wrong, but I think all this is going to do is put more money in the neckbeard’s pockets, further frustrating collectors. I guess only time will tell.

I’m kind of excited for this honestly. I probably honestly wont care too much about which versions I get, but it’s a cool way to get two different attires out at the same time.

We only make up a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of their revenue streams. If they see this as a positive for their bottom line they will do it regardless of anything else. They know they've got us hooked.

I like it that you think I will actually be able to find the chase figures on the pegs before someone else sntaches them up to resell elsewhere. If there just regular figures, I could order them off of rsc. Now I can't because they are store exclusive and there "chase" figures double bonus !!! (Sarcasm)

Just keep an eye out for the recently found in your state, just stop by when you are going to the store and eventually you'll find them. For all we know these could be in cases more than just 1 per case. Give the concept a chance to take off before craping on it. This may be more effective than the completely seperate exclusive lines since they are included in the standard elite assortment.

I just spent $200 on figures off of rsc 2 weeks ago, and a month before i spent $110. I have no problem with ringside's shipping costs. I do have a problem with these chase figures though. I don't have a problem with pay an extra $5 for an elite aj styles figure i want from rsc. I do have a problem having to pay double at least off of ebay to get the Sherri Martel figure i want because i can't find it and there are no alternatives. Chase figures are the problem, not the solution. There are twice as bad as store exclusives.

Or at least the explanation makes it sound like that will be the case.

Well let's see, Mattel is currently distributing series 64/65....my walmarts still have elite 55 on the shelf. I should get Backlund & Sherri sometime around 2032. Great job mattel. I know, we chronologically got 54, 55, 56, 58, 56, 59, 56, 60, 56. 56 is good series, but damn, we've been getting it all year. I wonder how the chase figure will work- will it replace the regular figure or will every 4 cases have both the regular figure AND the chase figure?! I thought it was said (from Bill maybe?) that the cases would not have both the regular and Chase, it would just be one or the other. Or at least the explanation makes it sound like that will be the case. I wish it had both plus the exclusive, so you could just buy the whole case, of course cherrypickers will make things more complicated.

They really should throw Wendy Richter in there as chase figure and maybe a really good accessory to go with her.

Now that I've had a little time to think about it I'd like to clarify/modify my original point. I do think it is great that we're maybe getting some figures we would not otherwise get (Backlund, Sherri) ... that in of itself is a good thing. If this helps more figures get made that would be hard to get made otherwise, that is definitely a good thing. But I do think these will be awfully hard to find and I'm 99 percent positive I'm going to have to resort to paying more on ebay for them because my Walmarts are absolutely brutal. It would be nice if RSC got a few cases and we had the chance to buy directly from RSC at a premium price (I'd be fine with $35-40 like the Shelton Chase) for those of us if our store selection stinks.

I swear, they love taking a giant crap all over Flashback collectors. this company sometimes. SOMETIMES...like this instance. How so? They introduced an entire Flashback line, Gamestop Retro exclusive line and Hall of Champions line. They're doing everything in their power to get Flashbacks out so they don't warm pegs like they have in the past. Sorry it might be a little extra work to get them, but if you aren't up for the task, you obviously don't want it bad enough. The alternative to these strategies is not having any Flashbacks at all. Reading this thread, it's almost like anything short of Mattel delivering the figures straight to your door on a very specific date isn't good enough. Look, all I'm saying here is if they are going to be in the elite line, put them in cases with the other elites but do something like do a .5 per case pack out. That way they don't warm. Plus, Walmart and Target's distribution is very shoddy. A lot of people already have to jump through hoops to get them. I'm lucky enough to have a job where I earn enough money to afford to go to Ebay and pick up these figures for a little more money. But I wish the regular elite line were regular elites. Available on Ringside and whatnot. I pay Ebay prices on the HOC and Flashbacks. I don't want to hunt in an area where there are a few stores that carry them and a lot of stores with horrible track records, so I understand I have to pay extra. It's just that I wish the regular line elites weren't done like this. Simple as that.

I see all of this scalper talk, and I’m left kind of scratching my head. I can’t think of any figures I’ve had a tough time finding. What recent WWE figures are going for insane prices on eBay?

OK - this is overkill at this point on the exclusives. I like them to a certain point, but not when it gets difficult to track.
