I like the nod to Hasbro, that Mattel is trying to do with these Hasbro style figures, but I just can’t get into them.
I grew up with the BCA style Jakks figures, but I’m sure if I had been around for the Hasbro days I’d love these.
The nostalgia of these are cool, but I just look at them and move on.

Anyone got the pic of Angle?
Braun looks amazing. Kinda like Skinner or Giant Gonzales. Zack Ryder looks just like a Hasbro.
Of course I know skin tone and material will be different. Those two look really good though.
Sheik looks like an AWA Remco. And I'm just not a fan of the Jeff figure. Looks okay, but blah.

Your bio says you were born in 1985, 5 and 6 when the Hasbros were at their peak, i would have thought that was the perfect age for them lol

Sheik looks like an AWA Remco. Agreed, on all those guys in that style. They look like crap off brand figs you would have found at discount stores. Don't look like Hasbros. I actually like the jumpers better than those.

Here is a better picture of the one I saw of HBK, a little more clear: Really like the Angle, glad they went with his debut look instead of the bald look. Not liking the HBK one. Not a fan of the chaps look, though, I understand why they did them (more current, and he did have 2 tights version in hasbro form). Head sculpt looks nothing like him.

Noooooooo!!! Angle would've been perfect to debut the suplex action. That's what I was hoping for when I asked if anyone had the picture.

The thing about Shawn though, is that the line stopped before they got an iconic look out. He was wearing hearts by Mania X. So anything from Mania X or specifically that Heartbreak Hotel period would really fall right into our Hasbro collections.
That being said, I think 96-98 Shawn Michaels is the single greatest total package performer in the history of pro wrestling. So I prefer that era, but if we're getting guys like Mabel, (94?) Diesel, USA Lex, etc., then early 94 HBK needs to be in that group as well. The chaps thing is just overall baffling. I can't say enough terrible things about it. It's not even a WM25 or 26 look if they wanted to do the chaps. And why does he have a 2010 Drew McIntyre head?
While I'm grinding, I have no idea why Ryder is in his Basic 10 gear. That's super weird and nobody has said a word about it. His Mania 32 look is awesome and that's the highlight of his entire career. That should have been a no-brainer. HBK and Ryder aren't even remotely current looks. So what's the justification for jumping all over the damn place with eras?

I didn’t have much at all growing up, so I never got the opportunity to go to places like Toys R Us. The first time that I ever stepped foot inside of a toy store was Kay-Bee Toys, that was in our local mall. I was around 10-11 years old at the time, so that would’ve been 1996-ish 👍🏻

The HBK is awful. One thing I haven't seen ANYONE mention is that the Retro heads are rubber, not the hard plastic that the bodies are made of -- or the hard plastic that the heads were made of in the original Hasbro. Am I the only one who doesn't like that as much -- they don't have that sheen!

I've gotta say, I'm surprised by all the hate the HBK Retro is getting... I really don't mind it being the chaps version (it's still an iconic HBK look).
I'll get me coat...

Honestly, I'd like if they did a mid 90's HBK with molded on gear, chaps, cowboy hat, jacket/robe or whatever you want to call the stuff he'd wear out. Same goes for Bret with a cool jacket during his IC run or first world title run.

I'm more bothered that the Retro Jericho is the modern/short-hair with scarf version - I'd have much preferred a long-haired WWE (or WCW) version...

It was his first match post Mania 12 as WWF Champion against King. Sign me up for at least 4 of those. I'm more bothered that the Retro Jericho is the modern/short-hair with scarf version - I'd have much preferred a long-haired WWE (or WCW) version... I totally agree with you. That being said, that's essentially the last current look Jericho we got in the Elite line. So at least it's not out of left field. My guess is that it's the only Jericho we're getting though unless he returns to active WWE after WrestleKingdom.

So HBK wearing chaps isn't just a 2000s thing. He was wearing chaps on his entrance back with Sherri, like late 1992. Hearts on his chaps cane later, 1996 ish. He started replacing the reflective mirror type stuff with hearts. Even wearing this red and white color stuff, albeit with lot more black thrown in.
I do realize the figure is of a modern look, but it has enough resemblance to Shawns look just a couple years after Hasbros quit being made. So I don't hate the look, just the mold.
Anyone... Knowing ANYTHING about the Hasbro line, who these are directed at, would've given him his prototype mold/action, regardless of the time period of his look.
Jericho could've been Lionheart from WCW, Conspiracy Jericho from WCW, or debut time period WWF Jericho (tights wise, not debut night pants/shirt) and it'd have been infinitely better than a 2016-2017 Jericho..
Still, I'm not having the Jericho.
A couple tweaks to this series and it could've been my favorite so far.
