I swear I saw a HHH ppv match where there was some outside brawling and a young Sheamus without the mustache was a security guard. Probably how he got his foot in the door while he was working the independents.Definitely. He debuted in ‘14 in MCW. Won their tag belts with Lio Rush in ‘15 I believe. Maybe he didn’t spend a decade out there like others, and MCW is one of the better Indy promotions, but it’s not as if he spent 3 weeks there and got signed to NXT. November 13th 2006 edition of RAW from Manchester, England when DX were banned from the arena so they brought tickets from Cryme Tyme (and HBK spoke “jive”, ugh) Sheamus and (I think) Wade Barrett were used as bodyguards when DX got to ringside and were confronted by Coach. Thank you!

That is surprising for me, never knew Sheamus wrestled in the indies. If I'm not mistaken, he feuded with Vampiro during his indy days.
A young Sheamus appeared in Angel, Devil, Hero, a Vampiro documentary from 2008.

Vampiro, my former brother in paint. We don't get guys like him anymore. I have to check out that documentary.

I dont know what Russo and Eric Bischoff were smoking when they came up with the blood and fire thing that seemed to last forever. That crazy feud shall be forever stricken from my memory!

Triple H himself was an Indy guy before he ever broke into WWE or WCW if you watch his DVD of Thy Kingdom Come you will see Triple H as an Indy guy

this is the opposite scenario, but I was totally blown away by the reemergence of Quebecer Pierre/PCO. just an amazing story of a guy getting his best runs at middle age and I wouldn’t have believed it could’ve been. Any chance you could link to any of his matches that are available online?

Ellsworth is the most indie wrestler that's ever been in WWE. Every small-time local show I go to has about three or four of him, just with varying levels of fatness.

I think I'm more surprised to learn that a wrestler hasn't worked the indies, especially within the confines of WWE.

Most wrestlers work the independent scene before going to WWE. Unless you are Brakus.
