So, as you may have seen in the Ringside Fest Thread the current sets are apparently going to be the final waves of each.
Is this good or bad news for us Brits?

I’m not sure
Personally I think the whole product needs an overhaul. Focusing on quality not quantity. Trim down to just Elites, Basics and Battlepacks. Integrate a nice selection of modern guys with NXT and legends, fewer repeats of the same characters
Then again, if Mattel are making good money with all the sub-lines then expect them to just be replaced with something new again

I don't see it being good news tbh. I'm taking away from the announcement that there'll be less flashbacks period now. Maybe 1 or 2 per couple of waves. The thing is the figures they released in the HOC series would have sold perfectly fine in the regular elite line. But they've shot themselves in the foot by making it store exclusives and terrible distribution.

I don't really get it to begin with. They just do the same series with a different name and it mainly ends in the same result

I don't really get it to begin with. They just do the same series with a different name and it mainly ends in the same result Wfigs has convinced Mattel that there’s a big market for figures of old wrestlers, and for premium figures with removable dress-up entrance gear etc. Whenever those figures get released, it turns out that market isn’t there, and retailers stop ordering the line. Mattel then renames the line to trick retailers into ordering it again. Basically, Mattel is tricking retailers into ordering figures that we tell them we want. U.K. retail has mostly been wise to it from the start and avoided ordering them, apart from that time we persuaded Smyths to order Hall of Fame, then ignored them on the shelves. And now Argos have NXT.

I have mixed feelings... obviously, they were a pain in the @$$ and more expensive for us to get hold of, so I wouldn't miss that. But if it was the only way of getting figures like Mean Gene, Syxx, Alundra Blayze, Harley Race, Ron Simmons etc., then I'm all for it... I'd rather the figures were released and be expensive/hard to get, than not released at all.
I'm not sure what will happen to Flashbacks in general now though... it would be great if they went back to having 2-3 every series in the main Elite line, but then figures like Sid, Tugboat, Regal etc. warmed pegs like crazy - and it got to a point where the Flashbacks were always being left behind and discounted.
So I'm not sure what the answer is... I realize the market for Flashbacks/Legends is a lot smaller these days, but I like that they're still trying to get figures like Backlund and Sherri out. The "chase" concept might be a good idea for certain figures... rather than them being exclusive to certain stores though, I would try releasing them to everywhere/everyone - but still have them 1 in every 3 or 4 cases. At least that way, people who want them would get a chance at finding them - and hopefully they wouldn't warm pegs (a la Tugboat) for months on end.

Its bad news for sure. There will be less flashbacks being made, they cant fit the elites from those lines in the main line, we had 3 series of HOC and FBs, how long would it take to get those ib the main line?

True plus they just can't fit them in the main line full stop as they're already planned many series in advance.
