I have a LOT of his books, picked up from a (now) incarcerated former buddy.
Most are in great condition and some are first prints/pressings so I intend to sell a lot. BUT, in the mean time, there are a lot (not counting the "Readers" or poetry comps.) that I haven't read. Does anybody have any previous knowledge of his work and a recommendation? I have a lot, so there's a good chance I have one you may recommend. I was considering Hot Water Music.
Thanks!

I know little of Bukowski's work, and poems are not my bag, but he is a bit of a renegade and cultural icon. Read as many of them as you can and see if you get anything good out of it. Can't hurt, and a good topic of convo.

Post Office is probably his best and most known work followed by Ham on Rye, Women, Love Is a Dog From Hell, Pulp, and Notes of a Dirty Old Man. Notes of a Dirty Old Man and Women I feel like aren't as good as the rest. Women is very quotable though. Not as good as the rest but very quotable.

I have a first pressing of Pulp on Black Sparrow I was looking to sell, but perhaps I'll read through it. I have Notes somewhere as well. No copy of Women, however. I have read and enjoyed Post Office...that's one copy that is beat up. Re-read it in fact.
