The Gold Standard version is better to me. But, it's obviously pricey. I won't be getting it unless I managed to see it in stores.

Chase but I would have preferred a blue and white short Shelton

I prefer the gold standard one. Theres gonna chase versions that IMO wont be better. Example, i prefer the current Hawkins than the chase variant

If I had to choose one over the other, definitely Gold Standard. But I own both.

Maybe Mattel feels otherwise, but I think chasing the blue gear of Hawkins would have been better for them. But I'm glad that's not the direction they took and Blue was easy to just order from RSC.

Answer:
Neither, don't support these chase figures because mattel will continue this trend.

I have 2 Gold Standard Shelton basics, so the bald Shelton was the one I wanted more.
But if I find the variant at a decent price, or hopefully at retail, I will buy it.

Wish the chase was a team angle Shelton

Wish the chase was a team angle Shelton That would be an entirely new figure, not really the purpose of a Chase figure. But maybe there can be a Team Angle Shelton with a chase in a different color variation of it.

Both attires are great but I never liked Shelton with blonde hair.

Current > Gold Standard
I'm bias against Shelton's Gold Standard years, mostly because of this cringy promo from '08:
Doesn't help that the variant doesn't even have any gold paint.
I'm tempted to pick up an extra Shelton in white to make his Mania 21 gear.

It's simple - Shelton had a much better run and was more over as the Gold Standard. His current run has been kind of... meh (I mean, you wouldn't really notice too much if he was cut tomorrow).

I loved the gold standard gimmick, but I don't love the elite version of this figure. I voted for current.
