According to this article, there are two different ideas being tossed around for WM 35. Vince's idea is to... Have Braun defeat Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. And then go on to face Drew McIntyre at WM. Where McIntyre would win his first World Championship in WWE.
Triple H's idea is for...Brock to retain at the Royal Rumble and then go on to face Seth Rollins for the Universal title. Where Rollins would defeat Brock to become Universal champion.
I'm personally torn on which of these I like better. I would like to see Braun get a victory over Brock. And I'd especially LOVE to see Drew McIntyre leave WM as champion. BUT, I kinda think Rollins conquering the Beast is more of a WM moment. And If the go with Rollins, Drew could be the guy that defeats him for thr title at SummerSlam.
What would you prefer?

Clearly the correct move to make is Rollins defeating Lesnar. Why give Braun a 2-3 month reign? Pointless.
Plus, it’s still too early for Drew.

There was also a rumour of The Rock winning the Rumble and facing Brock at WM for the World Title in the main event.
Now that would be a huge rematch from 16 years ago plus one of the biggest WM main events in history. A real money match. I also wouldn't mind Brock/Drew, Brock/Seth or even Braun/Drew or Braun/Seth.

Strowman getting a 2 month reign would do him no favours. As far as Mcintyre goes he should enter Mania as champion and drop it to Strowman. Dethroning Lesnar at the Rumble would be a huge deal for him and since he's a heel he would be better suited as a transition champion for Strowman.

This is Rollins all day. The way you get something out of Brock is to actually let someone the fans want to see beat him, actually beat him. Not to mention, Seth is the guy and has been since January or so when he got super hot leading up to the Chamber. They pretty much cheated us out of the Brock vs Rollins singles match with the Battleground match. So this is the match I’ve been waiting for since Rumble 2015.
Feed Braun to Drew at Mania and then build Drew up towards SummerSlam. Rollins vs McIntyre would be amazing for the title. They can always hand Drew MITB too. Plenty of opportunity to put the title on Drew that doesn’t force them to waste a full year of momentum with Rollins, which is really just an extension of momentum that’s existed with him since Extreme Rules 2016.

I'm siding with Vince.
Personally if I was booking, Id mix em both up. Braun gets the win and takes the title to mania we get Braun vs Rollins vs McIntyre. Rollins can take the pin as he's probably the person who would take the least damage from a loss.
I'd have Braun retain though.

Finally give Braun the title, just to turn around and drop it a couple months later? Nah. No thanks. If you wanted Braun to win a title at a Rumble, it should've been this year's. Besides, it's Rollins' time, he's earned it more than anyone on the roster this year.
I say, if you want to crown Drew, wait until SummerSlam.

It's time for Drew to conquer The Beast and win the Universal Championship.
After that, McIntyre vs Rollins.

As much as I would dread the references about Seth doing it for Da Big Dawg ad nauseum, Rollins slaying da Beast would put a nice little bow on their sorta-rivalry since Seth cashed in at WM 2015 and follow thru with the Battleground rematch that was interrupted by d*ck kick Undertaker. Braun has cooled off mightily since his heel turn (thanks Vince) and needs a little rebuild and allegedly some surgical maintenance.
Like others said, McIntyre has plenty of time to get there. Give him a massive name like Rock or Cena or Taker or Trips himself to take out at Mania and bring forward a banging feud with Rollins over the summer of 2019.
