they are literally trolling us lmao Well thanks for spoiling the winner of the gauntlet match for those of us international fans who have not had time to watch all of RAW yet. I didn't realise when opening this thread that someone would post something that has literally nothing to do with the thread in it! If I wanted to know the results of last night's RAW, I'd go to the RAW thread. I should not have to expect to find them in here. Thank you for your total lack of consideration.

WWE and worried?! 😂🤣 If they didn't fear Lucha Underground, they certainly won't be afraid of New Japan either. ... Seriously? Lucha Underground is like a tenth as big as NJPW. That's like saying "I wasn't afraid of a mosquito, so why should I be afraid of an alligator?" Seriously? Lucha Underground is better than njpw and I highly doubt your claim is accurate.

They sold out 50,000 seats at the Tokyo Dome this year. Lucha Underground is a niche promotion that is scraping by on the skin of its teeth. LU isn't even bigger than PWG.

They are undoing the brand split. Again. There are more brand splits than BIG SHOW heel turns and that's saying something!

The big plan is going to be having The Rock win the rumble. I sincerely hope not.

They sold out 50k seats with an undercard that is absolute trash and storylines straight out of Vince Russo’s playbook. We should be counting our stars that Minoru Suzuki hasn’t tried to chop off someone’s penis...not yet, anyway.

So many things wrong the product, but for me it comes back to the belts. Not one belt means anything, and hasn’t done for years. I’m not just referring to Brock. Start there - have us believe the wrestlers actually want to be a champion and then build from that, at this point I couldn’t even name all the champions. Just my opinion

This is what happens when there is no real competition. WCW going under was the worst thing to happen in the wrestling business. We had 10 years with stacked rosters for a bit but now the WWE and the WWE wrestlers themselves do not really need to compete with anyone. No one needs to raise their game. The writers don't have to compete with anyone and the wrestlers can't really stand out with all this crap 50-50 booking and bland storylines. Nothing will turn around until there is another major company. I 100% agree with you. The 50/50 stuff is garbage. Wrestlers taking turns to get wins. There is no clear structure to the roster. When I think of the current "top" guys the list is too long and I can not separate the field other than the top three. Eg: 1. Lesnar 2. Reigns 3. Strowman 4..... - AJ Styles - Daniel Bryan - Seth Rollins - Shinske Nakamura - Kevin Owens - Randy Orton - Samoa Joe - John Cena - The Miz - Jeff Hardy - Drew McIntyre - Rey Mysterio - Dean Ambrose It's not crazy to think any of these guys could be booked to beat each other. Face or heel. I grew up in the 80s/90s watching wrestling. They never booked Jake Roberts vs Jim Duggan vs Brutus Beefcake. All massively over faces on the midcard. Some problems I have with the current crappy product: - every decent name gets the heavyweight/universal belt at some stage. It's like a participation award now instead of something for only the top guys. Hogan-Andre-DiBiase-Hogan-Savage-Hogan-Warrior-Slaughter-Hogan-Undertaker-Hogan-Flair-Savage-Flair. It has a familiar theme. Those are the champions from 1984 to 1992. 9 years, 8 champions. 5 times for Hogan, 2 times for Savage, 2 times for Flair. All massive stars (Slaughter is debatable in 91) - gimmicks don't really exist anymore. The Undertaker is easily one of the most popular wrestlers still, I wonder if he'd get the same reaction of he was Mark Calloway? They don't even seem to have nicknames anymore that they use front and center, Hacksaw, The Barber, the Snake, Macho Man, Million Dollar Man, Texas Tornado, Hitman, Anvil, Mr Perfect. - attires are mostly bland. Most of them wear black - wrestlers seem to switch from heel to face too often and without a decent storyline. Remember Jake Roberts' heel turn on Savage? Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty? Savage turning on Hogan? - theme music all sounds the same. Music for people that wear Harley Davidson and Jack Daniels t-shirts... - too many small guys. Most of these guys are the same size as Marty Jannetty. Seeing AJ Styles hang with Brock Lesnar is stupid. It'd be like Marty Jannetty hanging with Sycho Sid. Or the Blue Blazer going toe to toe with Andre. - the belts are garbage now and have no history - brand split is confusing. Why do they need to split the roster???

I could go on and on. You seem like you’d be better off watching old tapes instead of the current product, which is completely fine, but don’t hate on it just for the sake of it...

They are not used in the same way. "Macho Man" Randy Savage can be called by his "name" Randy Savage or by his nickname Macho Man. Look at his figure packaging. Ted DiBiase, Jake Roberts, Jim Duggan, Bret Hart etc are all the same. Now take a look at a Dean Ambrose Mattel figure... where does it say "Lunatic Fringe" on the package? That's right it doesn't. The writing has been terrible for awhile now. Ever since they purchased WCW. They still get a huge pop from the Undertaker,a character created back in 1990 by Bruce Prichard. The only success in the mid to late 2000's had come from returning legends, HBK, Undertaker, Kane, Rock, Triple H, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. No one wants to see these flip flop unmasked luchadors do highly choreographed moves week after week.
