Cinematic stuff isn’t for me. Especially when they should have just done Blood and Guts instead.

Cinematic stuff isn’t for me. Especially when they should have just done Blood and Guts instead. well i think we can all agree on that. as a collective, i think that all of us would have preferred blood and guts over the stadium stampede. i was just curious as to what put others off about it. in my opinion, the money in the bank cinematic match is still my favorite above everything else, be it wwe, aew, impact, etc. as far as that kind've match goes. but i would still go as far to say that i liked the stadium stampede more than the boneyard match and everything else in that same category besides mitb. i know everyone has a different opinion with those kind of matches, but if we're rating overall entertainment, stadium stampede still gets that second place for me. it featured a lot of different aspects to keep the viewer in mind whether that be what's happening, or who was involved. i liked the mitb up until the roof spots, then they kinda lost me. and i see aew's pool spot in the same way.

so, what's the deal with the stadium stampede? did ya'll just genuinely not like it, or did the drowning spot immediately after shad's death kill it for you? i'm not big on the cinematic crap that's been done during the covid era but i certainly had fun watching it. I generally don't like gimmick matches, so I was very not into it. Then it happened, and I loved it.

I liked it so I really can't offer much constructive lol.
On another note, Shanna started her journey today. So a little over two weeks from now she'll be in the US. Curious how long she's staying for.

I had a blast watching Stadium Stampede. Sometimes being entertained is needed instead of taking everything going on super seriously. Was still early in pandemic where everyone was still trying to figure out how to best present shows and matches, especially for PPV. Personally there was a lot of things on that show that didn’t connect with me, but having Stampede to close out the night left me feeling pretty good after how much I enjoyed it. It seems like cinematic matches have run its course, which ultimately is probably for the best because the more it’s done the more duds will occur, and at least for me they were all duds besides Boneyard, Funhouse, and Stampede. Stampede was also less cinematic than the WWE ones by not having background music and others things to make it more dramatic. They may have made some edits for something like Hardy changing personas in the pool for example, but we saw what was being shot on camera as if it was taking place live.

Not knocking anyone who enjoyed it. Just wanted to make a tongue in cheek joke. Wrestling itself is pretty silly and niche. Enjoy what you enjoy!

I loved the Stadium Stampede match. It was stupid, but it presented itself as such. A drunk Adam Page rolling over Jericho with the chalk cart might be the funniest (intentionally, anyways) thing I had ever seen in wrestling, until the Inner Circle t-shirt promo, and the discount on PWT, the following Dynamite. It was too clever for wrestling.

So looks like Shanna is staying on a small island near Cuba for her two weeks before coming into the states. Guess if ya gotta go somewhere for two weeks may as well go chill on a beach. 👍

Bit late on this one but man, Miro's debut was so disappointing. He should've just destroyed someone, not went 10 minutes in a tag match with Sonny/Joey, who are mediocre at best. Miro has the potential to be in the main event in a company like AEW, so this was a bad start.
On a positive note, everything regarding Moxley and Kingston was decent and I hope they come back to it in the future.

I agree that that match was disappointing, but I think expectations for him were too high. It'd be cool if he became a main event talent, but it'll be a bit. I think his ceiling in AEW is the TNT title.

It's hard to think of anyone in the company who looks better than him physically, he can work as good as anyone in the company as well. Let me say before I make this next comment that I love MJF, I think he's great, but if MJF can be a main event heel challenging for the world title, then so can Miro. Along with Moxley, Jericho and FTR, Miro is one of the few ex-WWE guys that I'm interested in.

If he gives full effort, I'd strap a rocket to the guy and have him on top. I just haven't seen that yet. He has all the potential in the world (anyone who says otherwise is flat out wrong), but he still needs to prove himself in AEW.

The thing with Miro, as well as most the WWE released guys is we actually have no idea how good they are in-ring, for most, we've never seen them have a match that was just the idea spitballed between the worker and their opponent(s).

I wouldn't be very motivated if my debut match was tagging with Kip Sabian against Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela. 3 guys he should be squashing on his own instead of going 10 minutes with them.

A professional would do their best no matter what in a debut. Like I said, I'm pulling for the guy, but I'm far from impressed so far. He belongs in the mid-card right now. We'll talk again when he turns on Kip. lol

That's exactly why I thought it was garbage. I thought I was going to get a hardcore match in a football stadium with all kinds of locations for carnage to go down with a bunch of guys who could make it happen. That was the big main event I wanted. When it came time for the Stadium Brawl, I got a movie. I've said before on here that had they advertised that as a cinematic match I wouldn't have bought the PPV. Big Swole - Britt Baker had their "Tooth and Nail's Match" that I'm not as vocal about because it's not a feud or match I cared about. I'd still buy a PPV if there's (in my mind) a throw away cinematic match on the card I'm not interested in. When it's the main event with a bunch of main event guys though and you don't advertise what it's going to be? That was bullsh*t. They're "not like WWE." They're "more sports oriented." "Wins and losses matter" ................. And then THAT match happens. That's currently the biggest kick in the balls I've received from AEW. Vince and the WWE have kicked me in the d!ck so many times that my balls were up in my stomach for a while. AEW's let me down a few times, but that night they used my sac as a punching bag while they practised Muay Thai. I was NOT PLEASED.

Miro should be booked like Taz was in ECW. He can sell better, so the matches could be a little more competitive when the opponent deserves it, but Miro should be breaking people every week. No tag matches. No Kip Sabian. No selling for Joey Janela or Sonny Kiss.
He should have easily laid out Kiss and Janela, cut a promo saying "this is not what I came here for," turned on Sabian, put him through a table as Penelope Ford watched, stared her down like he was going to hurt her, and walked out.
