- How loose I'm willing to be? Making sense with the stipulations? I mean ... we ARE talking about "rules" in a fake sport right? Do you criticize the teen for checking on Jason after he knocks Jason out in a horror movie?

Like everybody else I laugh at the teen for being a complete idiot because what they are doing makes absolutely no sense. It's bad writing with no thought process put into. Sound familiar?



- Ok, I'll play along. In a fantasy world where Omega won ... he'd then go try and get it from White just like MJF is doing. Problem solved. White would say no.

So MJF loses his World Title to Kenny Omega instead of the person who stole it from him, and then Omega beats Jay White....... MJF doesn't even get a match with the person who stole his World Title? Or he does, but it's not for the World Title because Jay White no longer has it? No. You were right when you said there was no chance MJF was losing to Omega. That is a Wembley Stadium main event caliber match that could have gone either way, but they just gave it to us at a time when the finish was absolutely 100% already known. They can go and main event Wembley next year and burn the house down, but that won't change the fact that this idea was a bad one with little thought put into it.


- You can't fault AEW for not being around a long time like WWE has been. So it is indeed impressive what MJF has done. You're just comparing it to oranges while AEW is the apple.

Had the company been around for 38 years and they were celebrating their new "title reign record" of 346 whole entire days it would also be lame. They can't even say ONE year. Gunther has been IC Champ for almost TWO years. Over a year and a half. Over 500 days. MJF is at 346. They wasted a Double or Nothing main event match on this, and gave away the finish. That's bad decision making. I can fault them for that. 

- You are REALLY hung up on AEW writing Jay White with this belt aren't you? I can't even debate you because that's your answer for everything. Jay White has it. That's the storyline. You're going to have to accept it.

Is Hobbs going to fold for Jay White too if he beats MJF? He's not just going to take his belt or demand it? Powerhouse Hobbs is going to jump through Jay White's hoops and abide by his "stipulations?" I don't think so. I don't think Wardlow would either. I don't think Adam Copeland would go into his first AEW World Title match knowing if he wins this monumental match he won't even be able to celebrate it with his belt. I don't think Kenny Omega would have celebrated stopping MJF from breaking his pathetic World Title reign by standing there without his title either.

All of those top stars are simping for Jay White as long as they're chasing MJF for the gold they don't actually win by beating him. None of these guys would go into a match knowing they aren't going to have the belt if they win. Tony Khan would because he's softer than wet toilet paper, but the characters he's writing for wouldn't. MJF may be trying to play the nice guy and is trying to do the right thing instead of running the BCG over with a car or something like his character would have done last year. The "he stole my belt" story works because of it. It doesn't work when you start to include monsters like Wardlow and Hobbs though.   

You're calling it "intertwining stories" but I think it's deeper than that. I think Tony is trying to get MJF on TV as much as possible because he's trying to help his ratings. He's not a good enough booker to figure out how to do it though so we're getting this thoughtless mess. MJF feuding with everyone every other segment might get and keep an audience. I think that's what Tony is trying to get at here.

And that's fine, except when you're dealing with the World Title there should be some substance, and this case the substance was rushed, last minute bad decision making. A 5 star banger when you already know who the winner is is great, but it's not as great as a 5 star banger where you have that added unknown element of surprise. Star power wise this was a MASSIVE MATCH and they gave away the finish.

And they didn't give away the finish because MJF is unstoppable like the way we always knew Goldberg was going to win. No. They gave it away because had Kenny won it would have made absolutely no sense going forward from there. 

You ignored me when I mentioned this before so I'll try again. Would it have been a better idea to have MJF pass Kenny's record, make a smartass/insulting comment about it, Omega comes back with a "that belt and record will be mine again someday" response and they save the match for a bigger date where the ending isn't already a foregone conclusion?  

Is that a better match with more potential than a match on Collision over an unimpressive "record" with a weeks worth of build and the finish already in your lap?
