Because business is competition? As the company grows (if it does), the next step will be to directly compete with it’s opposition... the WWE. Again, that’s assuming this gains enough recognition to do so. It’ll be competing with ROH though. That’s for sure.Exactly. ROH, Impact, MLW and maybe New Japan. That's AEW's competition. But WWE? Maybe someday. But not anytime soon, if ever. Im interested in seeing what AEW contracts are like. Are the company exclusive? Can wrestlers go elsewhere? Are they "forced" to choose AEW event over something like Wrestle Kingdom....Ill be interested to see if they try to play hard ball with a ROH or NJPW on talent and what those companies reactions will be.

I bet itll be similar to the contracts ROH has, or Impact and MLW. Theyre under contract, but can work other indies if AEW approves. They just couldn't go to WWE til their contract ends. I think thats how AEW will do their contracts

I see them most likely going on WGN if they get a TV deal that a lot of people would have heard of. They already did a show there with their All In preshow. Not sure how good their numbers were ratings wise there, but thats the channel i see them going in. I wanna make fun of these mark dirtsheets like Meltzer and Keller, but since they were on Starrcast, and especially Meltzer having good connections to the Bucks and Cody (..........f*** him.......), i would take his word and Kellers as 90% true.

Their going to have to throw around some serious money to get exclusive contracts. Plus you'd think that Cody and the Bucks would still want to go to Japan. They have to be making a killing there.

The only way this gets on a Turner station is if they buy a late night timeslot the usually reserved for infomercials.

Truly exclusive, full time, WWE money, size deals only make sense if they have a touring schedule with enough dates to justify the expense. That may not be realistic right off the bat. But this roster construction should be interesting to watch. I don't think there's anything comparable. Other promotions haven't had these kind of financial resources. And even when TNA did have money, they were more obsessed with scooping up anyone with a WWE tie than talented performers who they could grow and develop. If AEW is able to mix in some recognizable names (not necessarily in an in-ring role) with some talented workers, it could be interesting. From the bits we're hearing, AEW's approach seems very polished. This isn't your run of the mill carny indie. This is a successful, multi-billion dollar company with other investments in live entertainment. And you can bet that those relationships will open doors for tv or broadcast contracts that Impact or LU could never get in a million years just making cold pitches to networks. What that means as a wrestling product is anyone's guess. But from a business perspective? This is something to take seriously.

Dear wrestling gods... Please put Cyrus and Joey Styles on commentary. Might I add Joel Gertner?

WGN seems more realistic. At least i have the channel on Sling, so if theyre in a good timeslot, ill tune in. I just wish some fans would treat this company as just another company that'll offer what WWEs main roster lacks in, instead of marking out and making this look like WWE will finally have competition because a multi billionaire is the money mark who'll pay for Cody and the Young Bucks next project. I mean im happy for the Young Bucks (coughf***Codycough), but Id rather be realistic about things than to overhype their potential. Like i was wrong about AEW ever becoming a thing, if im wrong and they become competition, ill be the first to say im wrong.

Was kind of hoping Davey Boy Jr would join but he went to MLW. They’ll probably make a New Hart foundation with Pillman, Teddy Hart, and Davey. Excited to see who signs here

Excited to see who signs here mlw has done a good job with the new hart foundation, but I agree, would be great to see them involved with AEW. especially Pillman.

Really looking forward to who signs with AEW.Lots of former world champions and main eventers on the open market right now with Aries,Del Rio,Ibushi,Jericho,Omega,Punk,Richards,RVD,Ryback,Storm...ect if the rumors are true that both Jericho & Goldberg sign up having those two face off at Double or Nothing would be a pretty big main event.Again if they sign a Goldberg/Jericho match up or possibly the once dream match up of Goldberg/Ryback could be pretty big and really help sell the show.

Are the Hart Foundations contracts exclusive to MLW? A Elite vs Hart Foundation fued would be great.
Edit: they can wrestle for other promotions but have to prioritize MLW dates.

Omega & Bucks together are The Elite.
Omega & Ibushi together are Golden Lovers.
All 4 combined are The Golden Elite.
The 'E' in AEW is gold, hmm..

If AEW lands both Omega & Ibushi that would be pretty solid, but just a gut feeling if that WWE offer is legit think Omega goes to WWE for a few year and then maybe makes the jump to AEW after his contract is up and with AEW now having a few years under its belt.As far as Ibushi goes I guess that depends on if he was to sign a real contract with a company and where he's place on the card. With Omega leaving NJPW I think that opens a spot up at the top of the card and for Ibushi if he stays while in AEW don't know if he would be a main event player or not.Guess its up to the money and position in whatever company he picks.
