Why did they make him Mr. America again? Was it cause of Marvel and the Hulk name? Although they immediately went to another Marvel hero (Captain America), as a middle finger to Marvel. I believe so.Then legal issues came over that gimmick itself. So combo of pay issues and the legal stuff ended Mr. America

Hogan was 50, Piper was almost 50 and Vince was almost 60. Amazing that none of these guys (I can't in good conscience say "men") ever grew up.

I second the vote for Rodney. He aged 60 years in 20.

I’ll go with Repo Man. I was a dumb kid, it took me way too long to see it was Smash.

Repo ManThis sneaky individual would make his WWF debut during the Fall of 1991.Right away he was thrusted into the Dibiase/Virgil feud over the $ belt.It was right before SSeries that year in which Repo would cost Virgil the belt which would set up the tag match at This Tuesday in Tx which pitted him and Dibiase against Virgil/Tito.In the end the heels would prevail. The feud would end in early 92 with him then focusing on the WWF Title which was up for grabs in the Rumble that year.He didnt have a long run however in the match as he was eliminated by Big Boss Man fairly quickly. From there it was on to Mania VIII in the Hoosier Dome as he teamed with Mountie and The Nasty Boys as they lost to Boss Man,Sarge,Duggan and old foe Virgil. That Spring his next feud would come in the form of the British Bulldog. This would stem from his hanging him with his rope post match on an episode of Challenge.Following this feud, he would run into an old tag partner in the form of Crush at SSlam at Wembley. In the end he got Kona crushed. That Fall the gimmick would be on it last legs as did nothing of note.Only thing I can remember is him losing to Tatanka on the SSeries Showdown. He would have one more feud however in early 93 with Randy Savage after stealing his hat on Raw. Randy would get it back quickly a week later.Following this he would briefly get a new outfit with him teaming up with Damien Demento as they lost to the Bushwhackers. He would be gone soon after. Overall...Fun gimmick here I thought. Loved his ''Whats mine is mine and whats yours is mine to'' line.In shoots he said he was pushing to turn the gimmick babyface but I just dont see how that wouldve worked. But anyway like I said fun gimmick.Crazy to think he was Smash at one point then you see em here as Repo. What are your memories/thoughts of Repo Man? share them below!

I had to check out thehistoryofwwe.com's ring results page, and saw that I was apparently there for Darsow's first outing as Repo Man at a Challenge taping on July 30, 1991 in Portland, ME. According to the site he actually worked a few house shows as Smash after this though. I remember my uncle's brother-in-law coming to this show with us and swearing up and down that this new guy was Jake Roberts.
