Vader(WWF)The big man would enter the Federation in January 96 as an entrant in the Rumble. He would show dominance for the time he was in there until he met up with eventual winner HBK in which he was then dumped out with ease along with Yokozuna. He would get his heat back by attacking em after the fact but this was the first bad sign in this run here. The following night on Raw he would attack Gorilla Monsoon in a real shocking angle considering Gorilla's health at the time.He would be''suspended'' in result but in reality he had to have surgery. He would return the following month at IYH and would attack former Camo Cornette member Yokozuna which would kick start his first feud in the company.Originally it was gonna be the two battling it out one on one at Mania but in the end it was changed to a 6 man tag with Vader,Owen and Bulldog against Yoko,Ahmed and Jake.In the end the heels would win. That Spring his big push would continue as he would defeat Razor Ramon in his final WWF match before heading off to WCW at IYH and also would end the feud with Yoko in the win column at May's IYH.The attack on Yokos leg in the build felt like old times in terms of Vader in beast mode.At the KOTR he would lose in the semi finals to Jake Roberts but once again would get heat back by attacking em post match. This would lead to his ascension into the WWF Title picture as at IYH that July he would pin HBK to gain a shot at the belt at SSlam. Post match though he would run away from the champ...Yeah this feud isn't off to a good start. The big match would happen at SSlam with Shawn humiliating the big man by yelling at em at times in the match. In the end Vader would fail to win the gold. This right here is where it all went south humanoids. That Fall he would lose to Sid in an attempt to get another shot and for the remainder of the year would be just there basically on the roster. Early 97 he would see some resurgence in a feud with Undertaker with resulted in not only a big win at the Rumble but a new manger in Paul Bearer. Weird pairing here but I digress. He would once again try his hand at the WWF Title at the Final 4 PPV but would once again come up short.Awesome match here btw.Next up would be teaming up with old foe in Mick Foley aka Mankind as they fought Bulldog/Owen at Mania for the tag belts but in the end would come up short. The bad luck would continue into the Spring as he would be locked up in Kuwait for putting his hands on a TV host after he called wrestling fake.He would then enter a feud with Ken Shamrock with the match taking place at IYH.These two pulled no punches thats for sure.Vader would once again take the L here. He would one more time challenge for the big one at the Canadian Stampede against Taker but again no cigar. Following this they would turn em babyface as he helped Patriot in his feud with the Hart Foundation.Bearer also would be quietly axed as his manager as a result. They would meet the heels at Badd Blood in a flag match but once again it'd be the same result. He would then enter a feud with Goldust that would last until the Rumble in which he would finally get a big win. He was over huge in this one to where it looked like it could be a resurgence. But no as he would feud with Kane at the next IYH in a L with him taking a wrench to the face putting him out for a few months. The feud would conclude at Over the Edge that May in a mask vs mask match with Kane once again getting the better of em.Post match Vader frustrated would call himself a ''big fat piece of sh**''. This right here was the final blow.He would pretty much be a jobber until the end of his run here in meaningless feud with Mark Henry and Bradshaw. His last match would come in October to Edge. Overall...A run that shouldve been so much more but in the end was a failure and its a damn shame. The HBK feud really did em in to the point of no return. Some gems though like the 4 way,Shamrock match and Taker match in Calgary. But man if only he was built up like his previous runs... What are your memories of Vader's WWF run?Share em below!

For whatever reason, it seems that Vince soured on Vader quickly. I remember watching a shoot interview with Vader, he said he was supposed to be out 6-8 months due to surgery, then he was supposed to start his feud with HBK, but they called and told him to be back by WrestleMania - which was only 2 months. He said he wasn't anywhere near ready to wrestle again, but they told him he had to. Shawn not liking working with him didn't help either. Vader also said that he hated that they made him run from Shawn, he said it looked like he was scared of HBK, which wasn't what he was used to with WCW and Japan. Either way, after not winning the title at SummerSlam, it was pretty much over for him.

Vader should have been a monster. So sad how he was treated. He did come back from injury too early which for sure hurt him

Was aware of Vaders reputation before he came to WWF, but this would have been my first exposure to him. Man so underwhelming.
Out with the Final Four match, can’t really think of a memorable match of his (well not for the right reasons at least).
Sorry, not a positive post by me but still a bit angry at how bad his run was.

Poor Vader. I felt he was (mostly) treated like a background character in the WWF. He could have been utilised so much better.

Angel of Death
AOD would get his start in Stampede in 86 where he would face mainstays of the time like Bad News Allen and Owen Hart the latter having a little feud with.He would be gone by years end with the big man then going to Japan briefly before heading off to Bill Watts UWF.Most notable during this time would be where he would start the infamous taps entrance plus would be the bodyguard for the Freebirds for a spell. With UWF being sold to JCP in 87, AOD would transfer over where he would mainly be a jobber.By 88 he would have a stint in WCCW but once again would do nothing of note. He would return to JCP once more but this time not as AOD but as a ''Russian'' in Paul Jones Army with him having a big win at Starrcade as along with Jack Victory as the Assassins would defeat Ivan Koloff and JYD.In 89 he would return to Stampede during its final days and in 90 would return to more old stomping grounds in WCCW where hen would have some better luck this time around as he would win the TX Heavyweight belt that Summer before losing it by years end to Kevin Von Erich. For the next 4/5 years he would have stints in both WCW and GWF with him retiring for good in 1995.He would lead a private life following this as you didnt hear from em at all.He would pass away in 2007 in his early 50s Overall...Nice to add another forgotten name to the gimmick archives here. The taps entrance will always be what I remember em most by What are your memories of The Angel of Death? Share em below!
