Hello all, I think this idea came about in regards to wrestling figs awhile back, but outside of those, are there any figures any of you missed out on when they first came out, for any reason (exclusives included), and are just too much money to pay now?
The Warriors figures are my main ones. I cannot say I had seen them around, though I think for about $30 back in the day they had a certain Fury Moc, but I always wanted the blue one (dirty or not didn't bother me). That set runs for toooooo much now, but maybe I'll save up for them one day.
I know I could have picked up all the Hanson (Slap Shot) figures back in my Kmart shopping days, but knew nothing of the flick and then learned to love them way later on. Bobby Orr! Bloody versions would be nice Moc, but high prices and yellowing of blisters is kind of a bummer. Did get me the Bob and Doug Mckenzies back then though.....
Going only to local cons I missed out on a couple con exclusives from other states that Kevin Smith did, and one that Twiztid did, and not to say they are expensive now, I just don't know which all they are to have the complete collection.
The last one is this Crow statue with the flaming base. That thing was jaw dropping, but a c-note was too rich for a 16 year old kid with a budget. It was some kind of specific count of the run, they had a word for it, but I am at a loss for what they called the first few or last few.....anyhoo, I have since seen a bronze one that I'd shell out for instead, if I can find one complete.
I know that was a lot, but I wanted to share a few different areas of interest. Thanks guys. I look forward to hearing yalls thoughts. Cheers.

Ugh, the one that haunts me still to this day (even though it was close to 20 years ago) was missing out on the World of Springfield Series 1 Lisa Simpson.

You probably did all the mailaways too like thr homer bowling and all of those? My cousin was deeep into those. Fresh line. Always liked them. I see they still fetch a pretty penny moc.

The Mattel Movie Masters The Dark Knight Rises figures. They are super expensive now. I really should have bought Survival Suit Batman when I saw it. Various 12 Inch GI Joe's that are first responders. Temple Guard figure from The Temple of Doom wave. That was the only Temple of Doom figure that I saw at retail and I didn't buy it. I still to this day do not have any Temple of Doom figures. Iron Man Mark I from the first Iron Man movie. I later ended up getting the 3.75 inch one from the Iron Man 2 series.

I really never missed out on figures until Mezco one:12 line. With those I missed out on these... Special Ops Punisher I had it in my cart but when I was trying to check out their site had traffic issues and it was gone by the time their checkout screen finally opened.
Knightmare Batmam I didn’t know he was up until after it sold out.
And both are still very touchy subjects with me. lol
I also waited to long on Mezco One:12 Green Arrow and the red costume DareDevil figures.
Oh I guess I lied because I also missed out on the Mattel Batman Begins Movie Masters Fear Toxin Ghul Batman figures.
Then there’s the Mezco NYCC ‘19 Batman vs Black Mask and the same Comic Con Neca Green Lantern/Predator set.

Toybiz Juggernaut Variant Prototype Figure I won on auction from ebay for around $750, I had the money for it but my mom told me a few days earlier to not spend all my money. I thought of it and canceled my win and ended up spending all my money on furniture that I could have bought later. A huge regret for me for sure as there's only about 3 in the world.
Phoenix Five Cyclops Prototype Figure I saw 3 listings for it on eBay and never had the chance to get at least one. Still a figure that haunts me because if it was listed now, i definitely would have the funds to buy it. At the moment I only have the prototype head and body, the official chest piece is what I don't have so I had to settle for a custom one.
Rouge Prototype Figure I saw the 1 listing for it and wasn't able to get it. There's only 1 MOC in the world and I wish I had the funds to buy it but it would have cost about my whole collection at the time to afford it.

Jakks Dragon Ball Z Piccolo & Nail 2-Pack Back in 2005 i believe, i was in Big W with Mum and we were looking at the figures, they had this set for $20 and i wanted it so bad but she said the "No, not today" line. I was so sad i never got to own this set as i wanted it so bad back then, but in 2013 i bought it off Ebay for a decent price. The package was pretty mangled but i kept it in the box so nostalgia purposes.
Jakks Dragon Ball Z Battle Damaged Vegeta (Frieza Saga) My all time favourite look for Vegeta is his Frieza Saga look with the battle damaged armour, hole through the stomach part and the small beam hole through his pec. I never got to see this figure in person but it was always on the back of the box. I wanted it so bad at the time and every toy store i went to i'd look for it. Much like the Piccolo/Nail pack, while i never had it when i was young, i ended up buying it off Ebay in 2013 as well. I still have it in the box and will keep it.
Yugioh Arm Disk When i was younger i wanted one of these so bad, so i went to Target with Mum and we were looking for the one i wanted, i wanted the (i guess) normal one with the red/blue/silver but they only had the dark blue one. Because i really wanted one, i ended up getting the dark blue one. As much as i loved it, i still wish i was able to get the other as i liked it much much more.
There's probably more but these are a few i was able to think of at the moment.

I didn't even know protos surfaced. I feel for you on that. I cannot even get close to affording something like that.

This board is about non wrestling figures. You have the Mattel, Jakks and other wrestling figure boards to talk wrestling figures.

The toybiz marvel legends I liked them but i was buying wwe figures at the time. I wish it were the other way around to be honest. SO now i am playing catch up and buying the marvel legends i missed out on. Toybiz has become my favorite toy company over the past couple years. from the detailed sculpting, the amount of original characters, specific sculpts for characters, to the crazy cool gritty paint jobs.

They reused a lot of parts in multiple lines over the years. Their Cyclops torso was also used for surfer Sting in their WCW Evolution of Sting boxed set. And then again with their TNA AJ Styles. That’s just one example off the top of my head.

Right now it looks like its going to be the SDCC The Defenders ML box set. I almost have my entire MCU/Live Action marvel lineup but those exclusives are going to be a glaring omission

SDCC Exclusive Battle Armor Faker vs. Bizarro MOTUC vs. DCUC 2-pack
It was on Toys R Us's website after the Con, and I placed an order that went through no problem. The next day or something I got an email saying my order couldn't be filled. The prices have steadily gone up since then, and now a MOC pack goes for 300 or more. Faker is my favorite character, and it still stings 8 years later not having that version in my collection.

Pretty much all of the New Hope figures from Hot Toys. In 2017 I had a bunch of dental bills which cut into the old disposable income. Now those figures are hundreds of dollars.
