Like a handful of other wfigs users, I have a classifieds thread which I use to make back a bit of the dough I've spent on wrestling figures. Often times people will pm me asking "how much" for x figure or "how much" for y figure lot. Anyways, although I clearly have it listed to make me an offer in regards to pricing, I'll respond with a price that I believe is fair on both ends. Then, after I respond, about 60% of the time I'll get no response back. Even if it's just a quick and simple "thank you, not interested", it would at least give closure as to whether or not the figs would be sold or not. When people don't respond, I don't know if they think I ripped them off or what happened, and it's just a pet peeve of mine. And even if they did think I was ripping them off, I'm always open to a bit of negotiation. Like, I want to help the people on the forum get the figs they want for their collection for a reasonable price, if it's from what I have to offer!
Anyways, sorry for the rant. Anyone else experience this before?

If I put "make offer" clearly in the listing and someone messages me "how much?" Then Ive likely just tripled that price.

Do you know what pisses me off more? When someone says they're looking for a certain figure and "will gladly pay for cost plus shipping". Then when I find & buy that figure & let them know I have it, they suddenly go into ghost mode. I've been burned by 3 different people on this site.

I gave up on the classifieds on here. I only had about 15 transactions, but got ripped off twice, had to hound people to ship me what I had paid them for, or had people just disappear after practically having the deal agreed upon. I sell on Ebay. It's so much easier. Either buy it or don't. The fees suck, but so do people. Hats off to all the good, honest traders who do things the right way.

Had plenty of that happen to me too. Most people won't respond unless you give them a yard sale bargain bin price.
Plenty of good people here too that respond and pay timely. Gotta take the good AND the bad sometimes.

I also hate "finders fees" or "paying for my time".....all you're doing is looking for a way to mark up the price even more without looking like you're scalping. Its one thing if you're driving 20mins to get a figure specifically for this person but 99.999% of the time you were at Walmart getting pizza rolls and you stumbled across a figure.

Its one thing if you're driving 20mins to get a figure specifically for this person but 99.999% of the time you were at Walmart getting pizza rolls and you stumbled across a figure. To play devil's advocate. Let's say I buy someone a figure while I happen to be in the shop anyway, that's no inconvenience. But then when I get home I have to pack it carefully (assuming I have bubblewrap, boxes and tape in stock, if not I've got to go to another shop to get that), then make a trip to the post office, stand in line, then drive home (from packing to getting home that's all in all almost a full hour ordeal). Once you've gone to those lengths for someone I think it's pretty reasonable to add £5 to the total to compensate you for your effort But this is why I try to avoid doing pick-up's. A figure is £20, will cost me £5 to post it (that's not even including packing materials or petrol), technically I'm making a loss if I only charge £25, but if I charge £30 then the buyer's having to pay £10 over the odds. Nobody wins
