They might be listed at £700 but they aren't actually selling at that price. The last legit sale I can see went for £265 on eBay? Sellers are just trying to inflate the prices while they think interest is peaked in the line, it's when they actually start selling for that price that you need to worry as a buyer (or throw a party as a seller!). I guess the best advice is just don't panic, prices will come down when sellers realise that £700 is more than people are willing to pay, and get bored of keep re-listing the same item on eBay. Heck, if you really want it that badly you can have mine for £699 and I will make you a cup of tea when you come to pick it up haha So, when is it actually WORTH that price? Once someone bites and buys one? Or more than one person buying at that price to set the trend? Yes and no. Once the people paying top-dollar disappear, resale value goes down. Comparable story: the Winston Toys JYD erasers. Once they surfaced, I think the MOC ones were hitting $400-500. At least 1 or 2 did, but once they sold the crazy buyers were gone and no one else was willing to pay that price. So while the market did indeed value it at that price once, it was far from sustainable. This is somewhere between 5-7 years ago, mind you. In the next couple years, the price was nearly halved because no one was paying anywhere near that. Today, they routinely hit the 'bay and go unsold for $200-250. The people who wanted them got them, and the remaining people who want them value them far less. Obviously Hasbro has a much larger following but you're not going to see prices rise just because sellers raise prices. It will also take impatient people buying them up

Nicely put Ozz! For some reasons I really struggle to articulate the supply/demand process when it comes to collectibles, but once you get your head around it it's logical.

I’ve tried telling sellers this when I make realistic offers but they’re not lowering the prices yet.

Well there is no need to panic buy it right now if you don't urgently need it. I'm pretty confident that they aren't going anywhere at those prices

I'm pretty confident that they aren't going anywhere at those prices There's at least 4 in eBay sold listings that all went for $600+, though. Collectors are adding these to their collections and they aren't being sold on as frequently. Unless they decide to sell up, there's no evidence to suggest these will drop in price. Same applies to a lot of the Hasbro figures.

OP was talking about loose ones (not bagged). Loose ones seem to be averaging about $500 at the moment in the US (although Christmas is a bit of a skewed period for judging prices), which equates to around £380 GBP.
The point is, there is a finite number of folks who are happy to drop £700 on this figure loose (the price they are currently listed on eBay UK). The US price is currently averaging at £380, so if someone has recently bought a loose one for £700 ($920 US), the price has already dropped.

I'd love this fig was wrestlemania 9 is my fave mania and I love the era just before and after this as was my peak fandom
How we my kids and I play with all our figures (including elites, exclusives from RSC etc) and so can't justify dropping that sort of cash on a loose one
Thinking might try and find a nice decent custom as they float about

It will also take impatient people buying them up I agree and I sincerely hope this eventually does happen - seems to be a glut of people just listing them for prices no one will ever pay or trying to inflate the prices by getting them graded - saw a red card Mr Perfect for over $500 the other day which is just insane when there are still plenty around at decent prices. The overpricing of the slightly more common items seems to suggest the rarer ones like the mailaways should be even higher - I wish I'd jumped on the last couple I need a few years back

Or is that mainly because you attended? I know it's crap in ring wise, but I never cared about that back then. Just love the look of the outdoor show, and likewise have very fond memories of the time period, I also marked for Hogan winning the title. I'm also a beltmark and always loved Shawn's white IC and the way it shines in the sunlight on this show.

The backstage brawl with lex and perfect lead to the perfect v shawn angle and again the finish kept perfect strong while also helping build heel lex Bret v yoko (ruined by the hogan run in) was a decent match even though according to bret yoko cut his comeback short. It told a great story as all bret's matches did and again kept bret strong even in defeat meaning his victory at KOTR following this made sense The main criticism is generally lack of clean finishes but as long as thats done to aid a story (as per the examples above) it doesnt always have to be a clean 1,2,3 to be a good match

WrestleMania 9 & 10 are my absolute favorite ever. Possibly because I was 9, turning 10 years old and it was absolutely the height of my fandom.
Still yet, they hold up (along with accompanying Royal Rumble and 1995 Rumble) to the point I watch them about once a month. -_-
My girlfriend hates it. Haha. "We just watched this!" She says all the time.

I agree with you on the Lex, Perfect, Shawn backstage brawl, it helped each guy out. Also, Bret & Yoko was a good match considering it was only about 10-12 minutes long, but Bret was always good at telling a story and making it believable that he could be a much larger opponent. I think WM9 gets a bad rap because of Hogan winning the world title at the end of the show and the Taker/Gonzalez match as well as the lack of clean finishes. I also heard that Bob Backlund refused to take the Razor's edge (for fear he could get badly hurt) and that's why the finish was just a roll-up - I believe Scott Hall mentioned this is one of his shoot interviews. I understand what people have a problem with but I still liked the PPV, Shawn/Tatanka, Steiners/Shrinkers, Bret/Yoko, Lex/Perfect, the backstage brawl (didn't get a lot of this in those days), I even liked the Maniacs vs Money Inc. match. And I really liked JR, the Brain, and Savage as an announce team.

It was a cool figure and stands out among the basic re-releases or repaints or Bret Hart and Undertaker. I thought it was insane when the Figures Inc 1995/1996 catalogs listed the Hulk bagged figure for $75.

I thought it was insane when the Figures Inc 1995/1996 catalogs listed the Hulk bagged figure for $75. It was at the time. Even into the later 90s you could get them everywhere for $50 or better. Hindsight is 20/20 of course, but the majority of people weren't expecting prices to explode like they have.
