I started collecting in Janaury 2009, right when Mattel launched. I was working at TRU at the time and being a wrestling fan made it cool to experience the launch of the line firsthand. I remember being so excited merching out this new product that was vastly different from what we had seen before in Jakks products. Being in Canada made it tough to collect as we would miss out on entire series, and also because for the first maybe 10 elite waves, we would only receive two figures from the set. Crazy times.
It's insane to think that I have been buying Mattel WWE figures for just over 10 years now.
How long have you guys been in the Mattel game?

I started collecting from the very start before I ended up selling my collection around E24 when I lost interest. I remember my first 2 figures were E1 Undertaker and BO2010 Kane. As of just under a year ago I officially started collecting again but am not an all in collector anymore. Pretty much Golden thru Attitude eras now.

Mattel launched in January 2010 didn't they?
I know i got Basic 1 in November 2009 so i guess that's when i started. I stopped in 2012 which i regret because a lot of figures i want were released then, only bought certain figures from 2013-2016, mainly CM Punk's, Elite 27 RVD and the first Elite Shield. got back into it in 2017 when i bought the Elite 35 and Basic 67 Luke Harper. Now i've probably got a bigger Mattel collection than i do Jakks.

No, and Mattel officially launched in January 2010 although some places got it a month or 2 earlier somehow.

Since mid-2010, I'm kinda burnt out after the whole end of TRU/2018 exclusive cluster(bleep).

Nope. I saw so many legends figures in stores and would stop to look but I had no real desire...until I saw Macho Man. I looked at it for a few minutes and put it back but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I drove back to that Walmart and purchased my first figure since JAKKS Ken Shamrock. Then I went out and got Ricky Steamboat and that was my collection until my kid got Big Show and Rey Mysterio for his birthday. This started a full-time hobby until 5 Nights and Freddy’s became a thing and an exaggerated Reigns push squashed his interest.
Now it’s a small Golden Era-Attitude Era and MMA based character collection. Ronda and Shayna will make their way here and so will an eventual Matt Riddle.

Yeah Mattel officially released Jan 1 2010. But my TRU put Basic Series 1 out the week of Christmas 2009 so late Dec ‘09 for me.

Yup. Got 17 Mattels in the first 4 days. All of Elite 1, 4/6 from Basic 1, all 3 two packs, and EG Triple H and Rey.

I came in when the legends line was going out. late 2011.. I remember going to Walmart and seeing Legends 4 Warrior. I was like wow that's an awesome figure , and the rest is history. I also remember walking into a kMart in 2012 and seeing the first "flashback" E12 Shango I never did find Kane though. Man those were tough times then... anybody who bitches about distribution now, has no idea what it was like early on...
