That's exactly what I was saying about AEW offering Jericho a 3 year deal. At his age, he should maybe of had a one year or per-appearance type of deal. Because truth be told, I haven't been in love with any feud of Jericho's in years. Each one has been meh at best IMO. And no matter how cool he tries to come off, he's basically had the same shtick for years. There's nothing new besides a few bells and whistles. And we always get people upset when WWE uses older talents instead of focusing on new names, but Jericho's signing is generally praised. I don't get it.

Most of what Cody, the Bucks and Omega have done outside of NJPW has been mediocre... but is praised as something great.

I know I may be alone in this, but there's something about a guy older than even Hogan was between '96 and '99, doing what Jericho is doing, that just sucks some of the appeal of what should otherwise be a very exciting thing happening. [/quote]
I am going to start by saying- I completely get where you are coming from. I have gone through multiple phases of liking Jericho or being completely disinterested, or thinking he is a douche... but at his age he is performing at a much better level than most, and while they aren’t as tight pulling “lionsaults”... not too many dudes his age can move like that, especially on a part time basis so I give him “props”.

I’m glad to hear that people other than myself have noticed how Jericho is.

I don’t think I’m saying anything many of you don’t already know, but the trend in life is to love something new until it becomes wildly popular with the masses. We could name countless bands, tv shows, or various other types of media for hours upon end, I’m sure. WWE is in no way perfect, but they’ve been the only real name associated with American wrestling since the early 2000’s. Some of us hardcore fans are usually entertained and feel there’s something for everyone, even if we don’t personally like a few aspects of the show. Some aren’t fans and haven’t watched for years. Others like to watch and hit social media, criticizing every minute of the show and reminding anyone that will listen that “this is why I never watch.” Those three types of fan are all looking at AEW with interest, but many following the trend are either happy with what they see, or blindly pledging allegiance because they’ve thrown their name in the ring as underdogs. As for Orton, my favorite new “speculation” being quoted as scripture I’ve read is that AEW doesn’t actually want him, but they want to show Vince and Co. that they can afford him. I have no idea if there’s any truth to that or not, but I don’t believe everything I read on the internet either. Especially when I know these companies leak false info to get people talking.

I’m glad to hear that people other than myself have noticed how Jericho is. One of my favs but Jericho has always been a pretentious douche. I thought that was common knowledge. I remember a few years ago he punched that lady in the face I think when there was a huge crowd around him. Hilarious video not sure if it's real or fake but seems real and really shows what kind of person he is.

I feel like if you’re trying to get through a huge crowd and security isn’t doing anything, then some random psychos try to open your car door, punching one of them is kinda self defense. Jericho is definitely the artsy type. Not everything he does works for me, but I do have to give him credit for diversifying his appeal and still being able to hang. He does seem like a smart guy that gets what it takes to stay relevant. Also, smart on him for not burning bridges. Of course in wrestling a burned bridge is easily rebuilt, but he always has a quick fall back.

I definitely can see how he would come off douchey. He does put off an “I can do anything and it’ll work” attitude. Also, I think he would fully admit that a lot of the stuff he does is derivative. I think he’s even in on the “Jericho thinks he invented everything” joke.

They're so sarcastic that you can never tell if they're being a prick or joking.
