Really hope Mattel sticks to the new torsos for the UE, as some of y’all here are super offbase about putting it down. The line is all about increased articulation and that is much better than the garbage ab crunch the current elites use right now. Compared to other $20-$30 figures it’s an absolute joke of a “crunch”. Their articulation as a whole really needs work tbh. Hope the UE line expands on that. Give us butterfly joints! Lol. It looks like trash. They did Ronda perfect but Warrior is so bad and I’d rather not have it if all the men are gonna look like that

If the new ab crunch blended into the torso more it would look better, but currently it looks as if the torso has been separated with a machete.
I've seen the same type of ab crunch utilised much better in other toy lines.

King Mabel's head scan looks excellent and so does the creases in his outfit.
I just hope they paint the W part of the crown as it should have blue/silver jewels.

Meh. Again, I really don’t think it’s that unsightly and once you throw on the coat, the overlap of the outside goes away, making it an even smaller deal. All in all, I think it’ll look better on less buff people and with Bret and Shinsuke coming next, I 100% want to see them continuing to use this ab articulation.

Sign me up for "I'll probably get these but the ab crunch looks like garbage" club. I'd be so much more interested if they had the normal ab crunch and were more like souped up Defining Moments with extra parts/gear/heads/etc.

Those feet hinges seem like they’ll piss people off just as much as The Legends ankles that have to be superglued most of the time...

Glad they changed up the head after the original pics to the older scan. Still sucks that they cancelled the swappable heads though. What? We’re not getting the young screaming head now? They said he has purple trunks underneath. The screaming head was the older head, it was based on this...

At least with the old style the cut is hidden into the ab cuts. What they gave Warrior I hated back in 2004 when they were putting in on their DCSH Batman figure. And that one at least blended better. Look at how much of an overhang the top part of the torso has. And on a side note I hope they never ever give them butterfly joints. They have always looked bad on ML (and the Figaurts WWE) only Spider-Man looks good with them because the webbing of his suit hide them. But other than Spider-Man I have never seen a figure that looked good with them. The only point of articulation I hate more than the butterfly joint are the toe joints.

You realize there’s other, more modern ways to do them, right? The way you claim is a bit of a dated way to do. SHF does them brilliantly with the DBZ 2.0 line of figures. They’re actually inside of the body so that they don’t visibly cut into the chest at all. Looks really good tbh. You can see them done on the Vegeta 2.0 and the Saiyan Raised On Earth Goku.

I have seen it. And first they are hidden under those shoulder pads which unless they are LOD the WWE figures won’t have that to hide them. Secondly all the videos I have seen of people reviewing him there isn’t any real improvement to them to the point that they actually give him an extra set of already crossed arms. So that tells me the arms on him really do much as far as posing him with the regular arms they gave him in front of him. I haven’t really seen anything posted on the imports post on the other figures thread about the other figures I won’t comment on that one.

I hugging hate the toe joints with a passion. Maybe it's the crotchety old man in me, but I want less articulation. I don't play with my toys, so I don't want to pay 30 bucks for a figure that I can't stand up because the ankle rockers and toe articulation gave out.

I think the torso looks alright if a little gappy. Same with Mabel's torso but I chalk it up to prototypes. I like the double-hinged elbows but I never was huge on toe joints even though Rousey's look good.
I'll give a better assessment when I get these in hand.

It's horrific. Sorry but I would rather take no ab crunch and an amazing looking figure than this mushroom looking thing with that you can only move the torso a few useless millimeters anyway and which make it looks like a baby toy. Take this useless articulation away and add some more in other places like arms or shoulders. That the articulation there is still so limited is ridiculous. I would trade that with useless ab crunch in a heartbeat. Speaking of useless stuff. I don't even know for what kind of situation that new toe articulation would be useful. Could have done something else here too.

The Goku one only has the sleves covering it to remain faithful to the source material. And you’re just plain wrong about the Vegeta figure. Lol. The folded arms aren’t done because the butterfly joints can’t accomplish it, it’s done so that you can accomplish a tucked arm look. The butterfly joints on the Vegeta allow easily allow it to have both hands meet in the center, all while keeping the figure’s chest look normally. The WWE Elite series could implement that sort of articulation and it would cause no visual “problems” like you alluded to AND would allow for the hands to meet at the middle for people like AJ to do their correct poses. Hell, it would even look good from the back, as it would look like the shoulder blades and back stretch, just like it would IRL. Sorry but I would rather take no ab crunch and an amazing looking figure than this mushroom looking thing with that you can only move the torso a few useless millimeters anyway and which make it looks like a baby toy. Could have done something else here too. Lol stop. No ab crunch? Calling it useless? Now you’re just trolling. You really are dramatic. Also there’s no reason to “take away” articulation to add other places. For a $30 line, all of this should already be implemented.

Personally I think it looks hideous almost like a hybrid of 2 bodies morphing into 1. Aesthetically it's possibly the worst decision Mattel has ever made but thankfully it's being experimented with on a sub-line and not the main elite series. That's just my opinion and only goes for the male torso but as this thread has proven. There seems to be a market for it. I'm obviously just used to the elite bodies and think it would be silly if they started using this style now. But hey what do I know lol?

It's nice to have and surely a nice thing for pictures but all I say is, if I have to decide between no ab crunch like basics and this mushroom abomination, than I take no ab crunch in a heartbeat. It's not like that I need this so desperately on my figures and couldn't live without that. I'm completely fine with how they do it on the elite figures (which is surprising for myself since I never like them on Jakks deluxe figures and always found the RA series WAY better) and like I said, it's nice to have so that can totally stay, but I would rather give this away completely, than take this new ab crunch, if I could decide. No brainer.
