Now, that was an EEEEEEXCITING game between Islanders/Devils.. Either way woulda been bittersweet, if Isles won, Leafs was out... If Isles lost, Leafs would gotten raped by Sabres.
My Picks.. First Round
East
(1) Buffalo Sabres vs. (8) New York Islanders (2) New Jersey vs. (7) Tampa Bay Lightning (3) Atlanta Thrashers vs. 6) New York Rangers (4) Ottawa Senators vs. (5) Pittsburgh Penguins
West
(1) Detroit Red Wings vs. (8) Calgary Flames (2) Anaheim Ducks vs. (7) Minnesota Wild (3) Vancouver Canucks vs. (6) Dallas Stars (4) Nashville Predators vs. (5) San Jose Sharks
Second Round
East
(1) Buffalo Sabres vs. (5) Pittsburgh Penguins (2) New Jersey Devils vs. 6) New York Rangers
West
(1) Detroit Red Wings vs. (4) Nashville Predators (2) Anaheim Ducks vs. (3) Vancouver Canucks
Third Round
East
(5) Pittsburgh Penguins vs. (6) New York Rangers
West
(1) Detroit Red Wingsvs. (3) Vancouver Canucks
Stanley Cup Finals.
Canucks vs Pens...
I think I'll be happy with that, I remember at the beginning of the season, I was telling a couple of poker players that I think I could see Sabres/Ducks in the finals but Im not so sure about that though, that would be my second pick in the stanley cup finals.

Eastern Conference
Buffalo Sabres (1) vs. New York Islanders (8)- in 5 games
New Jersey Devils (2) vs. Tampa Bay Lightning (7)- in 6 games
Atlanta Thrashers (3) vs. New York Rangers (6)- in 7 games
Ottowa Senators (4) vs. Pittsburgh Penguins (5)- in 7 games
2nd Round Buffalo Sabres vs New York Rangers-in 5 games Ottawa Senators vs New Jersey Devils- in 6 games
Conference Finals- Buffalo Sabres vs New Jersy Devils- in 6 games
Western Conference
Detroit Red Wings (1) vs. Calgary Flames (8)- in 5 games
Anaheim Ducks (2) vs. Minnesota Wild (7)- in 6 games
Vancouver Canucks (3) vs. Dallas Stars (6)- in 7 games
Nashville Predators (4) vs. San Jose Sharks (5)- in 6 games
2nd Round Detroit Red Wings vs San Jose Sharks- in 7 games Anaheim Ducks vs Vancouver Canucks- in 7 games
Conference Finals San Jos eSharks vs Vancouver Canucks- in 7 games
Stanley Cup Finals- Buffalo Sabres vs San Jose Sharks- in 6 games
Comments- The East will win because the West will beat themselves up before they get to the cup finals. It will be another great year for hockey fans as the playoff match-ups are extraordinary! I can only see one series as a gimme (sabres/Islanders) but I think the rest of them are all up for grabs. Hands down it will go to the team who is most consistent at goal and the team who stays healthy. And I can't see Buffalo going through what they did last year in the playoffs, so I have to say Buffalo will finally win a professional championship! Bills 0-4 in Super Bowls and Sabres 0-2 in Cup Finals.

Here's how I want it to go down: 1st Round: Eastern: NY Islanders NJ Devils Atlanta Thrashers Pittsburgh Penguins
Western: Detroit Red Wings Anaheim Ducks Dallas Stars San Jose Sharks
2nd Rnd: Eastern: Devils vs Penguins(6 Games) Thrashers vs Islanders(5 Games)
Detriot vs San Jose(5 games) Anaheim vs Dallas(6 games)
3rd Rnd.: Atlanta Thrashers Vs Pittsburgh Penguins(5 Games)
Detroit Red Wings vs Dallas Stars(7 games)
Setting Up the Finals: Atlanta Thrashers Vs Dallas Stars(7 Games)
I gotta route for the underdog and hopefully this will give us a chance to have the farm team and NHL team to win, meaning the Chicago Wolves(AHL) and their parent club the Thrashers. One can hope.

Lets Go Pens.
Seems like people here think they can do well in the playoffs. Hopefully that happens.

I feel REALLY good about the Red Wings team that is in the playoffs, as opposed to the 05-06 team. Bertuzzi and Calder make the difference for us, and Datsyuk steps up and takes the reigns. I see a hard fought six game series with Calgary.
My predictions...
Eastern Conference
Buffalo Sabres (in four)
New Jersey Devils (in five)
Atlanta Thrashers (in five)
Ottawa Senators (in five)
Western Conference
Detroit Red Wings (in six)
Anaheim Ducks (in six)
Vancouver Canucks (in four)
San Jose Sharks (in five)
