I literally cannot find any information on this wave of the series. Only that one of them was called "Rotten Rubbish", here is a picture:

They were a series from early 2000's I think. This was like a repop of the Jakks WWF Ring gear accessory packs. Basically the same accessories but I think these included like a slimy goo or something but im not 100% sure might just be the packaging.
I remember seeing these on sale at TRU for like $2 back when I was a kid, I think the slim part of it made me pass on them, even though years later I regretted not buying them.
I believe I have pictures of the others if you want.

My understanding is that these came out in three series: Series 1 - Septic Sludge (added to my checklist) Series 2 - Septic Sludge: Gear Gone Badd (added to my checklist) Series 3 - Septic Sludge: Gross & Grimy Gear ( ) What pics you got brother?

I had this as a kid at one point. I believe I had a silver drum can with black goo, possibly meant to resemble oil.
I can only imagine kids playing with sought after figures in this crap...

Yup you are right Series 1 Septic Sludge: 1. Goooey Garbage: Garbage Can, Garbage Can Lid, Square Shovel, Bucket (Blue Goo) 2. Oil Spill: tool Box, Mop, 55 gallon barrel, 55 gallon barrel lid (Black Goo) 3. Lazy Janitor: Square Garbage Can, Square Garbage Can Cart, Broom (Yellow Goo) 4. Messy Bathroom: Toilet, Sink (Green Goo) Series 2 Gear Gone Badd: 1. Concrete Jungle: Rubber Tire, Speed Limit Sign, Square Gas Tank (Grey Goo) 2. Mud Match: Wheel Barrel, Square Shovel (Orange Goo) 3. Medical Mess: Stretcher, Bed Pan, Stethoscope (Green Goo) 4. Clean Up Crew: Mop, Bucket, Janitor wash bucket with wheels (Green Goo) Series 3 Septic Sludge - Gross & Grimy Gear: 1. Rotten Rubbish: Square Garbage Can, Square Garbage Can Cart, Pipe (Blue Goo) That should be it. I'm guessing there was only 1 in series 3 as they were probably realizing these were not selling well and scrapped the idea mid production. I'd be curious to see the back of the card for Rotten Rubbish though, if there is more sets in series 3, i'm guessing its just the accessories from series 1 & 2 repacked in a different color.

I got a bunch of these on clearance at K-Mart in 03 for $0.50 each. At the same time, this Kmart still had WCW merch lingering, some as low as $0.25 each. I regret not getting at least one of the OSFTM 4 inch Rick Steiners that hung out forever. They'd go great with my Hasbro collection (though at the time, I had got rid of a lot of my Hasbros)

From a post from 2017: Ah the Jakks septic sludge sets, I brought a whole bunch of these on sale for £2 each about 10 years ago. The sludge would come in a plastic bag, I neve opened it and would throw it in the bin but it was weird smelling. I don’t recall any of my accessories smelling from it but if they did it wore off pretty quick. I brought multiple packs of the set that included a table with the RAW logo (can’t remenber the name), Lazy Rubbish, Medical Mess, Mud Match and Rotten Rubbish.

I remember being so confused why these existed. They didn't do well all in my area, either.
That said, what a weird and interesting part of wrestling figure history. If anyone has pics of their own, please share! I imagine most people who bought these opened them, and the goo is now gone.

I had 2 sets, the lazy janitor one with yellow sludge and the clean up crew with green. It smelled, not too pungent, and was a thick consistency and very easy to clean off figures. Mostly kept in one big gloop as opposed to the runny, sticky look the promo pics looked like. I think temperature would play a part in the viscosity. After a couple of years (I bought them in 2002-3), they got more and more solid until they became more like a rubbery, easy-to-break apart type substance. Then even later it just became pretty tough. Not that you could hammer any nails with it but best to throw out after 2 years.
Better to use Ghostbusters slime from mattel or something.

I bought three sets on clearance at a TRU while in tech school and never opened the goo. Even in the bag, they smelled REALLY bad. I've since lost track of where I put them. Boy, will I be in for a surprise when I locate them again.

I miss all of these, WWE grimy gear, WWF/WWE ring gear, WWF/WWE grapple gear. All of these accessory packs were awesome, wish mattel would come up with something like those.

I have a very distinct memory of owning at least one of these sets. Always loved the weird stuff like this.
