For those of you who have customized your figures with waterslide decals, do you use some sort of a coating to protect/seal it? If you do, what do you use? I have a few figures to which I've applied waterslide decals to a while ago and I'm looking to protect them from being scratched/peeled off etc. I originally applied them with water and cleaned the surface beforehand. They have held up well since I only display my figs but I just want to be on the safe side because I tested one out and it was fairy easy to rub off. I should have asked this question with my paint question from yesterday's post but I forgot so my bad for yet another post. Any tips would be appreciated

I've heard of people using a matte sealer over the decal. Not sure if using spray or paint is best though. I tried water decals a long time ago to try and do the chest hair on HBK but stuffed them up every time lol

I actually have a great question related to this topic. I have to go back and resize a couple of my CM Punk Retro tattoos, notably the left bicep fish one. It needs to be bigger. Could this be removed with Goof-off or is that too harsh? Any better solution to use?

I remember using dean’s when he was still active. They were fairly easy to apply and could be sealed with nail polish or a spray sealer like krylon. I got a few from curve stomp and for whatever reason when I put the decals on they started to crack and fold.. I tried it with a bandana and belt decal. Same results... so I just gave up..

Nail polish remover/acetone is basically acid for the plastics these figures are made of. If you're going to go that route, use an ear swab and a dampen it, not soak it in the acetone. Swipe gingerly.

I like the instant results from acetone though. If I need to use weaker stuff, I might as well go with sandpaper/scraping.

I have used Curb Stomps decals often and have had the ink chip on me before. I usually give the decals another coat or two of sealer before I use them.

I’ve had the same experience and have resorted to the same remedy. Would recommend using as few decals as possible and paint as much of the details as you can.

I used my wife's clear nail polish to add a small coat. Then I found this stuff in a hobby store that took the shine and made it flat. Looked good and protected it from scrapping off so easily.
