Colt Brennan looked fantastic the other night. Hopefully he gets a chance to compete for the starting position.

I wanna know why matt flynn went in the 7th round. I mean he was the qb on the national champs. Was he really that bad during the combine stuff? I really wish the packers didnt draft him, I wish he wouldve gone to a team where he has a chance, not a team with 3 other big qbs.

This Colt Brennan love is quite hilarious. Hey man! I see talent. I know you and many others dont agree. But the fact is he had a damn decent game and looked crisp on the field. I know it was preseason. I know it was against a Colts defense that wasnt the first string or second string....probably a few guys who wont even make the roster. But he still looked good out there. I'm not saying he should be the starter. But I am hoping that Zorn is at least taking a closer look at him. Because Campbell is below average at best and this team is never getting to the next level with him behind center.

No offense, but who are you and who cares about the "talent" you see. 32 teams passed on him....6 times, and they have been doing it for a lot longer than you have. Sure, he has the potential to do something but the odds are....he slipped for a reason, and he'll be another college superstar/NFL flame out. Jason Campbell is def not "below average", hes a decent young starter who is going to be in for a better year.

If a QB is good they should have the system around him. I know he needs to work on his mechanics to get more arm strength but he has a great coach to give him those tools.

I don't agree at all that Jason Campbell is '' Below Average '' he's a good young qb with a rocket arm. And the more he plays the better he should get.

Jason Campbell looked just as good as Colt Brennan, and he was playing against MUCH better defensive players... Even after that game, the coaches were saying that Brennan "needs to protect the ball better." just saying Oh man... Really? Comparing Colt Brennan to Tom Brady is just disgusting...

Hell I hate Colt Brennan...but don't use the NFL scouting argument...plenty of players have been looked over by all teams...doesn't necessarily mean they dont have talent...I'm in the boat with the brennan haters as a product of the system like Chang...just don't use the NFL scouting against him

Well I agree with you to an extent, but for the most part, NFL scouts tend to be pretty good.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Brett Favre's sport utility vehicle was back in its parking spot at Lambeau Field on Tuesday morning, less than 12 hours after a late-night meeting with Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy concluded.
Favre was laster seen leaving Lambeau Field in the same SUV shortly before 3 p.m. ET, when the Packers were taking the field for practice.
Favre and McCarthy were supposed to talk about Favre's commitment to football and his role on the team on Monday night. The fact that the meeting ran several hours over its allotted time was a strong hint that it went beyond simply welcoming Favre back to compete with Aaron Rodgers for the starting job.
"We're at a stalemate," Favre told ESPN on Tuesday morning. "Mike and I both agreed last night that me being out there is a distraction and will continue to be a distraction. We all know the reason I'm here is because the commissioner reinstated me so we have a lot of things to figure out. It's simple and complicated, both at the same time."
Favre said he doesn't have a problem with competing with Rodgers for the starting job, and can "truly understand" why McCarthy would make Rodgers the starter. But Favre also said a competition "probably isn't going to work" and that "the problem is that there's been a lot of damage done and I can't forget it."
McCarthy had scheduled a news conference for 9:15 p.m. Monday to talk about his plans for Favre. But the news conference was postponed because McCarthy was still meeting with Favre, and hadn't been rescheduled as of noon Tuesday.
Both Favre and McCarthy finally drove out a back gate at Lambeau at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday. Favre waved to a small crowd of fans and media from his dark red SUV, and McCarthy followed immediately behind him in a black SUV.
Favre officially was reinstated and restored to the team's active roster on Monday. Entering Monday night's meeting with Favre, McCarthy was focused on trying to figure out whether Favre really was 100 percent committed to playing again.
McCarthy said Favre's answers would go a long way toward formulating the team's approach to its quarterback position this season.
"There have been no promises," McCarthy said Sunday night, the most recent comment by a team official on the situation surrounding Favre. "Once again, there has been indecision throughout Brett's path back here to Green Bay. It's important for us to sit down and communicate. There are some things we need to go through."
At least one aspect of the Favre saga has been resolved: The Vikings won't be punished for alleged tampering with Favre.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell ruled Monday that he found no violations of league policy in the Packers' tampering complaint against the Vikings. The Packers filed tampering charges last month, suspecting that interest from the Vikings was the main reason Favre had suddenly changed his mind about playing in 2008.
And Minnesota coach Brad Childress denied reports that the Vikings have talked to the Packers about a potential trade for Favre.
"We haven't had any contact" with the Packers, Childress said Monday.
The Packers reluctantly embraced Favre's forced return to the football field Sunday, after failing to come to a financial agreement that would manage to make Favre happy while staying retired. And while Favre's role remains unclear, Rodgers said Sunday that he's ready for a potential competition.
"I know if they do open it up to competition, not a lot of people give me a chance, but I believe in myself and I'm going to be the best I can be," Rodgers said.

ESPN just had a ticker that said Packers GM and Head Coach just left Favre's house after discussion trade options.

No one is saying Brennan is in the league of Tom Brady. But the idea that Brennan was passed over for 6 rounds doesnt amount to squat. Tom Brady isnt the only premier QB that was found in late rounds. Sometimes NFL scouts see the same thing you see....product of a system. And then it turns out he actually has talent to play at the next level. Time will tell. As far as Campbell's performance vs. Colt's. We only have the 1 game to judge Colt on. We have an entire package of games of Campbell......and I dont think he commands the huddle well enough. Coaching changes have contributed to some of his poor performances, but I just dont see him having that natural leadership ability. Rocket arms will only get you so far. IE Kyle Boller. I just mentioned Colt's performance, b/c there is a lot of what I consider unwarranted hate for him.

I don't "hate" Colt Brennan. I just don't think he has the tools to be a good NFL quarterback -- much like Troy Smith.

Apparently the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal has said that Favre will be traded to the Bucs tonight.
