Bengals cut Chris Henry ProFootballTalk.com
Well, the Dallas Cowboys might soon have a new receiver.
Chris Henry, who was suspended by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for the first eight games of the 2007 season due to multiple run-ins with the law, has been cut by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Said Bengals president Mike Brown in a team-issued statement: “Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals. His conduct can no longer be tolerated.
“The Bengals tried for an extended period of time to support Chris and his potentially bright career. We had hoped to guide him toward an appropriate standard of personal responsibility that this community would support and that would allow him to play in the NFL. We acknowledge those fans who had concerns about Chris; at the same time we tried to help a young man.
“But those efforts end today, as we move on with what is best for our team.”
Henry was taken into custody early Thursday after being charged with assault. Under the rules of Turd Watch II, the Bengals will not receive any points as a result of the arrest, since they cut him within a week after the cuffing and fingerprinting.
Meanwhile, we wonder whether disgruntled Bengals receiver Chad Johnson is now contemplating a mini-crime spree.

Meh, Ill ask Thunder if he caught the report. I swear they said that Harrison got cut as well. Either way....anyone who does that should be cut and have to go to anger management. Especially Wilson, as I know he is gonna kill her.

Weighing a comeback?
The Los Angeles Times reports Favre, who announced his retirement last month after 17 seasons, could be weighing a comeback with another team. According to NFL sources, Favre's agent has quietly inquired with teams about their interest in trading for the three-time NFL most valuable player. Favre's agent, James "Bus" Cook, said he was not aware of Favre's interest in resuming his career ----------------------------------------

It would be kind of neat seeing him again, but it's probably time to retire... Also, it would be just wrong to see Favre on any other team imo.

Favre and his agent have both said that he is not coming back within the last day.

If Favre were to decide to play one more season, theres not a chance in hell its going to be for any other team than the Packers. Id love to see him play one more season, but if he doesnt want to, thats fine. Everyone at my work was hounding me all day about Favre going to a different team...idiots, its not going to happen.
This next season shall be interesting for the NFC North. No team really stands out, the Bears are good when they want to be, they need to give Orton more playing time. the Vikings are starting to become a rather good team, they they basically just need a nice steady qb and a few decent recivers and they should be a top team in the NFC, Peterson is going to dominate, the Packers are iffy, not sure how good they will do with Rodgers, and the Lions well....their the Lions, need I say more?

Miami is negotiating a contract to make Jake Long the #1 pick. Thats crazy. If any long, they should be looking at Chris Long. Otherwise, they need to get some skill players or look to stock pile picks.

he Dolphins have reportedly begun contract discussions with Michigan OT Jake Long. Don't read too much into this; the 'Fins will probably talk numbers with UVA DE/OLB Chris Long and possibly Ohio State DE/OLB Vernon Gholston before the draft as well. Still, the negotations indicate that Jake is being seriously considered for the No. 1 overall pick. To avoid a holdout, Miami wants a contract in place before making its choice, unlike Oakland last year.

I think this is a strong indication he is the guy the Phins go with, unless there is a hurdle in negotiations.

Time will tell. But I wouldnt be shocked if this was their pick, considering Parcells.

Looks like you were right Ralpho. Contract negotiations have started with Gholston and on First Take they talked about the Phins negotiating with a lot of guys to see who they could get the cheapest.
On NFL.com I watched a vid that said that the Jets need a lot of help, #1 being a pass rusher. BUT.....if McFadden or Ryan fell to them at #6,. they would not be able to pass on either. They said scouts are very interested in Ryan and a lot of Jets personnel attended his Pro Day. The Jets need to get a QB. Kellen Clemens is awful. His pocket presence is down right frightening.

Anyone want to explain how the Patriots go their 1st round pick back?

Anyone want to explain how the Patriots go their 1st round pick back? They didn't. Their 31st overall pick is still gone. The pick they have was the 49ers pick . They got this pick because in the 2007 draft, the 49ers traded the Patriots to get their first round pick, which they used to draft Joe Staley. In compensation, the Patriots received the 49ers' 2007 fourth round pick as well as their 2008 first round pick. Hope that makes sense.
