That was incredible, can’t wait to see how this develops over the weeks leading to mania. Only thing that would’ve made it better is if flair was bloody like a ruthless aggression era segment

If it’s Dave’s last match, which is the match he asked for, I doubt he’d win regardless of his opponent. Batista or HHH has nothing to gain from winning or losing. It really doesn’t matter one way or another. If Batista loses, it doesn’t put HHH any more over, and Batista winning doesn’t put him any more over. Both their legacies are sealed. This is just a fun match. I say just have fun with it, but IMO, if it’s Batistas final match, let him win. HHH can win his last. Most wrestlers “go out on their back” so I dunno. But I love Batista too, so I’d be okay if he did win. I like the fact he’s 3-0 against Triple H on PPV.

I turned Raw on at 10:50 and it felt like Bruce Prichard’s presence was felt Meltzer is gonna report tomorrow that the segment was written by him

I think that’s the story, Batista has always gotten the best of HHH and he just brushes it off and forgets about him so Batista is coming back to beat him and end his career

Like Taker putting over Reigns at the time that was right to do if it’d been Takers last which I don’t think anybody really knew. But has it been like HBK returning vs Taker at Summer Slam or something then what’s it matter.

Instead of Batista vs. Triple H. I'd do a tag match at Mania. Batista and Orton vs Triple H and Styles. Have them all turn on Styles ala Flair Pillman and Anderson. Then reform the Club with Balor and Styles and Gallows and Anderson. Evolution vs Club at SummerSlam. Gallows can be the enforcer at ringside and you can do Batista Triple H and Orton vs Balor, Styles and Karl
Literally knew this ending four hours before raw.

He’s gonna bring a lotta eyes to WWE with this run. Endgame comes out just after Mania. Great for both parties. But I do think HHH will win. I’d like Batista to be the guy HHH could never beat in a main event match. I think that’d be a cool legacy for Batista. Batista had the company on his back just as much as Cena from 05-08 and everyone for the most part never hated Batista the way they did Cena. So I’d like to see him have a nice send off if it’s just last for sure. But it will be fun to watch regardless.

I'm probably in the minority but I am really not looking forward to yet another Shield reunion.
How sad was it NOT seeing Arn Anderson come out to ringside after being fired just before his friend's 70th. Turning the whole thing into an angle for Tista vs Trips is probably the most productive outcome.
Also what's wrong with Shawn Michaels? Now he looks like Dutch Mantel

Good ending, but could've been executed better. I mean if he's there, let him appear for before the live crowd as opposed to via video. While it created instant heat, Batista and Flair never really had any problems...and with this whole thing coming "out of left field" it seems misplaced. I just would've liked to have seen more done because you know his availability is going to be limited.
If it was me booking, I leave out the special guests besides HHH, Stephanie, Flair, and Flair's wife in the ring. Let Flair make his entrance to hype the crowd. Just as they're about to sing happy birthday...have Batista's music hit, he comes out to a pop, and he interrupts. Make it seem like Batista is there to surprise ric...big smile and all. Then as Batista is smiling and pointing at Ric and calling him the man, have Batista do the thumbs down as he attacks Flair and HHH, trashes the entire party, hits one of the guys with that belt, grabs cake and throws it on top of flair/hhh in disrespect...grabs the mic and says "Do I have your attention now Hunter"...then you see him walking up the ramp as he motions to the current roster like he's gonna hit them and they back away/flinch.
Maybe 15 years ago I saw an interview with Al Snow how he described the process behind making an audience pop and how to get them to that point, and what was done tonight just doesn't do it...WWE went 30% before they went for it.

If I wanted to read a bunch of made up bullshit, I'd rather spend my time reading the National Enquirer. Stories about crop circles and lizard people are far more entertaining than Dave's nonstop AEW propaganda machine.

Raw was absolutely fantastic tonight! Definitely feels like Mania season now. Started off strong, some of the stuff in the middle was a bit garbage and I tuned out, and then it ended on a high. Incredible segments to start and close the show. The reception for Roman was amazing and the return of Batista was fantastic.

my single biggest burning question out of tonight's RAW::
What did they do with all that giant-sized cake?

Sounds good in theory but you’re forgetting that Flair is 70 and probably couldn’t take bumps like that anymore. I like the fact that Batista dragged him out and just let us use our imagination to how bad he beat him. I do agree with you that the only thing I would have done differently is not to the backstage bit. I would have had Dave drag Flair to the stage then walk away.

Happy for Batista. He’s wanted one last run, rematch with Hunter, and last time he wanted to be a heel. So good for Dave. Hope it works out well for him. Great start tonight. I think it’s the opposite now. I don’t think anyone wants to boo Dave lol.
