Tomorrow(March 4th) that we lost the great John Candy at the very young age of 43. His passing to this day still brings tears to my eyes. Just an all around good guy who you never heard anybody say anything bad about.I mean who could forget that smile of his. The entertainment industry lost a gem on that terrible day 25 years ago that's for damn sure. RIP Mr. Candy Forever a Legend.
I wanna share a clip of my favorite movie of his, Planes,Trains and Automobiles. This scene just shows you how talented he could be. One minute he can make you laugh the next he can have you in tears. Such a great actor. They sure don't make em like this anymore...

If you haven't seen his early stuff from SCTV, I highly recommend it.

John Candy is one of those actors that was in everything that we remember, soooo many classics that he took part in; Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Heavy Metal, Spaceballs, Cool Runnings, The Blues Brothers, Home Alone, The Rescuers Down Under, Delirious, 1941 or my personal favorite, Only the Lonely - I could go on.
Truly, one of the greats.

I was only 9 when he passed, but I can remember hearing them talk about his death on the radio in my dad's truck. It was such a sad day. The guy had so many classic movies, and could always make you laugh. He could also make you feel though too, as he showed just in a few of the scenes in Planes Trains and Automobiles. He's got a long list of great roles, but for me, Uncle Buck is and will always be my favorite. Another favorite that I don't think gets enough credit, was Armed and Dangerous. The chemistry with him and Eugene Levy in that movie is great.
And I found this bit from Tiny Lister Jr's interview with Hannibal TV, where he talks about Candy:
With that being one of countless stories about him, when John Candy died, the world didn't loose just a great entertainer, it lost an amazing human being.

When I was a kid, I never knew John Candy's name but I always remembered him as that guy with the real likeable personality. He had a natural charm and it's only been in the last few years that Ive really took to appreciate his movies, if a movie is coming on and John Candy is in it i'll always watch it, ive really grew to appreciate him and without a doubt he would have went on to become very succesful if he was still around. Just the other week there was a movie on called, Summer Rental and it was Candy's first lead role, so I sat down and watched it and naturally i laughed hard at some of the scenes and enjoyed the whole movie, which is what always happened every time I watched one of his movies. I wish he was still alive, just a big fun lovable sort of guy.

Two of my favorite scenes from Uncle Buck, and really of Candy's in general.
Before Mike Meyers did the mole bit in Austin Powers, you had John Candy. And man, especially today, we need more Uncle Bucks, people who stand up for letting kids actually be kids.
Gotta love that talent to make , basically threatening someone with a hatchet funny.

What made John Candy so damn good was he could make everybody laugh one minute and cry the next. He was a complete actor. Such a shame he died so young.

I still say that Canadian Bacon doesn't get credit. I think it's a funny movie, I don't know if it's because it was a lower budget movie, or it was a Michael Moore movie, but it usually gets dumped on, and I think unfairly

He was great in everything he was in. I can't believe he's gone 25 years.
