If Ryder is such a great collector and hunts all over the place and such then why did he cry about not finding Sherri and beg for one? He travels everywhere so he should’ve found one easy. Or he could’ve spent a thousand dollars for one on eBay. It just comes off as such a “let them eat cake” moment for someone who didn’t have to hunt down that figure to tell everyone else who has to that they shouldn’t complain. I would absolutely do the same thing to get Sherri, but I wouldn’t go on my podcast and tell people to deal with it 😎 and waste your life hunting it down afterwards. If they didn't get Race they would have been complaining on the podcast about not being able to find him. We would have heard "come on Bill fix distribution" for weeks on the podcast. It would have been "Dudegate" all over again and would have been a running thing on the show. Then if Sherri and Patterson would go on to be as hard to find as Dunne is now, they both would have been screaming about them. I am glad they get the figures but for them to act like they wouldn't be complaining if they couldn't find them or if the had to pay eBay prices isn't what would likely have happened. They wanted a pat on the back for looking for a couple of days for Retro and Retrofest figures and we all know they aren't going to be hard to find in a month.

And I’ll even add that people tagged him in the Vegas con thread to see what people were saying and he never responded. Hopefully it was enlightening to someone who is making money off the people he calls cry babies

Wow, STILL complaining about Zack and Curt's opinions over toys hahahahahaha. Sad. Also bringing up $350 toys and "privilege" into the discussion of hunting store exclusives is unbelievably hyperbolic. Really, could you guys overreact any more pretending that they sh*t all over you with the mild things they said? Some of you have to be the most sensitive people with victim complexes to be offended this greatly by two strangers' opinions on hunting toys. Says the guy always complaining about opinions different from his. Hahahahahahahaha. Sad.

It's not even a matter of having a different opinion because I agree that distribution has been terrible and that it's possible Zack doesn't know the extent of the distribution issues, but the overreactions on here are downright embarrassing. Considering these new exclusives just started hitting stores over the past few weeks, I think it's way too early to act like people are getting screwed over and most of the replies to Zack and Curt's comments have been complete overreactions. There's some who are going to extreme measures, even starting Change.org petitions over these figures that only hit stores like 3-4 weeks ago. It is sad. You, on the other hand, were the one who went as far as to call Zack an "overpaid baby" who has "too much money and zero life responsibilities" because you didn't like what he had to say. But yeah...good one lol.

I mean let's be fair, I don't think it's the exclusive figures that are the issue it's the distribution of the figures with them only appearing in Canada and America I believe. I think is somehow they came to the UK or whatever countries these complaints wouldn't be happening but at the same time I doubt any stores are going to take them. I also don't think what helps is when we miss Elite series on top of this people on here are just getting annoyed at the lack of figures especially new figures we're getting. Canada doesn't get them either bub.

That’s not a con, it’s just business. Mattel is not a charity providing obscure toys for entitled wrestling superfans. It’s a business that sells toys to retailers. AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman, Jeff Hardy and John Cena are the money makers that keep the line going. Managers from the 80s and wrestlers from the 70s are not going to sell like those guys. Neither are Faction Member #4 from NXT, or anyone on the NXT UK roster. They already tried selling obscure/old wrestlers as online exclusives - we didn’t support it. They tried selling them in their own line (Legends) in mass retail numbers - we didn’t support it. They tried selling whole waves of them as store exclusives (Hall of Fame, Flashback BAFs) several times - we didn’t support it. This is their latest attempt to plug some semi-forgotten legends into the line, as well as some not-famous-yet newcomers. If it doesn’t work, they’ll stop it - but at this point, there aren’t many more options for them to try. My comment about exclusives being a con job was direct at the retailers not Mattel. They ask for exclusives yet don't bother to stock them in their stores. 9 times out of 10 when someone goes to the store to find the exclusive, they come out empty handed because Walmart/Target can't be bothered to stock said exclusives. If they were stocking them on a consistent basis like TRU did with the Network spotlight line then I don't think you would be seeing as many complaints as you are now. As for your comment about legends, Mattel is to blame for the failure of those lines not collectors. The legends line failed because they launched it at the wrong time (not enough collectors had jumped on board at that point in time). Other lines failed due to poor lineup choices and the last 2 exclusive lines (HOC & Flashback) were doing well until Mattel abruptly pulled the plug on them.

I agree that Starting a petition or griping to an extent of passed this message board is too much. No one should care that much but to claim matt cardona is innocent in his actions is silly. He knows what he is saying. He flaunts the amount of money he spends on nonsense to a point that he sells t shirts about it. If you want to be the guy to brag about your stuff and your amounts of time and money spent on acquiring things for the hell of it in a public forum like a podcast, you open yourself up to that criticism. He bashed his fellow collectors and he thinks we are all nerds so yeah my opinion based on how he portrays himself is that I’m not that far off.

Anyone feel free to go through my post history, you'll see that my posts are almost always respectful outside of making light fun at some of the overreactions the past few weeks. As for everything else you wrote, I completely agree that he should be open to criticism. It's just my opinion that some of the posts on here being critical of him have gone way overboard, including someone saying something to the extent of "f*ck those guys, they're the worst" among other things that have already been listed. I've listened to all of the comments in full and I just don't get the perception that he holds some super negative opinion of figure collectors. Yeah, perhaps he was slightly harsh by acting like people were crybabies and he basically told everyone to get over it, and maybe he's even out of the loop or downplaying distribution issues, but it seemed to me that his response was directed to some of the more vocal complainers rather than him just trying to stick it to the whole community because he hates us. Maybe I'm wrong and maybe he truly does hate everyone but I just don't get that impression. But again, it's probably just best we agree to disagree on this one. Have a good night man lol.

This is why I don't understand why people are defending Exclusives so much. I see people moan that they can't get a Dunne or can't get a certain exclusive but then get told I should stop collecting because I have 0% chance of getting one unless I pay extreme prices. I agree we got Toys r Us exclusives no one complained, if Asda somehow got exclusives or Argos got exclusives in the UK less people would moan but for some reason people seem to be defending Mattel/retailers on this decision. Again I do agree that the legends line failed because it was released at the wrong time but also all these series fail because they are exclusives to stores that don't actually want to consistently stock them so it gets annoying. Also a lot of these series are just constant remakes and Mattel wonder why they keep failing. I don't understand it personally

Toys R Us actually stocked exclusives in decent numbers. When they had the DC Multiverse exclusives they had enough stock for everyone to go around, Network spotlight everyone was able to get the debut TJP, but they did add him to the basic line for everyone to get. Target and Walmart these store chasers might be the only shot at some of the wrestlers, especially the flashbacks.

Store exclusives are fine and there is an element of “the hunt” to it that isn’t as easy as “walking into any store and being able to buy everything you want” as the podcast people put without it being an impossible task or a chore. Pete Dunne at Target? Fine but for 2 months every target should have at least 3-4 like the tru network spotlights. The TRU in Albany before it closed had every network spotlight for at least a few weeks then they would sell through and be gone. What’s wrong with that method? Nothing. Everyone who puts in an effort gets the figure but it still benefits retailers for its exclusivity and collectibility.

I think it's more the distribution of the figures rather than them being exclusives. I mean we moaned when Smyths didn't get a lot of the newer elite series. Like Exclusives used to be Ringside like 4 times a year right? Now it's every other set getting one and it's also annoying when we missed out on them good Elite series but that happens. For UK collectors it's been a massive build up

This is my opinion on this situation....
Collecting would be boring and would ultimately fizzle out without the rush
It slowed down for me in a big way before NXT and elite 64 came to retail, top picks Rollins started the spark, but NXT and Pete Dunne created a fire, seeing how sought after a figure is to other people, it makes the figure disreable to you even more, I’m not a big fan of Pete Dunne or black, just wasn’t a big watcher of NXT, I bought a few of them for trades and what not, not expecting to keep any, but seeing this forum and the crazy high demand for these made me start to say “hey I think I want these for myself”
What’s my point?
Your frustrations with how bad you want a figure, creates even more buzz and ultimately fuels more people to buy them, I went from saying I might get black and Dunne, to them being some of my prized possessions
NXT series 4 and Pete Dunne have been the most talked about and in demand figures I think I have ever seen, I mean NXT still, after about a month on targets website, gets cleaned out within seconds, it’s unbelievable to me, and a great success for Mattel, I think they did a great job with these exclusives, I can speak positive about it cause I’ve pretty much found everything I wanted, but I definantly feel for those who haven’t, goodluck to you.

There's been tonnes of Exclusive lines that have come to the UK and no one moans so it's clearly not them being exclusive. But it's hard when there's buzz about the figure then finding out you have to pay £70+ for one. I mean people bought Pete Dunne for like £200. I mean when the UK got NXT Series 4 it was so fun for me because I was able to go out and look for figures again since Argos don't have the best online site for assortment figures. What also doesn't help is that these figures have 100% become a way of making money to some people, they buy 3 Pete Dunne's they've made a lot of money on UK Ebay.

I don't think having to fight for limited stuff makes it fun, it makes it HARD. What if Shop Rite only got in 8 boxes of Cheerios every 3 weeks and you had to get there at open and have employees hold them for you? Would that make it more fun to buy cereal or make you a more dedicated consumer? No. It would make it a pain in the ass. And don't say food items are different because the scalpers did this with the ing Ecto-cooler a few years ago. I look at it this way. I want a product. I have MONEY to purchase said product. I should be able to walk into a store or go online and complete said transaction without wasting substantial amount of my time. I can literally order ANYTHING from Amazon and it's here in a few days. I wish there were more AMAZON exclusives and less Target/Walmart ones because they are not stocked properly. I don't see why Target and Walmart can't just stock ENTIRE cases of their exclusives. They should also be READILY available online. Why does it have to be ONE figure per-case? Like Target and Mattel don't think they can move 8 Pete Dunne's so we're going to put ONE in the store at a time AND NOT SELL IT ONLINE? I'm sorry, but it's a horrible idea. And I've said this before in other threads and I'll say it again in here....except for the people outside the US, you dipsh*ts need to stop buying these figures for stupid prices on eBay. YOU are the reason scalpers exist. If they couldn't make 4, 5, 6 times the profit, they wouldn't be sucking up the ones that actually ARE hitting shelves. It's hard enough to get these figures competing with actual collector's and kids, but when you add the eBay people.....makes it even harder. STOP BUYING ON EBAY AND THESE PEOPLE WILL GO AWAY!
