“All you need to do is be white” It’s so weird how it’s been coming off this way for the past month 🤨 didn’t they learn not to use the whole “someone like you” storyline with a black guy after HHH/Booker at WM19? They recognized it's back in vogue and are trying to strike while the black iron's hot. |

I actually think Kofi Kingston will win the WWE Title at Wrestlemania after tonight.
Imagine next weeks entire show being his Gauntlet. Orton screwed by AJ. Joe screwed by Ali/Rey/Almas. Bar screwed by Hardyz / Black Ricochet. Big E and Woods get Rowan. Kofi runs the 2 hour classic gauntlet and goes to Mania to face Bryan one on one.

I watched back the back and forth between AJ and Orton. That was IMO ten times better than last night with Batista and HHH. Im actually looking forward to the match

Im actually looking forward to the match That Triple H/Batista promo could have been amazing, but it was just god awful and sounded like a broken record repeating itself, which gave me the inspiration to turn the promo into a song. |

I'm good with the racial overtones of the story. Definitely have to be careful but it's real life that outside of the Rock, who definitely identifies himself as Samoan, there has never been a black WWE Champion. So if Kofi gets to be the guy then it's completely relevant to bring up the barrier that has existed in the past. Kofi is kicking down a door and I think it would be insulting to the audience not to embrace what is actually going on. I'm not sure if Kofi's line about taking his kids trick-or-treating was shoot or not, but man that hit me hard.
This gauntlet match seems like overbooking but they booked Becky to not be in the Royal Rumble because she had to tap out to Asuka and then she entreated the Rumble anyway and won. And then they took her out of the Mania match, put her back in the match, and took her back out again. Just to have her face Charlotte so she could be put back in the match that she deserved from winning the Rumble. This is what this company apparently does now.

Orton/AJ was the highlight for me, banging stuff. I haven't seen an intense legit segment like that in a long time.

Nobody on this thread when Charlotte says she’s hot: BOOKER_T somewhere  Charlotte's been getting hotter by the week - and she certainly doesn't look like a man. I'm seriously questioning the eyesight of some people in here. |

Am I the only one laughing at the fact that prior to the Gauntlet Match determining the last man in the EC, no one cared about Kofi getting a World Title run? McMahons and WWE have played you perfectly. They will try this formula again for whomever replaces Roman or whomever else they feel might not be well received.
I cannot think of anyone who was thinking Kofi needs this Wrestlemania moment this year until after it was forced upon us.

Last night's SmackDown Live was fantastic for promos.
First we got the promo between Randy Orton and AJ Styles. That was fantastic. I honestly wasn't super interested in this match until last night's promo, but now I am. "King of the Indies" VS "Mr WWE" gives it that depth to make me invested.
Then we had Becky Lynch's promo on Ronda Rousey. Becky once again shows her good her mic skills and connection with the crowd are. Her lines about Ronda were hilarious! She spoke with exactly the right inflections, and paused for exactly the appropriate amount of time to be heard perfectly above the crowd.
So yeah, two excellent, memorable segments last night for me. There are usually ups and downs, but those two promos were better than anything else I can recall recently.

You aren't wrong! It's not like the Benoit story line for Wrestlemania XX, where they were building it up from October till March. This Kofi thing was just a fluke accident, because Mustafa Ali got injured and had to be taken out of the chamber match.

I doubt Ali would have gotten the WWE Title shot at Mania.
From what I heard, Kevin Owens was supposed to get the shot at Mania, but they changed all that around now.
