That’s just how long it’s always taken. It’s not as simple as whipping up a custom. There’s tons upon tons of steps the design process needs to go through.

Let's not get off-topic here. The bigger question for me is that why in 2019 does it still take 8-12 months to produce a figure of a wrestler from their debut (on average?). You've had the license for going on 10 years, you've been in the toy business for 100 years, it's 2019 - do toy designers need some LEAN 6 Sigma training or something? Everyone needs some lean six sigma training. But even if streamlining the process made things a little faster, the cost of implementation probably wouldn’t be worth it - if it were, they’d have done it already. Or a comparable toy line would’ve.

They are the same size but they look very different, as in the finish of them because they're prototypes. unless there's finished product pictures i haven't seen yet

i love trashing mattel. they try to screw up every line they produce and most of the time succeed. the wwe MDT also seems like they dont have inter personal and/or communication skills so it's very easy for me to trash them when they act aloof with the take what we give you and like it attitude.
and yet i accidentally happened across some jakks listings that made me peruse the entire jakks catalogue of releases. and wow so many of them are so terrible i remembered for a brief moment why ive bought thousands of mattels

I mean I kind of agree with maybe we didn't need both Elite and Basic Ronda to not be wrestling attire but it is what it is. As someone said they were probably saving it for the Ultimate Edition series. Can anyone confirm if they're on scale with elite figures or would I have to wait for an Elite or Basic Ronda to come out? Yes they are in scale with the other figures, bill even says so towards the end of this video www.wwe.com/videos/detailed-look-at-mattels-wwe-ultimate-edition-action-figure-lineThanks hopefully that's another line to buy

Have to agree.
By the time stuff comes out, guys have a gimmick change, are no longer relevant or over or hot. This has always been an issue met with many excuses from Bill and Mattel

This has always been an issue met with many excuses from Bill and Mattel It took over a year to get an any aj styles figure made and into stores as well. It's been this way the whole time mattel has had the license.

I doubt they consciously take their time on making a figure, they want them out as quickly as possibpe to maximose revenue while the superstar is relevant, not sure how it could be quicker, npt significantly so anyway, they have to scan them, process the scans on the software they use, theres a design process, where to fit it in, as in which series, remember series are already mapped out well in advance, there are prototypes to make and be approved by Mattel, WWE and the superstar, probably decisions how the profits are split, then mass peoduction, packaging, shipping, distribution, its not a quick process
