With Ronda being absolute money, Mattel saw an opportunity to introduce the Ultimate Edition line with what is arguably her most sought after figure - ring attire. I completely see why it was done. It’s a business move that’s going to generate a lot of revenue but the line wasn’t ready for mass production. Undoubtedly, she’ll have another in-ring attire elite by E73. Would I have liked an elite Ronda displayed in my cabinet? Sure. This UE Ronda is gonna be cool and worth the wait.

I can be negative about mattel for the little quantity of legend figures but for the current superstars , mattel did and do a great job. Since mattel got the licence, i think all the superstars were released. I know they are a bit slow, they should work hand and hand with wwe , to know in advance attires or wrestlers that will be on raw or sdown soon. Scanning the superstars at the same moment that they are signed to wwe.

I'm a pretty casual collector of these things, myself, but as a one-time diehard during the BCA/TTL era, I've gotta say - Mattel's track record is pretty okay, given what they likely have to work with. Just off the top of my head, looking at the biggest signings I could muster over the past five-ish years...
AJ Styles: Debuts January, 2016; Elite 47 In Stock November, 2016. 10 Months Ronda Rousey: Debuts January, 2018; Basic 90 In Stock October, 2016. 9 Months Shinsuke Nakamura: Debuts April, 2016; Defining Moments In Stock February, 2017. 10 Months Anderson & Gallows: Debut April, 2016; Battle Pack 46 In Stock April, 2017. 12 Months Sting: Debuts November, 2014; Defining Moments In Stock July, 2015. 8 Months
...that's not much to sneeze at. Even Anderson & Gallows, who'll constitute the lowest profile of these five, had a pair of figures out in the span of a year. You could do a lot worse. Sure, you could argue the minutiae (Rousey not yet having a ring gear at market, Sting's first figure being a Flashback, etc.), but at least when the high profile names are concerned, I think Mattel has a pretty decent turnaround time, all things considered.

I don't think Ronda will be gone permanently after Mania. But even if she is I don't think Mattel could have known that when they started making her figures. What's it been, like one year since she debuted? They've given us a couple so far and her leather jacket look is pretty bad ass. The UE looks ok.

The drew NXT figures are just hitting and he’s been on Main for almost a year. No sign of Andrade and it’s been a year as well. The NXT line is nothing but a burden

People really seem to underestimate how involved the process is. Factory production schedules are probably built out months in advance, if not longer and there are dozens of lines across the company. They can't just say, "hey, can you wait a few months on that next line of Barbies? Jinder Mahal just jumped from jobbing to the main event."
WWE is pretty unique compared to other toy properties in that gimmicks and costumes can basically change on the fly, sometimes literally overnight. It also doesn't help that gimmicks and merch seem to change over at a much faster pace today than 10-20 years ago. All things considered, I think Mattel actually does a great job keeping up with current talent and looks.

my only question is.....how did OP get his bad trader tag removed🤔 Chip ChicagoThat is a good question. Your case was one I hadn't thought much about in the past two years, but I'm almost positive he was tagged back then. I can't think of a reason why he shouldn't be to this day.

Hideo Itami signed with WWE in 2014 and here we are still waiting on that elite figure.
Mattel must be really slow, or racist.

My God.. it takes about a year for Mattel to produce a figure. Rousey debuted with that attire April of last year and the figure comes out May of this year. That’s a little over a year and one month....so what are you complaining about? A month? Please... stop.

Ronda debuted in Jan of 2018 and had a figure out by Oct 2018. Whiles Im not going to say they are "slow" theres no reason the only two Ronda figures released so far are of her in shirt & pants. I have no desire to have a mismatching UE Ronda to display with my other women but I would like to have an elite ring gear version and that might not be likely until if/when she comes back.

Nuff said. these figures admittingly took forever to come out, in their defense though apparently the figure were ready to go in July of last year.

Nuff said. these figures admittingly took forever to come out, in their defense though apparently the figure were ready to go in July of last year. They're also just now coming into prominence on the main roster. There's a sliding scale for who's going to be made when, as there's always going to be the drive to keep the most prominent faces available. One of the biggest market demos for them is always the first time viewer who hasn't seen three dozen Romans come to production. Aleister Black is primarily targeted toward collectors and diehards, which isn't to say there aren't hands on customers after him, but they're in a relative minority. Bill is a known NXT fan, but he's got a wide, wide market to satisfy. Some names are simply going to hit the market quicker than others.
