Was there a reason that Nash didnt have a match? He accompanied Hall to the ring instead. Was he injured?
If he wasnt injured, I would have had him go against Kane. Then Angle would go up against Taker, and then I would have had Vince and Flair in the street fight from the Royal Rumble.

I know it sounds cliche for Kevin Nash, but if I recall correctly I do believe he was dealing with some sort of injury that kept him on the sidelines that night. I actually think the original plan was for Nash to take on Kane. Jakks even released a two-pack of the two in a WrestleMania X8 themed wave of figures.

He wasn't injured at all.
If you people go back and watch, he wrestles on the Raw and Smackdown shows before and after Wrestlemania X8
The word was, they kept Nash off the show in case Hall was an issue. Meaning in case Hall became a drunk and messed everything up. So Nash was the backup plan to wrestle Austin at Mania.
Hall didn't mess up.... not until a month later, and then got fired.
So no, Nash wasn't injured or anything during that time frame.

Nash vs Kane would've been a great match. Also he wasn't injured because he wrestled the Raws and Smackdowns before and after Mania.

Wasn’t it because if Scott Hall showed up to the show intoxicated they could have Nash step in his place and wrestle Austin?

He was the backup in case Scott Hall decided to go hard in the paint.

Makes me wonder why they didn't plan Austin vs Nash with Hall in his corner from the beginning. I believe even Hall suggested it at one point.

Say if Scott arrived to the building in no shape to compete that night or some other complication came up & they went with Kevin Nash to face Austin instead, do you think he would of had a knee brace ready for the match?..
I ask this because I remember hearing from an interview big Kev did quite some time ago that he was trying to get in contact with the Disco Inferno before his first match back where he inevitably did tear his quad in that 10 man tag match on Raw, he was trying to get in talks to borrow a knee brace from Disco but he couldn't get to him in time & instead had to wrestle on Raw without wearing one. Think about it, we could of possibly seen the legendary torn quad moment a few months sooner & on the grandest stage of them all no doubt, that would of surely been a Wrestlemania moment to remember..

WM X8 to me is still one of the worst booked big shows in WWE history. In 2002 had the deeps roster in history of big named talent and still could properly book Wrestlemania.Nash should have without question wrestled at the show and I've always felt it should have been The Outsiders Vs. APA while Austin would have won the title from Jericho and we would have gotten Austin/Triple H for the belt as the co main event along side Rock/Hogan.
The card should have been,
Rock/Hogan Austin/Triple H for the WWF Title Flair/Taker Angle/Perfect Hardy's/Dudley's/Edge & Christian TLC IV APA/Outsiders RVD/Jericho for the IC Title DDP/Booker T for the European Title Jazz/Lita/Trish for the Women's Title Big Show/Kane

My bad, I had forgotten that Nash competed in that 3 on 2 handicap match on the Raw before Wrestlemania plus he wrestled the Rock on Smackdown a week or so after WM. So in that time frame of being active weekly, he obviously would of kept a knee brace ready with him..
