What if Eddie Guerrero Had Not Passed Away?

Was it ever said for sure that HBK vs. Eddie Guerrero was gonna happen at WrestleMania 22??

I still think Vince vs. HBK was gonna happen. I never heard of any Guerrero vs. HBK talk, that to me just seemed to be a rumour that started years ago, and people ran with it saying it was legit.

well, if Eddie has not passed it may have changed the course for benoit’s life. not going to speculate about that, but if the Benoit thing also hadn’t happened and Eddie had won, I think they both would have been really celebrated and their main event positions solidified. Eddie was already carrying a large portion of the smack down product.

I doubt she would have even been an on screen character if Eddie was still alive.

With you mentioning Benoit's life, I tend to think, that had Eddie not died, the Benoit incident may not have happened. Yes, a big part in what led to that day, was the damage that had happened to Benoit's brain from his ring work, and steroids, but it also seemed loosing Eddie played some role in it too. From what I've read, many talk about how Benoit's personality shifted more after Eddie died. I think Eddie was kind of a calming influence in Benoit's life, like his last life line and when he lost that, he drifted into more of a dark place, with the already strained marriage he had. I'm not saying, if Eddie had lived, it wouldn't have happened, but I think there's a chance it could have.

He might have jumped ship to TNA at one point.

I definitely thought he would have gone on till 2008 and then maybe done a feud or 2 part time until 2011-12 like Taker or HBK in 2010. I don't think his body would have taken much more punishment after 2007-8.

Eddie slowly becomes friends with Batista after No Mercy 2005 because of Eddie's grit and heart and that made the rivalry one of respect

Him and Shawn should cross paths at Survivor Series in the SD/Raw thing hint tease it. Have Eddie eliminate Shawn. Shawn can come back and get Eddie eliminated

Make him knockoff Batista for the title at Armageddon 2005. Eddie continues to run as tweener champion. Eddie is still seen as the light of Team SmackDown, even if Orton survived. So it can set up Eddie/Orton after Orton/Taker. Maybe show him show lighter side of his character and him enter feud with Randy Orton at Royal Rumble 2006. Have Orton play off the Legend Killer stuff, and Eddie is one of the last legends he has yet to kill. Orton can be disrespectful, have Eddie slowly hint face run. Seeing it new lease on life and trying to payback for his sons. Orton lays in question of it. Eddie goes over.

Eddie and Shawn can have verbal altercation at the Rumble

Eddie's change of heart snaps when Rey Mysterio becomes his 1# contender questioning Eddie's new change of heart. Threatening to take away everything Eddie won back. It's hotly contested in Ladder match with Eddie proving he can beat Rey and he has Rey beat till Shawn Michaels. Rey wins the World Title Orton, and Angle can still have triple threat for Mania 22.

Eddie/Shawn is stopped from happening after Eddie showed up on Raw attacking Shawn and Shawn repaying the favor. Both times brawls ran through the crowd/backstage/etc. It was high liability. Vince didn't want his two biggest stars going at it. Shawn didn't head this and challenged Eddie to parking lot brawl that had both men taken away in hand cuffs. Vince was going to fire Shawn, until Shawn took Vince out through elbow through table sending message. It was finally given the green light by Shane McMahon. Shawn Michaels defeated Eddie Guerrero WrestleMania 22.

Eddie continues to sink lower no showing SmackDown after Mania instead showing up on Raw attacking and bloodying Shawn. Vince didn't do anything. Eddie then rubbed this into Michaels family's face. And Shawn was put in place wanting rematch. Eddie and Shawn fought in bloody battle at Backlash 2006. With Eddie getting the win by Mr.McMahon hitting Shawn with steel pipe repaying him.

Eddie was conflicted attacking Mr.McMahon and continuing going nuts. Eddie wanted to beat Shawn on his own and returned on Raw to invite Shawn to Judgment Day to finish this rivalry in Street Fight. Shawn agreed and both men were facing pressure from the McMahon's iron fist. Eddie Guerrero won at Judgment Day 2006 leaving the ring covered in blood.

Eddie Guerrero then unleashed vicious attack on Rey Mysterio. Eddie wanted one match. Rey wasn't willing to give Eddie the match considering him mad man and a sociopath. Eddie would beg Rey and even beatdown wouldn't do it. Until Eddie threatened to attack his own wife. Eddie's bad guy image was taken to new level as Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero was set for Steel Cage at Great American Bash 2006. Eddie Guerrero left World Heavyweight Champion.

Eddie Guerrero was back as champion and quickly becoming the most hated man on SmackDown when Eddie cut promo regarding his behavior. He was attacked verbally by Bobby Lashley. Bobby Lashely would later in the night nail Guerrero with spear. Guerrero would return the favor by bashing Lashley in the head with a glass bottle. Guerrero spit on Lashley as rookie. The two would have heated engagement at Summer Slam 2006, with Guerrero winning.

Guerrero seen as the biggest target on SmackDown cut massive shoot on the roster again. Teddy Long seeing tensions brewing let Guerrero chose his next contender. Guerrero would avoid this leaving the roster in mystery attacking the Undertaker with crowbar. Guerrero would beat Taker down. And send the message that he's going to hunt and he will not be the hunted. Guerrero opened up parandoras box the darkness in Guerrero's heart taking on the the motif of darkness in the Undertaker. The two clashed for No Mercy 2006, ending in DQ with Guerrero low blowing Taker only to be mauled alive by Taker.

Guerrero would fake a injury and use it as way to get Taker off him only to bate him and hire local thugs to attack Taker. But, Guerrero wasn't running and he was going to get what he paid for in Buried Alive match. Guerrero defeated Taker at Survivor Series 2006.


A Beat The Clock was held to crown Guerrero's next contender, it was Batista. Batista fought his way back from injury to get back to the title. Batista was back. Guerrero would try to reform their friendship. Batista would attempt this, but would come under attack by the lockeroom. Batista finally grew disgusted of Guerrero and lashed out on him. It went down at Armageddon 2006 with Batista winning.

Guerrero would attempt to Batista on the shelf again attacking him and beating him and doing as much damage as he humanly can. Guerrero wanted to end Batista's career, Batista would win at the Royal Rumble 2007 in Stretcher match

Guerrero would continue to attack low mid carders and brutally beat them down. Guerrero would become beyond disruptive to the roster, Teddy Long was going to do something until Matt Hardy stepped and did something challenging Guerrero to No Way Out 2007 to put his US title on the line.

Guerrero managed to win, and beat Hardy 2 more times on SmackDown. Guerrero would continue to run around and disrupt the show until Teddy Long brought out Chris Beniot. Chris Beniot remained silent and away from Guerrero and his actions. Guerrero went into insanity spitting in Beniot's face and threatening his family. Guerrero's mad man structure continued seeing that all his friends betrayed him since he became WWE champion in 2004.

Beniot would defeat Guerrero at WrestleMania 23. However the two went to draw at Backlash 2007, and Beniot ended the feud in Submission match at Judgment Day 2007 that Guerrero would let himself pass out in Crossface.

Guerrero took time off and was drafted to ECW and made his debut the ECW after Vengeance 2007 and was gored by Marcus Corvon. Guerrero was hostile to the ECW originals and wanted no part in them. But Corvon was one man army. Taking out each one of them he can. Corvon inflicted the same pain Guerrero did to his enemies in 2006/2005. Guerrero would come back bringing out the same vicious nature challenging Corvon to Summer Slam 2007.

Corvon went over leaving Guerrero in pool of blood leaving his ex wife Vickie Guerrero crawling over and crying over Eddie as he is stretchered out. Eddie stated he wasn't done and Corvon would be fool to think so. Eddie refuses to give up. And that should be known. Corvon surprised he didn't break Eddie's spirit, he attacks Vickie Guerrero who became SmackDown's New General manager. Eddie returned saving his wife and reunited the duo. Eddie slowly started face turn.

Eddie Guerrero would defeat Corvon in Hardcore match at Unforgiven 2007. Eddie was then mocked by Johny Nitro and made statement out of. Nitro sick of Guerrero taking his attention away and Eddie's presence on the brand. Nitro would issue challenge for No Mercy 2007. Nitro managed to outwit Guerrero at No Mercy 2007.

Guerrero would then get one more chance at Nitro and lose the next ECW. Sabu became the next 1# contender. Vickie and Eddie continued to work on their relationship. And become deeper in love then they were before and Eddie fixing his ways. Sabu was attacked in the backstage and Eddie was found as the only suitable replacement. Eddie defeated Johnny Nitro at Cyber Sunday 2007 for the ECW Championship.

Eddie Guerrero and Vickie's prosperity continued. Eddie Guerrero was confronted by Sabu who returned attacking and putting Eddie through table. Sabu tried choking Eddie out with piece of barbed wire. Sabu accused Eddie of taking him out. Sabu also questioned Guerrero as true face to ECW. The two settled the score at Survivor Series 2007 in Extreme Ladder match with Eddie winning.

It was soon revealed Morrison and The Miz were working together and it was Miz who did it, But Eddie wasn't done with Sabu. Morrison and The Miz tried to close in on Eddie and Sabu's feud. Eddie would soon have tensions with Edge and grow uncomfortable by Vickie taking Edge's side in disputes on SmackDown. Eddie would reform his friendship with Batista. Eddie Guerrero defeated The Miz, Morrison, and Sabu in Fatal 4 way at Armageddon 2007.

Meanwhile, Edge won the World Title. Eddie Guerrero disappointed in Vickie's choices taking Edge's side. Came to SmackDown to question her and eventually found out Vickie was having affair. Vickie wanted to give Eddie the same pain she felt. Eddie wanted to kill Edge. And Eddie was after the World Champion he tried to get Chavo on his side, but Chavo would even backstab his uncle. Edge cost Eddie the ECW title to Chavo as well. Edge would defeat Eddie Royal Rumble 2008 and No Way Out 2008.

Eddie without way to get his vengeance on Edge would show up at Chavo Guerrero's house and beat him down and win a tournament that was stacked against him to face him at WrestleMania 24. The two would unveil tensions hidden since they're young days. Eddie would defeat Chavo at WrestleMania 24 for the ECW Championship.

Eddie would drop the title back at Backlash to Chavo but regain it at Judgment Day 2008 from Chavo ending the feud. Cm Punk and Eddie Guerrero would enter friendly rivalry defeating Miz and Morrison at One Night Stand and it would go back to Punk and Eddie's feud in IWA in 2002. Punk wanted forum to prove himself just like he gave to Eddie when Eddie needed something to prove he was the star he was. Punk beat Eddie at Night of Champions 2008, and would win the WWE Title in Cash in on Triple H the next night vacating the ECW title but being the only co champion in history. Eddie was drafted to SmackDown the week before NOC.

Eddie was back on SmackDown and Edge did his best to hold Eddie back and avoid Eddie his worst fear is back. Eddie Guerrero hunted Edge and exposed Edge for cheating on Vickie Guerrero. Eddie defeated Edge at the Great American Bash for the World Championship.

Eddie now stood in the way of Triple H. SmackDown's top draft pick. Tensions with these two would pick off with Eddie doubting in Triple H as the top draft pick. Things were clear cut for these two to not get along building to iconic clash for Summer Slam 2008. Eddie Guerrero would manage to get the best of Triple H.

Eddie continued his reign as champion retaining in Championship Scramble catching Jeff Hardy's eye. Hardy came so close. Guerrero and Triple H have not finished the rivalry, and Triple H looms in the horizon. Jeff Hardy brings a attitude Eddie Guerrero likes. Jeff comes close at No Mercy, but Eddie wins.

Jeff Hardy wants another shot, but Triple H was appointed 1# contender and he defeated Guerrero at Cyber Sunday 2008. Jeff saw himself in the middle of World title struggle and Survivor Series 2008 was his time with heavy fan support, but it was an attack from Christian ordered by Edge that saw Edge steal Jeff Hardy's moment. It lead to 6 man Hell in a Cell also bringing in Undertaker and Big Show. Jeff would get his moment and followed up with defeating Eddie at the 2009 Royal Rumble.

Eddie Guerrero would take most of the year off. Eddie would return the SmackDown after Survivor Series 2009, saving Chavo Guerrero an attack from the SES. Guerrero would question the man Cm Punk has turned into cult leader. Guerrero would loss at Armageddon 2009. Followed by this The Guerreros would continue a rivalry with the SES going into the Rumble and at Elimination Chamber 2010 they'd join forces with Rey Mysterio in losing effort in 6 man Tag Team match.

Eddie and Rey finally would make amends, Teddy Long was fired by his defiance to Mr.McMahon and replaced by the returning Vickie Guerrero again. Vickie not liking the SES but seeing them at odds with 3 blacklisted people supported them. Vickie would enlist in the Chosen One Drew Mcintyre to fix her problem. Drew Mcintyre was vicious and would exploit the older veteran. Eddie would overcome Drew Mcintyre at WrestleMania 26 winning the IC Championship.

Eddie would continue to aide his friend Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero having series of IC title victories over Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Cm Punk on PPVs and SmackDowns (mainly with Punk). Eventually Guerrero dropped the title back to Mcintyre at Summer Slam 2010 in Fatal 4 way.

Meanwhile Guerrero believed it was time to wind down and he continued to hunt the World Title and it kept evading him with Alberto Delrio has villain directly hunting Guerrero. Followed by Christian also trying to get the World Title. Vickie started new relationship with Dolph Ziggler who took the World Title off Edge at Survivor Series 2010 ending the 8 month reign. Ziggler and Guerrero finally came to be when Guerrero won the Rumble and Guerrero defeated Ziggler for the World Title ending his career as a Champion.
