Couldn’t find a general thread about the Retro line. Figured it might help to have one thread where we can post and discuss new announcements, alternative headsculpts, poor distribution and of course the lack of jumpers and the lack of reusing body molds.
With the new figures shown at AXXESS, we already have something to discuss!

Diesel. 25 years I’ve been waiting for this and it’s finally here.
Because they’re prototypes, they’re all hand-painted a look a little rough around the edges, but I am ridiculously excited for this Diesel. When the retros were first shown at comic con or whatever it was years ago, the one figure I needed was Diesel. Now it’s HERE!
Of course it’s immediately met with negative remarks on social media. I don’t understand some people, I really don’t. Nothing is ever good enough.

It’s awesome to finally get him (and the retro line in general - obviously there’s always gonna be people I didn’t want & people I’m still waiting for; but they can’t give us all the legends we wantcstraight away, I get that). But to be honest I was not quite as excited for this Diesel as I had anticipated; I don’t know why - maybe because of the fairly recent find of hasbro Diesel head & artwork. But it’s still awesome to get him. And while I wasn’t particularly interested in current guys initially, maybe as my son gets older ge’ll Be able to play with them & actually know who they are! |

The retro Diesel is far better than the Hasbro we would have got. We can moan about the lack of tassels, or molded on singlet all we like, but the original had neither and was just going to be a Kevin Nash head on a Papa Shango body, and that would have sucked.

It looks awesome to me. I really can not wait to get a few of this diesel, I like junk yard too. Even elias with the Guitar great figure.
I look forward to seeing this line continue.
If we can get Mabel, Jeff Jarret, Evil Doink, bastion booger and a few others, then this line will have done everything. Jerry Lawler would be another great figure.

I think Diesel looks great, but man I would have loved it more if he had a grey tank top, but that is just a personal preference. While the line has not gone exactly the way I wanted it to. I like it for what it is and I am along for the ride. I think that new series they showed was a lot of fun. I would have preferred a more old school Matt Hardy, but I love that head sculpt it is freaking hilarious. JYD fits in with the Iron Shiek and also back when I used to play with the LJN Bendies, JYD was one of my favorites. I collect all of these on card and I  ed up my series 2 Sting really bad. So I might pre-order all four and see if I can trade Elias with someone for Sting. For me it is early 90s characters that I want who Hasbro missed out on. Haku, Barbarian, Orient Express, Beverly Brothers, Macho King, Hart Foundation, Dino Brava, Tito Santana (white trunks), Bad News Brown, Roddy Piper (ring gear) are my most wanted  |

Diesel looks better than I thought, knew they were going to reuse that mold and not mold the singlet, so I'm not shocked by it.
JYD, eh, I'm happy that 2/4 are flashbacks, so can't complain about it. But, just hate the split torso and over exaggerated spread legs/arms look. And he was there until Oct. 88', so much closer to the Hasbro time than Shiek too.
Other 2, don't care and won't buy. Is the one in the blue tights Matt Hardy? I couldn't even tell, and I don't even know who Elias is lol. At least with everyone else they've released, I was vaguely familiar with through hearing of them on the message boards or mentions in podcasts I listen to.
Hope these go up for preorder shortly.
Was there any sign of Series 11? Or Series 9 MOC images?

I think it's good not great. Glad we are getting him. Also glad its 94 mullet Diesel. And yes, that is Matt Hardy (current look, not flashback).

No clue why people are bashing these. Diesel is great. People just like to complain about everything now a days lone is ever satisfied. Fine with me I'll clean up all those diesels that people say are crap. Same with JYD

I’m really happy that they’ve basically decided st least one flashback per series now. As a result I collect them all, if it was just modern I may have given up.
Diesel is awesome, anyone complaining about reusing parts or lack of intricate details is remembering hasbro wrong imo.

Doubt they'll release the entrance, but I would love it if someone with the skill would make one with el wire to sell.
