How are people feeling about the Headbangers and Dudleys getting retros now that we have confirmation they're under contract? I'd buy all 4.

Head bangers don’t really do anything for me, but Dudley boys would be cool.

Love the new retro ring but I hate the stickers. Its like you get 1 shot to lay it down perfect. They are so sticky and not sized right. Thankful for retro stars.

Could you imagine Brother Love and a funeral parlor???
But I think the tooling that would be needed do that well would be way too expensive for this line

Mattel’s version would only be a step down. Love the new retro ring but I hate the stickers. Its like you get 1 shot to lay it down perfect. They are so sticky and not sized right. Thankful for retro stars. I’m making my rings Raw and Nitro themed so I didn’t bother with any of them. My biggest issue thus far is that every finger print and spec of dust shows up. Could you imagine Brother Love and a funeral parlor??? But I think the tooling that would be needed do that well would be way too expensive for this line Agreed it would be too expensive or they would go really, really cheap on it. Sorry to keep plugging my IG but it’s the easiest way to post pics on here. I recently purchased a nice custom IYH set (Hasbro scaled). It really makes me wish Mattel would produce things like that (swipe to see a few pics with it in the background): http://instagram.com/p/C5WDt_3LLMK

Headbangers would fit in more with the line, especially if they are going to continue extending into 1997/98. However, with that said, an early ECW set/line would be interesting if they could get about 20 performers to flesh it out: Taz, Sabu, RVD, Raven, Dreamer, Sandman, Candido, Bigelow, Dudley's, Francine, Saturn, Rey, Eddie, Jericho, etc.

Forbidden Figurines?

Thank you! Correct guess; they are belts made by Forbidden Figurines.

Both would be a pass for me, not wanting anything past 97' or very early 98'. So Dudleys are well past my cutoff, and Headbangers were done by FC like someone else said, and even then I don't feel I need them since I only want top names from 95-97.

Thank you! Correct guess; they are belts made by Forbidden Figurines. Those are so good. I've gotten a few for her: Winged Eagle, NWA 10 LBS of Gold, Silver Tag Titles, Classic IC Title.

Obviously still just on a high from last night, but based on the recent debate in the thread about adding current guys to the line with the brilliant suggestion of using this year's WrestleMania line-up, I'd love it if Mattel Creations could've announced a made-to-order Retros set based on the main event:
-The Rock (Final Boss) -Roman Reigns (Tribal Chief) -Paul Heyman -Cody Rhodes
Could sub-in Rollins for Heyman to do the night 1 tag match, but I think the title match is the one to commemorate, plus Heyman appeals more to the Hasbro generation (could throw-in an ECW hat, though he really needs the modern belt for this set so might not be in budget). The Rock needs to be in the waistcoat attire from his appearance in the title match, ideally with the weight belt but then Cody would probably need his as well so that would probably sink the budget. Roman also has the history from the first series of the line, and Cody obviously the family history.
A lot wouldn't buy it due to their own collecting rules, but the emotion from last night might have made it a nice experiment if Mattel could move that quick.

I’ll be spacing out my reviews for the Rock ‘N’ Wrestling bundle to avoid spamming this thread. 360 VIEW: Wendi Richter http://instagram.com/p/C5Ye7fTrBZP The Good: http://instagram.com/p/C5YsF3ArPMD Not a ton to say about this to be honest. The packaging is fine/good. I still prefer the old style bubble but am warming up to the slide packaging. I’m happy to see women get representation in the retro lines. Wendi often times didn’t get the credit she deserved during her prime years so this was a nice choice. The colors pop. Blending together the audio clips with the instrumental track was fun and a bit of a challenge. I think only one word bled through lol. The Bad: Sigh…I swear I don’t hate Retros nor WWE nor women…but this figure is not great. Why the Running Man/Six Million Dollar Man pose in the video?
She Does Not Can Not Stand.
This was a failure on Mattel’s part. She struggles even on the flattest of surfaces. That aside, I don’t love the hair. It’s more fitting than what we got with R&B Greg and it also does look like her poofy hair but it’s just a bit too much. It adds more height than I would prefer. I wish the sunglasses came off but that isn’t really on brand with Hasbros so I can’t complain there. For the record: I wish Hasbro sunglasses came off too.
So How Do They Measure Up?: If you swipe through all the photos in the IG post above, you’ll get to see how Wendi holds up next to each major Retro figure maker. Overall the scale of it works nicely across all brands.
*Note that I am no longer including photos of figures from Rush*
Final Verdict: There just isn’t much meat on the bone here. It’s my least favorite of this set and possibly my least favorite Retro from Mattel. Maybe if I had a stronger connection to the character I would feel differently. But overall, this figure looks okay and fits in with the Hasbro style but it definitely certainly didn’t blow me away. The rest of this set on the other hand exceeded my expectations.

I think any current wrestlers would be a welcome addition and spice things up. said it before but apart from a few that just want 1980's wrestlers most of us would love it. its no coincidence that most people didn't like or want nikoli / bob orton / richer / (apart from being first female) ali etc. how could a cody / roman / punk / fiend for example not sell better than wendy ritcher etc. Im all for legends and defo keep them coming but the roster atm is fire. Most of the hasbro era is done anyway (defo some updates and new attires would be welcome) so i would love more attitude era / new gen. when i say current just to be clear i dont mean baron corbin lol i mean the 15-20 hot players.

You make an excellent point about the quality of the talent chosen regardless of timeframe. It’s pretty safe to assume that the children who collected the Hasbros at the time were largely still fans at least during the Attitude Era when the WWF was at its peak, but after that then you get onto less secure ground in respect to the main audience for the line, so for example an Evolution bundle when Mattel next have access to Flair would likely go down better than a generic Ruthless Aggression set. The key is that any collection with current guys doesn’t show-up in the existing Mattel Creations schedule since we only get two a year and obviously legends are the right focus for the line, but a made-to-order bundle with something as big as the WrestleMania main event featuring arguably the biggest WWE star ever could be interesting if the WWE team could get cooperation from the Mattel Creations team. The Ringside sets might have more flexibility, but still should be legends if they have another avenue for current talent.

Modern talent could hurt the line. Some people that are currently completionist for the line might not buy them and once they don't buy one set they might pick and choose what other ones they want. Someone that really only wants 90s figures that is buying the 80s ones because they are buying all of them might stop buying the 80s ones after they don't buy the modern ones. If you don't have all of them you don't need any of them is a mind set that some people have.
I don't think they should do modern talent until they are running out of past wrestlers to make.

This may be a stretch, but could they do an ECW 4 pack?
We have WCW and WWF/E from that era so getting a set of ECW guys would be awesome, I just don't know if they would have access to the characters to pull this off.
RVD Taz Sabu Sandman
that would probably be my dream ECW four pack, but we know for a fact Taz will be off limits.

For me, anything post Attitude is a push. I was a fan and collected ljn and hasbro, watched the attitude era and switched off around 2001! Haven't watched any wrestling since, only documentaries about the early eras! I'm a nostalgia collector so only that era interests me, I think mattel also realised this with there recent direction with retros.
