Loved it.
was a huge middle finger to these folks who kept drilling on that the Walkers were really the good guys and would prevail. That nonsense fried me all the time.
Did feel slightly anticlimactic mind you but overall the episode was a triumph for me...
Now to see that f*ckin bitch Cersei & the Mountain get theirs....

Think what really let me down was the lack of sword to sword combat. They give several characters valyrian steel swords, let us know about them and then none of them fight anything other than muddy zombies the fat guy was icing on his back without one. Just really lacking episode in attending to servicing those characters, their journeys.
Like having a star wars film without a lightsabre fight... oh yeah they do that now, meh.

Good episode, made up for the dull previous episodes. Never figured Arya would be the 1 to kill the Knight King.

I get this criticism but I think it plays to how the living underestimated the dead. Arya’s conversation with Gendry kind of summed that up too where he was trying to communicate to her she’s never seen anything like what was coming for them. We didn’t see the full army when Jon and crew went to capture a walker and they lost a dragon. The army of dead at Winterfell was three times that size. So I think it brought a level of “realism” that the living could barely swing their swords there was so many of the dead. I was expecting a full blown sword fight with Jon and the Night King, though. So again, I totally get what you’re saying. That being said, I think the battle at King’s Landing will feature tons of sword combat. You’ll presumably have the Mountain vs the Hound, and Daario, Jon, Arya, Bronn, Brienne, and some hammer and axe swinging with Gendry and Tormund all fighting uphill because they’ll be outnumbered. The Last Jedi absolutely sucked.

I'm gonna be mad pissed if this show has a bullcrapstereotypical happy ending with Jon ruling the 7 kingdoms and the 3 remaining Starks coming out alive.
The heartbreak has really lessened once they passed the point where the books are at. Maybe GRRM is saving the good stuff for the books?

I am literally itching for that piece of crapEuron to die.
The amount of death the last 2 weeks has been shockingly low. But they sure have hit where it hurts.

good episode rebuilding momentum to the final battle.
I kind’ve wish George RR Martin would’ve kept hush about the spinoffs being made. it feels like arya and the hound reteaming may be to set up just that.

Sansa: We don't like Daenerys and don't want her to be Queen.
Jon: Well that's too bad because she's going to be Queen and there's nothing you can do to stop that. BTW I have some news but don't tell anyone, k?

Loose lips sink ships. My chips are on the table at this point, and we will see a moment where Danny has a choice, do for the people or do for herself. I don’t want to see her become the tyrant her father was, but last night proved she acts first and thinks second. Also, I need a good cop/worse cop team up show of Aarya and The Hound.

Someone posted a review, Nerdist I think it was, of the episode being the best and worst of GoTs. I kind of agreed with it. Like the first part of the episode with Tyrion and Varys, and even Dany trying to threaten Jon, all felt like OG GoTs and was brilliant but the back half of the episode was filled with some of the dumbest tactical moments of the entire series. Let's ignore the fact Dany would have seen the ships, why in blue would she not circle out of range, fly low to the water, and attack the ships from behind? I also think it looked like Drogon was in range at the castle based on how far away we saw Rhaegal die just minutes earlier. I can ignore Dany rushing off to King's Landing without letting anyone recuperate, her dragons included. That's just her hubris, and she's shown that plenty. Tyrion believes his sister loves him. As bold, stupid, as he acted, he was right. Cersei was always going to kill Missandei, but he revealed a moment of weakness in her. Which probably comes back to haunt her at some point in the next two episodes with her other brother. That aside, I just think it took a crazy amount of stupid to make that dragon dying work. No scouts, Dany not seeing the ships, long range weapons on moving ships, Euron being a perfect shot with a weapon he's probably never fired on open water. I get that CGI dragons are expensive but yikes. I'm not sure what I even want to see at this point. Arya kills Cersei wearing Jaime's face. The Hound kills the Mountain. The throne torn down. Dany turning into Jon's last Boss Fight. I guess?

I want to see arya die defending the hound from his brother. That's old school GoT.
I've long thought Dany would be the final villain of the show. Seems to be coming true.

If Sansa doesn't sit on the throne after the final episode I just can't be bothered.

Been saying that Jon is going to be forced to kill Dany after she goes mad with paranoia (like her father) the SECOND they first met and he bent the knee.
Fully confirmed it when he was revealed as Aegon Targaryen.

I'm having a hard time getting past why Cersei didn't just unleash the firing squad on Dany right then and there. Game over.
