Drew McIntyre’s Smackdown return was cut short, as he left his six-man tag match midway through during the commercial break. As Matt Degnan reports from being in attendance, McIntyre walked out of the match and didn’t leave up the ramp, instead walking behind the fans on the side.
Degnan added that McIntyre “just waived his arms in the air as he walked around the barricade and went to the back.” There’s speculation that he might have suffered an injury during the match, though that is not confirmed.

He too was probably annoyed by The Bar as well, and felt he deserved better.

There's rumors that he's been sick over the last few days. Thus why his match at WM was underwhelming and he wasn't on RAW.
It sounds like guessing to me, but it'd be better than being injured.

I'm sure he is/was probably sick or had a injury to decide to walk out on the match. The cynic in me thinks he's just as fed up with booking as we are and gave them an FU. Him going over Roman at WM would have been a far more optimal situation from a storyline point-of-view. WWE could have positioned the next top heel after Brock, and Roman would have lost nothing because he's coming back after 6 months so ring rust is expected. Instead we get superman punch/spear as usual.

It's being reported that WWE had Drew do that to keep him strong after the Roman loss. They didn't want him on the losing team.
That makes no sense. Why book him in the match if you don't want him in the match?

Why book him in the match if you don't want him in the match? It was also never mentioned on commentary so I had just assumed he was outside the ring or whatever. I certainly didn’t exclude him from the loss because I didn’t see him on tv.

Why book him in the match if you don't want him in the match? I thought Roman beating McIntyre was the only mistake WWE made at Mania. McIntyre is the next heel in line for either World Title and Roman had an excellent excuse if he lost. Everything post Ziggler has been booked poorly in regards to McIntyre imo. If Big E isn't willing to turn heel on Kofi, I think McIntyre should take the title off of Kofi here shortly and be the guy on Smackdown. I don't think he needs MITB but he'd be perfect to win the case and then hunt down either champion right now. I thought Roman and McIntyre had a good build but it was placed in the dead part of the Mania card and they did a formulaic Reigns match. McIntyre is pretty much the last guy on the entire roster who should be getting the Hogan heel treatment.

There was so much potential for a good Reigns redemption story if he had lost. Start him off slow and build him up over the next few months. McIntyre should be damn near unstoppable. If he's going to lose, it should not be a formulaic paint by numbers match.

Yeah, and what made it all worse was how commentary on SD was going CRAZY about The Bar bringing out this DANGEROUS SCOTTISH PSYCHOPATH... who just lost at Wrestlemania, and didn't even show up on Raw... They need to stop cherry picking when Drew is formidable and just pull the damn trigger on a World Title run for him already.

Who should lose theirs to Drew now then? Kofi? Seth? Why?

Three Rules to Make a Superstar Look Strong
Rule 1: Don't book him against Roman Reigns
Rule 2: Don't book him against Roman Reigns
Rule 3: DON'T F*CKING BOOK HIM AGAINST ROMAN REIGNS

wow just wow - if that's true, they actually thought the act of slipping him out of the match would erase any further damage they've done to his character?! Is Freddy Prince Jr. and Vince Russo back on creative? WWE creative is wack AF!
McIntyre is the total package: top shape, top promo, top heel, and they are squandering this guy. I'm not saying just to hand him a belt, but there's so much money to be made if he's the antagonist to any of these titles. Instead we were overexposed to McIntyre vs Rollins on the Road to WrestleMania, he gets beat infront of 80,000 people live and millions worldwide, to a guy who has been out of the ring for 6 months getting cancer treatment, and he "slips" out of the main event match he was heavily promoted to be in?
Now I am confident that Dean Ambrose made a wise-career move.

Meltzer has reported that it's a work. I’d hope so. that type of douchery is exclusive to Austin Aries, that’d be disappointing of McIntyre.
