Chase: approximately 1 out of every four cases figure variant Store Exclusive: 1 figure packed in every case exclusive to that retailer This is the terminology Mattel has used since day one and has not deviated. Store exclusives are not chases. You may wanna call em that but you’re wrong. So...going by those numbers: Chase = 1:4 odds Store Exclusive = 1:7 odds So the store exclusive is like a super chase which would explain why I have seen plenty of "chase" figures and barely any "store exclusive" figures! I did not come up with the naming convention, Mattel did. It’d be a lot less confusing if everyone got on the same page. Why is there such resistance to calling variants “chases” and the exclusives “exclusives”?

For the core Elite line yes it’s cases of 8. For the “Best of” line someone said they were cases of 5.(3 guys 1each and the 4th gets 2)

So...I'll edit that then to Chase = 1:4 odds Store Exclusive = 1:8 odds I did not come up with the naming convention, Mattel did. It’d be a lot less confusing if everyone got on the same page. Why is there such resistance to calling variants “chases” and the exclusives “exclusives”? I just think it sounds a little misleading, that's all. Both Target and Walmart have "store exclusives" for Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series etc. as well where you can find 1-2 pegs full of that figure.

You’re writing it out as if store exclusives are 1 out of every 8 cases. It’s 1 in EVERY case. The chase figures are 1 out of every 4 cases. So, you know every time Target gets a case of E66 that Wolfe is there, but it’s roughly a 25% chance that the case will have a chase KO instead of the regular KO.

Oh, I must've missed that 1 out of every 4 cases part. So it's really...
Chase = 1:32 odds Store Exclusive = 1:8 odds
Interesting. Why am I consistently finding like 3-4 Chase figures and 0 store exclusives then!

I wish they were all that easy to find lol. Tbh I always get to the store and forget which one is the chase.

For me: -Benjamin: gold standard by a mile -Hawkins: blue > black -Aiden: both meh -KO: doesn’t matter -Jeff: regular > chase but both really cool -Mabel: doesn’t matter

they should've ended exclusives when they ended all the exclusive lines in store. Places like RSC or Amazon or even WWE shop is much more obtainable for exclusives. its just stupid to me. Add on the extra "exclusive" to the main elite line like normal. and ship cases to any store or retailer who orders them. They act like people aren't buying 1st in the line figures, when its the exact opposite. the chase figures just aren't as sought after for the reasons you guys have stated, which I agree. Mattel is always doing some off the wall crap that nobody asks for or wants.

i like the idea. it keeps things interesting. some of the chase figures have subtle differences but thats ok its better than a package variant that just has a figure packaged differently.

Store exclusives are also only available to that store. The chase figures are inserted across the entire production run distributed worldwide. So the chase figures are likely higher production runs overall.

I think the majority of people really like the idea of having Chase Variant figures. Sure, some of them like the Curt Hawkins and the Aiden English were nothing special, but some are awesome. I personally really enjoyed the hunt for the Kevin Owens E66 Chase. One of my favorites. They are difficult to find, but not that difficult. Not to mention the unicorns: Alexander Wolfe, Pete Dunne, Sensational Sherri, Bob Backlund, and the soon to be released Pat Patterson. It's a pain in the ass to hunt for them if you never find them. And a lot of us won't. But when/if you do, that feeling is close to unbeatable.

Mattel is a business that sells toys. Retailers wanted an incentive to keep ordering the elite series in high volumes, specifically exclusive figures, like they do with other toy lines.

I ain't into it but it does no harm to me. To those that enjoy the chase for the chase, cool.

Ok how is this for sense. A figure that is suppose be a target store exclusive is being sold online by rsc. Chase exclusive figures are by that definition a failure. Target didn't order enough of there own exclusives, so rsc got there hands on them. Check and Mate sir, end all exclusives.
