We really don’t need most of the ones listed since Hasbro made them and with some of them more than one of that wrestler. We do need Hart Foundation Jim Neidhart to match one of the Hasbro Bret Hart, John Studd & Bundy would be good since they were around when Hasbro was making the figures. We need Jeff Jarrett, Men on a Mission, Brainbusters, Dino Bravo, Rugged Ronnie Garvin, Bad news Brown, Beverly Brothers, Haku, & Barbarian. We don't "need" them, but the list is based off of figures that are most likely available to be made. Otherwise Dino Bravo and King Haku would have been the top 2. Fact is, Mattel has already been making figures that were already made by Hasbro. Most are better, such as Ric Flair and Macho Man. And for those who never got a chance to own any of the Hasbro figures, now they can. From what I've heard, based on forums here and video Q&A's with the guy from Mattel, they are limited as to who they can make figures of when it comes to the legends because of contracts or agreements with WWE. Thats why we have never seen a Demolition tag team or Battle Pack. Same with King Haku Dino Bravo, Wendy Richter, Owen Hart, etc etc. So I listed either wrestlers that I know are not impossible to eventually have a figure, or ones who have already had a figure with Mattel. Be it Elite or Basic or Battle Pack. Whatever. They have a much better chance at being made as a Retro figure. And of course the others like Haku will possibly be made in the future, theres no guarantee Retro's will still be around at that time. Although, I have heard Retro's aren't going away any time soon.

I voted for: Hart Foundation (2 spots), Piper (ring gear from early 90's would be ideal), Jake (heel Tuesday in Tex pref.), and Surfer Sting.
Def don't need guys like Bossman, Perfect, Kamala, Dibiase, Andre etc, that are only really known for one or two looks at least in the Hasbro era and have been covered way better than Mattel ever would.

Here's a quote from another thread with some intelligent insight into the situation with the line:
"Here's some sound advice for the Retro line.
I worked at Walmart and Target (mostly Target) in stocking for a couple years. I always stocked the toy department and was partially in charge of what to stock and when. Now, the problem with the retro line and stores is that they are being released way too fast in small spurts of 4 at a time. As a collector I certainly dont mind that, but stores do. When Mattel was coming out with Series 8 we were stocking the last of our Series 3's. Series 1 and 2 weren't as much of a problem because there were 6 figures to a series and a decent chunk of time between releases. Hence the reason why a lot of stores didn't see series 5, 6, 8, and 9. And some didnt even see series 4. Ours didnt. But then we ordered series 7 which is still clogging the pegs and we still have a couple cases to unload. Obviously we wont be getting series 9 or 10.
My advice, not that anyone is listening, but it would be to release the figures in sets of 8 instead of 4 in twice the time between sets as now. For example, Series 9 was released in April, Series 10 in June, etc. Thats a 2 month span. Stores cant keep up with that! If it was an 8 figure set in 4 months time then we would most likely get every series, every time and it would also probably increase the selling rate of the Retro line.
"No one wants Mattel to stop making the Reteo figures. But some are so hard to get because they have very limited availability and are not in stores. I dont think series 9 was released to any stores anywhere. And it doesnt look like they will, either. Since series 10 is about to be released.
I know Mattel wont take my advice, they probably wont even read this. But trust me, that's their main problem with this line. Too many series' being released too quickly and stores cannot keep up, period.
Im probably one of the Retro Line's biggest supporters. As a collector of the Hasbro figures as a kid, I love these! I also love the anticipation of seeing who's coming out in the next set. No one wants to see these figures continue to be released as much as me. Im trying to help the issue with stores stocking these."
To add to the idea of 8 figures per series, something else I would love would be if each series were sticking to a particular era/promotion. I love to display by era, so if we got a few guys all at once for one era, that would be really cool. And to add onto the topic at hand, here would be my ideas for a series of 8 guys specific to fill in the Hasbro era holes. Any I'll add a few more on for fun then after.
Series 11 (Hasbro era):
Hart Foundation Bret, Hart Foundation Anvil, Heel Jake, Macho King in long tights, Piper in ring gear, Ultimate Warrior (new mold and attire not done by Hasbro), Haku, Barbarian (singles version to go along w/Warlord).
Sereis 12 (Modern Guys):
Cesaro, Roman #2, Cena #2, Brock #2, Curt Hawkins, and whoever else, I'm not up on current product, maybe whichever of the new day guys has been pushed hard as of late.
Sereies 13 (early New Gen, picking up where Hasbro let off):
95 HBK, 95 Diesel, USA Lex, King Mabel, Double J, Bob Backlund, Jerry Lawler, Bulldog (either Allied Powers or return look from late 94' w/shorts/unbraided long hair)
Series 14 (WCW 1996/birth of nWo era):
Hollywood Hogan, Hall and Nash (BATB 96 attire), Surfer Sting (short dark hair period), Arn Anderson, DDP, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Jr.
Series 15 (LJN era):
Honky Tonk Man (w/out jumpsuit/ring gear), Ricky Steamboat, Hulk Hogan, Big John Studd, Strike Force Martel and Tito, King Harley Race, King Kong Bundy

It'd be really cool if they did a special "Kamala w/ Moon on Belly" variant hunt. Only 1,500 exist in the world or something along those lines.

I think people saying we shouldn't have any of the wrestlers Hasbro already gave us are kind of missing the point... what about all the kids and collectors of this line who didn't collect the Hasbro figures and may not have any of them? What about the modern collectors who want a MOC Retro collection? (most MOC Hasbros are pretty expensive!).
More big name "Hasbro guys" are a MUST for the line, imo. Ideally, it would be nice for Hasbro collectors to get their missing and dream figures too - but please keep the original Hasbro guys coming.

All non-jumpers... Surfer Sting Roddy Piper Hart Fountain LOD with removable pads I like these suggestions, especially LOD with removable pads. They also need to start introducing new molds. I like that they added one for Braun/Diesel, hopefully they will continue to add a new mold or two per set.

I like your suggestion, I'd buy all 5. A heel Jake is on the top on my list, though I would prefer the blue flame attire to the black flame but either would be great. Hopefully he comes with the cobra accessory. Also, even though we did get three DiBiase from Hasbro, I could use two more; one in the white suit (that he wore in 92/93) and one in the white trunks (that he wore at SSL 92). And even though they are not high on my list, I'd rather Mattel fill missing holes from Hasbro, i'd be okay with a blue attire Andre (Colossal Connection days) and maybe a green (SSE 89), or orange (RR90), or black (KOTR 93 or SSL 93) attire Mr. Perfect. And, I may be the only one, but I would definitely like a WCW line from the same time period as the hasbro's, 1990-1994. Surfer Sting, Rick Rude, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Stunning Steve, Flyin Brian, Vader, Ron Simmons, Road Warriors, Dustin Rhodes, Barry Windham, Lex Luger, Arn Anderson, Sid Vicious, Davey Boy Smith, Harlem Heat, Steiner Brothers, Paul Orndorff, the Great Muta, etc.

I've been really anticipating something along those lines with the Retros. Maybe a RSC exclusive or a chase variant like you just mentioned. They could really come up with some awesome variants in the retro line.

Not to mention that some of them are near impossible to find under a few hundred bucks. Doesn't have to look the same (it probably wouldn't anyway) but I love the idea of a new Kamala or Bret Hart. Like "DZ WF Legacy" said: a Kamala with a Moon belly as a new Chase variant would be really cool. Bring back the nostalgia. Isn't that what the Retro line is all about?

All non-jumpers... Surfer Sting Roddy Piper Hart Fountain LOD with removable pads Oh man, Im so sick of the jumpers, lol. It makes the figures look handicapped with the legs stuck together like that. The Roman punch and Brock's body mold should be done way more.

Reading all these excellent suggestions - and a basic boredom with the lack of fresh Retro news - has made me think about how they should go about releasing guys with multiple looks to fill the 25 years between the lines, and the other gaps from the Hasbro line. Like should Mattel release Retros of the same guy in chronological order? Plenty were upset that we got modern Goldberg, Jericho and HBK rather than younger versions out first; also Sting skipped the surfer phase straight to crow Sting, and with Savage they went with nWo before tracking back to the 80s look. But Goldust got the debut attire, which I think everyone was on board with. If they went chronological with, for example, Eddie Guerrero then they could work through him like this (based on what Mattel have done in the past with him): 1. WCW singlet ( Hall of Champions) 2. LWo ( Nitro Notables had one, though I'd prefer ring attire from that era rather than jeans with the lWo shirt) 3. Latino Heat ( Hall of Fame Class of 2006)
4. Undisputed Champion ( Legends 6) Different moves for each preferably, especially as his physique changed quite a bit as he got older. Or should they just jump straight to one of the latter two and move on? This assumes the line will continue for years to come of course. I think I'd ideally like some sort of progression like this, but with only 16 figures coming out a year (and half of them being current guys) then maybe it's better to just get one definitive and move on to someone else.

EVERYONE wants to see Demolition again. Be it together or individulally, Retro, Elite, basic, or Battle Pack. IDC. But wouldnt you want to see some of the hasbro redone? Maybe different attire or diff style? like they did with Macho Man? Did you not like the macho man retros? i thought the nwo from series 5 was great, and series 9 was even better! Ric flair was a heck of a step up, too

That would be nice or maybe a R&B Valentine. Hey, we're finally getting Diesel, so anything is possible.
