Real bummer as I was wanting to get that Ultimo (even if not as good as Mattel's figure offerings) and heard there was supposed to be a premium style Ultimo coming out after that. Is it so much to ask for in scale (to Mattel and Jazwares) Ultimo Dragon and Jyushin Thunder Liger?! Edit: Oh and '90s WCW era Psicosis. It's a bummer that the line seems to be losing steam before they get to Dragon, Vampiro, etc. I think the line will still continue, so we should at least get some kind of figure for those guys. But it just doesn't seem like the line is a priority at this point. When they announced the line, I think this was the first or one of the first licensed properties they had. I just looked at their website and it looks like they have a ton of licenses now - Umbrella Academy, Fraggle Rock, Strawberry Shortcake, Popeye. Sales didn't seem great for these first waves, so maybe they're putting focus on other lines now. |

So my Amazon order for Lady Maravilla has been updated to Jan 23, 2023. My Konnan has been updated to Jan 30, 2023. If I get one more delay, I'm done.
I also bit the bullet and bought a Taya Valkyri during the 3.0 Sale for $4.99, now it's $3.99 on the 4.0 sale. I'm guessing there is almost no demand for these figures. I liked the Taya figure in the prototypes, but when it was released with the new mattel basics style of arms with no articulation, I decided I wouldn't place an order. But it's worth $5 for a background figure.
Anyone know if there is any real talk of this line continuing?

The pre order model needs to change. At this time it just doesn’t work.
That’s big and little companies and providers
Look at the issues with Amazon and Walmart in the mattel board, not to mention mattel creations issues, then purchases direct from the companies.
I get “these are only toys” and people can wait, it’s not life or death. But it’s a question of general decency, if your constantly changing the date for something domes paid for, even if the terms and conditions say that might happen, it’s just not professional

So Penta and Fenix are still getting new figures by Boss Fight judging by the back of that box. I thought they were canceled, but I guess not.

Welp, looks like they altered the size a tad! Sweet.
Konnan is billed at 5'11", but at least this can sit on the shelf with the other figures, unlike series 1 and their tiny bodies.

Also, Sami Zayn has very similar boots. The Konnan boots rotate at that line around the shin. I bet someone will slice these boots off and glue the Zayn boots on if it lines up (should I lol?). You can still rotate the boots and he'll be taller!

Just stick any pair of boots on em from mattel and see if they pop on. If that works im gettin one. They don't come off at the boots though. The thick line above the boot (shin area) is where these get their swivel. So to add new boots, you'd actually have to heat up the leg at the boot line and literally slice off the boots with a knife (like some did with Mox's legs). So assuming the Mattel boots "match" the Boss Fight calf mold, you'd simply glue them on. It will still swivel like before, but now the boots will be longer. Make sense?
I removed the boot/shin just to see what it looks like, and it almost looks like a screw. It's super odd. Adding a Mattel boot at that area wouldn't make it any taller. I'll look into making the change tomorrow though.

The head is also very small. This Konnan head is perfect. I think they changed the scale a tad, as the Konnan (their version of Elite) is bigger than the Lucha Bros in Series 1. But yes, from my earlier photo you can see it's about the same size as a Mattel Rey. Sami's boots give it just enough to make it seem like the 5'11" he is billed at. |
